Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Looks darn good and going on my birthday list.
Triangle Strategy. The demo was great, but I have said that about other square games in recent years, however not had a FF Tactics for ages which is why this excites me.
Chocobo GP. I'm a sucker FF things.
Rune Factory 5. I've only played a bit of 4 & Oceans, which seemed okay, I do know Andy is keen and has that Animal Crossing/Harvest Moon thing which I don't play often.

Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp. Hope this does well and leads to a few more games, like this.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land. Kirby Last of Us is everthing we need.
Bayonetta 3. The witch is back.
Untitled The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel. It's Zelda.
Splatoon 3. I'm a mammal now?
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge. Will it be better than Hyperstone Heist?
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. An expansion, nevertheless keen for it and the amiibo.

Multi/Other

Elden Ring. I shouldn't be as you all know what I'm like with Souls game but the last trailer it looked so awesome, I'm going to try and be sensible & wait for it to be on sale though.
GRID Legends. The past GRID games have been decent and if I want a racer in 2022 this could be it.
Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin. The demo was fine, really the name draws me in, and it is a tad Souls like when Elden Ring is available.  

TBC:
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. This looks like a big step-up for the LEGO games.
Sonic Frontiers. It's Sonic.
A Plague Tale: Requiem. The first is a gem.
Digimon Survive. Digimon are the champions.
Gotham Knights. I call dibs on Batgirl.
Oxenfree II: Lost Signals. I love the first, but Afterparty did suck.

Be a few other things like Life is Strange Remaster which I know is Feb 1st that I'll get but not something I'm super excited about or need to know more about.

My current top 5 games I'm properly excited for & in no particular order are:

Windjammers 2 - January 20th
Olli Olli World - February 8th
Elden Ring - February 25th
MH Rise Sunbreak
Bayonetta 3

Arceus and The Kirby Of Us are the ones that are close enough for me to be excited about. Kirby's more of an 'oh that should be cool', whereas Arceus is more 'why haven't I put a preorder down already?'

A few of mine are 'oh that should be cool' like Granblue Fantasy: Relink, and I did see some "leaks" of Nintendo's 2022-23 plans and looks very good maybe even the year of the switch  

I've got this underlying, in my bones, soul-defining excitement which is more like a religious sense of purpose for the sequel to Breath of the Wild.

In the shorter term, I'm dead keen for Arceus and Elden Ring.

Kirby and Bayonetta 3 are both in that weird space where I'm excited when I remember they exist.

There's also a bunch of games which exist and I'm just waiting to find time to play - Sekiro, Tsushima, No More Heroes 3 and so on.

Talking about Xenoblade 3 elsewhere, got me thinking about this thread post direct

That's a thoroughly packed schedule Mas!  As ever for you I guess.  I'm not sure Live A Live deserves to be in the same category as Chrono Cross.

I think I'm going to break things down into three categories, only including games that are meant to come out this year:

Hyped

None!  The games that would get me hyped nearer the time are too far away.  

Excited

Kirby and the Forgotten Land - Near and looks good, but Kirby has historically been a bit too easy to push into hype territory, and despite 3D movement I imagine this'll be similar.
Breath of the Wild 2 - Doesn't matter how far away this might get, it'll never drop below 'excited' for me.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 - The best RPG series since Paper Mario took a wrong turn around Sticker Star.

Up For It

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course - More Mario Kart!  But it's not exactly a new game is it?
Rune Factory 5 - Never played a Rune Factory, so don't know what it'll be like, but curious and hopeful.
Mario Strikers Battle League - Ditto.
Live A Live - This looks really interesting, and is obviously quite a looker.

Then there are a bunch of maybes clustering together below that, that I might pick up if I run out of other stuff to play - Advance Wars, Switch Sports, Chrono Cross for example.  It's going to be a good year for Switch.

Yeah a lot for me, especially on Switch, with Nintendo announcing quite a bit then even some 3rd party stuff, I would like for it.

Double post as a lot of what I put back in Feb has now come out, along with that after the new Xeno 3 date that I went to pre-order it and a few other games today.

The Quarry (XSX). The Dark Picture games even though I've liked them they've been like 6 or 7/10 games at best but been like £20, that this being £65 and touted as the true follow-up to Until Dawn has me excited well part from the price.

Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes (NS). The latest trailer of this made the game looked very robust for a spin-off FE game.

Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series (NS). He's back.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak (NS). An expansion, nevertheless keen for it and the amiibo.

Live A Live (NS). It's new to me and a lot of you, this RPG with the 2D-HD look.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 (NS). Like I said last time after playing Torna and the trailers, well keen, maybe a bit close to Live A Live though.

Digimon Survive (NS). This has just been dated, and when we last saw it, did look good, but that was about 3 years ago though.


Soul Hackers 2 (Xbox). Shame this isn't on Switch because of the series history with Nintendo, but I can get on Xbox and is Atlus that sure I'll like it.

Starfield (Xbox). Still don't much about it, but should be the big AAA game from Xbox this year.

Of course stuff without dates like always including Advance Wars now.

I’m excited for the sheer volume of retro compilations that are coming out for the Switch in the next few months. Sonic Origins just got confirmed for a June release and Capcom 2nd Arcade Stadium was announced for a June release too. That’s on top of the Turtles Cowabunga Collection, Klonoa Phantasy Series, PAC-MAN Museum +, Capcom Fighting Collection and the Wonder Boy Collection. Those are just the ones I remember off the top of my head, there’s probably a few more.

Summer's going to be mad for me.  Will I even get around to Live A Live or Mario Strikers when there are terrible comedy British accents swinging swords about to be had?  I'm now slowly edging into genuine hype territory for XC3, after it was brought closer.

Any other year I'd be keen on Turtles Cowabunga, but I'll just get Shredders Revenge though. The Capcom fighting collection does look like a good set.

Then yesterday Shadowrun Trilogy is coming, and will be on Game Pass that I'll give that bash.

Yeah, I think Xeno3 might be my most anticipated game with a date beyond Mario Strikers.

Soul Hackers 2. It looks good & I'm an Atlus fan, also now getting a physical on Xbox in the West. Still baffled no Switch version especially for Japan at least as can't say PS & Xbox doing well there.
Splatoon 3. Already got pre-ordered digitally with the two for £84 deal on Switch, I really want to get into the online with Splatoon 3.
Pokémon Scarlet or Violet. I'm unsure which version to go for at the moment, as Purple my fav colour, but I like the past style of Scarlet also I often go Pokémon Red/Ruby/Pearl etc

That's it with a date as of course excited about Bayonetta 3 then be indies etc, and in October think I should be able to buy my SteamDeck which is exciting as seen stuff like Ghostwire Tokyo run on it and that can be picked up cheap now.

Yep, I saw this too and thought the same! (Maybe 'intrigued' rather than 'excited' in my case.) There's also Melatonin if you like that sort of thing: coming to Switch this month I think, out on Steam already.

Nier: Automata The End of Yorha Edition. Might be an odd one to be excited about as been available for a few years elsewhere and I even own on Xbox (nice to see physical on Switch), but last year I played Replicant and was one of the best games I played in general and even went into my Top 50. Automata should be better than Replicant, and from the games thread might be chat from Balla or Buska as well if they pick it up amongst others.

A Plague Tale: Requiem. The first was a real surprise and this will be on Game Pass day one, just I hope doesn't go too far with the mystic stuff.

Gotham Knights. Hopefully the puzzler from GGS makes it in.

Bayonetta 3. Should be a right banger.

Harvestella. Nintendo seems to be getting behind this and looks like a great Farming JRPG.

Sonic Frontiers. Looks so much better now than it did, plus it's Sonic which I'm a sucker for.

God of War Ragnarök. I feel tad like Smurf with this one I know it will be fantastic but not sure if I will get right away, just when I do it be great.

Tactics Ogre: Reborn. Ohh yeah this coming back from Square.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. It's Pokémon init, always excited about the surrounding chat.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion. Arguably the best game on PSP and maybe even Final Fantasy, yes it's that good and more people will get to play it. The only real question is it coming December.

Football Manager 2023. No date as yet but we all know it be coming out and this year I can manage Taunton Town, which genuinely exciting.

For proper excitement, it's basically just Pokémon for me until we get a BotW2 release date. That said, the rumours of a new Nintendo Direct (filled mostly with old games apparently) are building, and I can't help getting a little excited about that...

A sort old game might be something for you, that has been rumoured.

I should actually add Pokemon and Crisis Core to my hype list. Scarlet and Violet are looking the business and I enjoyed VII Remake so much another piece of the story would be perfect.
