I'm more excited about RetroMania Wrestling at the moment, which was confirmed for a 26th February release.

On a final note, I've been watching some of the 30 Days Of The Deadman documentaries on the WWE Network. Last week's Paul Bearer documentary was absolutely fantastic, genuinely one of the best on the whole service.

A pale contender when matched up against Sheamus's legendary Kiss Me Arse match.

Really sad news about Brodie Lee today, especially now being in AEW he could show what he could do in the ring.

I couldn't really believe it when I saw it. Very sad. He's one of those guys that you never hear a bad word about and I think he was going to have some fun over at AEW.
I was lucky enough to see him live once, back under his Luke Harper gimmick. Came out with Eric and Braun. I don't remember the match but I do remember the entrance. Even in Butlins it had a real presence.

Aye, I sat there in disbelief for a good while after hearing the news in the early hours of this morning.
The guy always stood out in every single one of his matches either by sheer presence like muss said or by pulling off things a man of his size had no right to, any time I've scrolled twitter today I've seen nothing but nice stories about how he was as a person which makes it all the more tough to take.

Really sad news, it's lovely to see all the kind words about him though, some of his colleagues and former ones can't speak highly enough of him, the world has lost a good one.

Saw him live a few times back in the UK. I always had a lot of time for him and his old creepy stablemates. Also, a friend of mine really fancied him so she's especially heartbroken.
Always shit to hear this news about someone so young.

I was stunned by this news as well. It seemed like he had a real point to prove and that he was finally being the performer he wanted to be. Before he got into AEW I always thought he had loads more to offer than they were letting him show, and I think that's a popular point of view too.

The tribute show was rather good that AEW did
This Monday and Tuesday is Wrestle Kingdom, it's has some decent matches, but nothing really screams must watch
Day 1 Dark Match 22 Man Provisional KOPW 2021 Trophy New Japan Rambo Final Four Advance to Day 2 Winner advances to IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship Match on Day 2 Hiromu Takahashi vs. El Phantasmo, Hiromu winning here IWGP Tag Team Championship Dangerous Tekkers (Taichi and Zack Sabre Jr.) vs. Guerrillas of Destiny, Thinking GOD win the belts IWGP United States Championship Briefcase Kenta (Briefcase Holder) vs. Satoshi Kojima, Kenta then at somepoint we will get him V Moxley Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Great-O-Khan, Go Ace Kazuchika Okada vs. Will Ospreay, Will with help from Bea IWGP Heavyweight Championship and the IWGP Intercontinental Championship with winner facing Jay White on Day 2 Tetsuya Naito (c) vs. Kota Ibushi, Kota
Day 2 Dark Match Queen's Quest (Saya Kamitani, AZM, and Utami Hayashishita) vs. Donna Del Mondo (Maika, Natsupoi, and Himeka), Queen's Quest because of Utami Dark Match Mayu Iwatani and Tam Nakano vs. Donna Del Mondo (Syuri and Giulia), Donna Del Mondo as they're both champs and Giulia is my fav in Stardom Provisional KOPW 2021 Trophy Holder Four Way, I feel Yano will keep his Trophy going into 2021 IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship Suzuki-gun (El Desperado and Yoshinobu Kanemaru) (c) vs. One or Eight (Ryusuke Taguchi and Master Wato), Suzuki-gun to retain NEVER Openweight Championship Shingo Takagi (c) vs. Jeff Cobb, This could match of the event and I reckon Jeff to win to give Empire some gold Evil vs. Sanada, Sanada hopefully wins IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship Taiji Ishimori (c) vs. Hiromu Takahashi or El Phantasmo, Hiromu to go all the way, but then I'm also thinking IWGP Heavyweight Championship and the IWGP Intercontinental Championship Tetsuya Naito or Kota Ibushi (c) vs. Jay White, Kota to finally do it

I had this really fucking weird dream yesterday. I was praising a dangerously receded hairline CM Punk for standing up to Vince, really brown nosing Punk at some hotel, and then my perspective shifted to Punk's memory and it was him tearing into Vince - where Vince's laughing face was on every mirror inside a hall of mirrors.

Some lad used an N64 controller wrapped in barbed wire on Impact the other day.
There he is, thinking about the glory days of Buck Bumble and Iggy's Wreckin' Balls.
Also, Shinsuke Nakamura turned good guy and got his old music back.

It's a total headfuck of a game. I tried going back to Iggy's Wreckin' Balls when I was rattling through all those N64 games last summer, but I just couldn't make sense of it. What an odd way to play it though - on a giant Game Boy in a pizza joint!

It's the Royal Rumble next week, and with hee-haw else going on in lockdown I've been amusing myself by watching some of the old Royal Rumble matches on the WWE Network. Some of them are genuinely fantastic - 1992, 2002, 2007 and 2020 are my favourites. There's some I'd forgotten about, like 1989 and 2003, they've actually got some nice stories threaded through them. Even the rubbish ones - I'm looking at you, 1993, 1996 and 2015 - arr still quite entertaining. I'll happily watch a shite Royal Rumble.
The WWE's YouTube page have uploaded several of them into this playlist if you're interested: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLqIVmFaHA8BoFMU88NQSVau4JeaKHvgyj
What are your favourite Royal Rumble matches?

The one I remember enjoying the most was one of the Austin wins - can't remember which. He wasn't in the match for most of it, and I think it was full of McMahon shenanigans, but the way they told the story throughout the match was brilliant. By the time Austin came out, I had goosebumps on my goosebumps. The only other Rumble match I really enjoyed was last year's with Brock. It told a great story and made Drew (and a few others). Otherwise, I don't really remember the in-match action as it's largely spot-fests and wrestlers languishing on the mat like they have really low stamina (compared to regular matches). The Rumble matches are all about the entrances for me - the one with both Diesel and Booker was class.
I'm not watching this year's having cancelled my Network subscription (again). I tried to watch 2020 PPVs but the lack of crowd just kills it for me, and the Rumble is probably the one PPV that relies on crowd participation.
Thanks Cappa for that playlist though, I'm well up for watching some old matches
