I haven't bought this yet, as one prerequisite would be that many multiplayer games can be played locally on one Switch; there seem to be fewer than I originally thought. Is that the case? Does that question make sense?

| Yep, it all depends on how many folk are playing.
2 players and you can play 40 of the games. 3 players and it's 3 games. (Blackjack, ludo & Chinese checkers) 4 players and it's just blackjack and ludo.

Pretty sure you can also play poker, president and a few more card games as well with 3-4 players

That's for online and if everyone has their own Switch, isn't it? ---- Also I played Mahjong solitaire in the early hours of this morning and I love it!

I believe Jas is right unless you've got more than one Switch local, otherwise you're seeing eachothers hands.

I'm interested in this purely for shogi but haven't bought it yet. What are some of the other games like on this? Do they play well?

I don't think I've played enough myself to give a definitive verdict but I've played 5 games and they've been hit and miss. They're all generally well made though, presentation is good and they work well enough without any hiccups. One criticism I've heard is they've missed a few obvious features and options here and there, nothing an update couldn't fix but ultimately a little frustrating like Nintendo can be at times.

Thanks for the input. In that case I might hold off on this to drop in price or go cheap in a sale.

My grandparents bought me a copy of this for my birthday so I'm up for some online shenanigans if anyone else is still playing.
