| Inspired by this thread over at our affiliate's place, this is just a thread about the things we're excited for/hyped for in gaming. I'm starting it primarily because I'm not hyped for many games at all at the moment, which is sad. I've warbled on about why I'm less excited for SSBU than yer average Smash ad nauseam; Pokémon Let's Go! is three quarters nostalgia trip and I'm not an overly nostalgic bloke; Daemon x Machina is too far away; the Yoshi game is a Yoshi game and we don't know when it's coming; Okami and TWEWY are great but they're ports...
So, I want to live vicariously through y'all. What games are you excited for? Doesn't need to be full-on tearing-yer-hair-out cryostorage-until-release-date hype, just excitement for something that'll probably be a day one buy for you. (Notwithstanding developments between now and release.) |

| I'm really excited for SSBU as I've written about comprehensively on this place. I'm actually really hyped to play the TWEWY port as well as it's been much too long since I've replayed that.
If we're talking the distant future, I'm cautiously excited for the FFVII remake - I don't mind the shift to a more action oriented combat system as I enjoyed FFXV. |

| Dead Cells - I've been following it for about a year or so now and it just looks like a game that is right up my street. |

| Aye, I really liked the look of that when I checked it out on the eShop. It's one I'll definitely be checking out once Hollow Knight is in the rear-view mirror for me as Dead Cells will likely be up my alley too. |

| I should start Hollow Knight I think as I wouldn't want to be playing both games at the same time since both are in the same genre, I've also eased off Hyrule warriors a bit and realised I should have been playing another single player game alongside it. |

| That's my reasoning too. You've gotta have a palate cleanser game in between two of the same genre. |

| Beyond August as we'll have a thread for that, I'm looking at a few games
Sep: Spider-Man, Insomniac is a decent developer and Sunset Overdrive showed they can do traversal that this might be able to rival the Arkham games
Oct: Forza Horizon 4, this looks fricking awesome and it's going to cost me like £8 to play it because of Game Pass
Nov: Pokemon Let's Go, I'm someone that still reckons Gen 1 is the best and I can start with my fav Eevee
Dec: Nothing
Jan: Resident Evil 2 Remake, this looks so good that it might be my most anticipated dated game of 2019
Feb: Has 90 million games and few I'd play but nothing I'm actually truly hyped for
Then after that, I can think of Death Stranding, Beyond Good & Evil 2, Bayonetta 3, Cyberpunk 2077, Devil May Cry V, Fire Emblem, Gears 5, Ghost of Tsushima, Halo 6, The Last of Us Part II, Ori and the Will of the Wisp, Shenmue 3 to name a few
Looking at that I can see why you aren't that hyped Balla as I'm looking forward to 3 Nintendo games.

| Spidey's a funny one for me as I know I'll enjoy it and it looks ace, but I'm not properly excited for it or anything. I've not been properly excited for anything on PS4 in ages! |

| It has been a quiet year part from God of War be it first or 3rd party on PS4 and Xbox One in my opinion but I do feel the same about Switch, which has only picked up now with Octopath. |

| I feel the same about Smash as the Balls Man, especially as I don't know if I'll really have a couch multiplayer group around that time. That said, I am pretty excited for Pokemon Let's Go, but I'm far more excited by the prospect of the inevitable 8th Gen.
I'm hyped for the chance to replay Dark Souls and Okami on the mighty Switch.
Once I'm earning and settled and it seems reasonable, I reckon I'll pick up a PS4 so I might be excited by all of those games then.
Other than that, there's stuff like Metroid Prime 4, Bayonetta 3 and Daemon Ex Machina which is exciting but too far away to actually make me feel any emotion yet, and stuff like Animal Crossing which is an exciting prospect but I don't actually know it exists yet. |

Yeah, I'm excited to see some footage of that in action. Samus Returns whet my appetite last year for some Metroid action, but I'm jonesing for a proper 3D one now. |

| Like Drunka, I think I need that game to be closer, or to have seen some of it, or at least to know that it's not Corruption 2, before I get excited for that one. Certainly, though, I reckon I'll be majorly up for it when it gets nearer. This is all good stuff though, excitement's contagious. I'm not sure whether I'm excited for Octopath (which I'll get in a month) or not, I've heard stuff that I like and stuff that I'm more wary about. Basically I feel mixed |

| If you're concerned about the non-linearity of Octopath, then I really wouldn't worry. You can experience the whole game in one playthrough - it'll just be in a different order from most. You'll like it a lot. |

| Ooh - ooh - Psychonauts 2! The first one was the most imaginative world I'd seen in a long time, and there was a big worry the franchise would disappear. End of the year apparently. |

| Blimey, that is a blast from the past! As is, er, me replying to that comment. Apparently. Anyway, I can now say I'm definitely not excited for Octopath. It's still coming, I'll still play it, and I'll still enjoy it, but I'm not excited for it. I am, however, definitely excited for Smash Bros. Ultimate. Despite the relative paucity of all-new content, the last Direct did a good job of convincing me that it's the next Smash game I've always wanted. K. Rool! Ridley! Mega Exeggutor being a pain in the behind! A secret one-player mode! All the gaming music I could ever want! I'm sure I'll get some hundred hours' playtime out of SSBU, through the new characters alone. Sign me up for this particular hype train. |

