Pop 'n' Twinbee - from when Anime could just be a cute thing kids could enjoy. I give you Happy J-Pop Level 1, Level 3, Level 4, and Level 5  . Even the name entry theme is awesome.

Both of these should really go in the Multiplayer Memories topic (too tired now) - the latter makes me almost tearfully nostalgic.  

I've got Buska posting PS3/360 games in the Nintendo thread, and now you posting SNES games in here!  That Twinbee music is great though.

Yeah I don't get why Buska posted that in the Nintendo thread as like he said the 3rd is on the Wii U but what's he been playing the series on PS3.

Right, time to conclude my top five Xillia themes.  Given my incredible consistency with posting them I'll just finish it in the one message.

And when it comes to pumping me up this theme is the king.  An awesome boss theme.

This is possibly more because of when it kicked in than anything.  The final dungeon was short and honestly I'd say it barely qualified as a dungeon, but when this theme kicked in that ceased to matter to me.  The only downside?  Battle themes cut in to it, who needs battle themes with this as the dungeon theme?

It might surprise some that my top theme isn't some big bombastic epic theme like Believe in Oneself, I've always been a sucker for themes like this.


Lesson I learned playing both routes of the game?  Milla has the far better battle themes.

I think my brain got mixed up with "Nintendo" the dev/pub and "Nintendo" the console.

But yes, Twinbee music is awesome.

It's there in the title and everything!  Eh, not much harm done.  I get to listen to it either way.

I promise I'll stop gushing about Dark Souls someday, but the day isn't today.

On the Dizzy Egg and old character's instead of just British why not just obscure / dead characters SMASH clone with gex, bubsy, zool, sparkstar, trevor mcfur just to name a few.

Because: a lot of old British characters had... character; a sense of humour, a loveability that doesn't normally exist today. Dizzy's writing was definitely British nerdy humour; the same sort of jokes made their way into the Banjo series later. It makes sense for the characters from this era to meet, to interact; there'd be a sort of "sorry old bean" attitude to them all.

The link doesn't do it a shred of justice however and it sounds so much better now the soundtrack arrived, although I guess that's to be expected from a video that's years old that used the pre-remastered version.  But still, cool music is cool music.

Despite how awesome the battle theme is my favourite theme is actually His Name Is Fear (or The name of His People Is Fear). I'm a sucker for ominous chanting.

Absolutely love this boss theme from Dark Souls II. Purposefully not named it, as it is spoilery if you've not played it, but it's very early on so if you have played the game don't fear for spoilers (you can actually fight this guy as your first boss if you so choose)

I actually kind of like some of the remixes to be honest, not that they're better than the original themes but some of them grew on me when I got the soundtrack last year.  The new themes were the standouts though, won't disagree with you there.  Two of those (justice sword and black & white) are my current favourite themes in the series in fact.

I was just about to come here and post that! Absolutely cracking soundtrack - Supergiant Games have knocked it out of the park again.

I knew it was good but started the game and the placing of the music is excellent.

Did you like the first boss fight theme? I thought it was cracking, really different for an action RPG.