| I'm the complete opposite and I'm actually selling my Switch.
I like the Switch as a piece of kit but it does come down the games and how I play, with me I'm very much I come home turn the TV on & press the home-like button on a controller, I had the same issue with PSVR if you read my piece on Gintendo.
I can do that on Switch don't get me wrong but take Dark Souls, if I was going to play that it would be on Xbox One X as it runs better etc and cheaper. That it does come down to the exclusives like it always has for me with Nintendo and we've had a 3D Zelda, a 3D Mario, is Mario Kart 9 going to be a thing and what's announced all I can see I'd want to pick up is Pokemon Let's Go, Fire Emblem which is what Spring 2019, Bayo 3 TBC and Pokemon Gen 8 Fall 2019 along with the hopefully a unannounced Animal Crossing beyond that I'm not sure.
That at the moment with all the games etc I've got it's £600+ sat in my room which is just going devaluing in price not getting used and won't be for ages.
Now you all do know me and my buying of many Xbox Ones and even 3DS's (some were trades for fancy editions and New versions, mind), that I'm not ruling out never owning a Switch again but I do feel I would want a big game, a decent bundle and price. |

| I don't care for SMASH which is the Christmas game and the only other game this year I can think off part from TWEWY which I can play on my 3DS is Pokemon Let's Go which is November, you all know me and would I have bought a special edition Eevee bundle with brown and white joy-cons (all I can think off) anyway maybe as I've done that with many other consoles buying the fancy edition but I do think I can live without playing Pokemon day one in November. |

| I'm more than happy to have you vent as I'm always up for a good discussion but really why I put here about me getting rid of my Switch as the topic is what are you excited about in gaming, which the truth be told there's a handful of games on Switch and that's including something not even announced that I could say I'm excited about at a push.
Because of the Switch going doesn't suddenly mean I won't be here to chat as you look at the Switch thread at the moment and I can still talk about Okami, Moonlighter, Dead Cells etc just I'll be playing them elsewhere and also doesn't mean I won't buy Nintendo stuff either as if an N64 Mini is a thing I'm buying that and same goes for amiibo.
On games that I'm excited about hasn't really changed since last time, I'm still hyped for Spider-Man, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Forza Horizon 4, Assassin's Creed Odyessy surprisingly, Red Dead Redemption 2 after that trailer, Persona Endless Night from the more AAA scene of 2018 |

| Games that are very very close: Dead Cells - I mentioned this one above. PES 2019 - A demo for this came out on the 8th and I've pretty much booted it up everyday for a few games, I don't know how the PES team do it but that's 2 games in a row that have a clear night and day difference in quality in how it plays when most yearly sports games just slap in "new features" on top of what they made previously. Then there's the added bonus that the Scottish Premiership is fully licensed and my team is an official club partner as well, excited doesn't quite cover how I feel about this game and it's only 15 days away. Games that are a month or so away: Spider-man - Feels way too long since we had a good super hero game. Red Dead Redemption II - Really liked the previous RDR in both the single and multiplayer side of things and this just look stunning in the recent gameplay trailer. Dragonball fighterZ - Not sure I'd say I'm at excitement levels quite yet for this but when I tried the beta over the weekend with Jay this really surprised me (especially since I've never watched the anime) by how polished a fighting game it is so I'm definitely intrigued by it. |

| Nah Mas, I'm a Nintendo fanboy. I know I'd only go off on one that wouldn't make me look good. From a completely rational point of view, if you're looking to sell the Switch you have to factor up: - How much you'd get for selling it;
- The odds of a Switch-exclusive game coming out further down the line that you'd want to rebuy a Switch for;
- How much you'd have to pay at that time if you did so.
If you've weighed those up and think it'll be worth it in the long run, and decide to sell it off, that's your call and nobody else's. Jas, presume you'll be selling your Switch too from that list? |

Well, with two of those of games being on Switch that'll be a no. Also I was going to mention Smash Bros as well but I thought that'd be pretty obvious from what I've said in other threads so that's even split of games I'm excited for on Switch and ps4. |

| Yeah I've weighed that up at the moment you can get £250 for a Switch on its own on eBay or £210 after fees which a mate is willing to pay, that let's say the Switch doesn't drop in price a single penny between now and let's say Pokemon Let's Go (Jay's prediction), it's going to cost me what £40 to pick up another console if used.
Now special editions etc are a whole different ball game, now I think if we were getting one for Pokemon we'd know about it by now but Fire Emblem, I can see us getting one for that and like would I just go to GAME and trade in mine for the new shiny one or flog mine anyway on eBay and pay the difference.
That it's hard to know I can see the Mario Odyessy edition was £330 that would mean the difference is £80 (I've taken £40 off for the game as I would have to buy that anyway) now but what's that in spring if I keep my Switch till then? Would I even want the special edition, I know I've wanted and bought ones in the past be it Halo Xbox 360, NES GBA SP, Zelda New 3DS XL etc
I'm willing to take the gamble and at the worse, I lose £80 as of now but I could gain if Switches drop in price, like with my Xbox Ones I actually was up at one point (dam I sound like a Liverpool fan #netspendcup).
