I've played lots of stuff that's come out in 2023.  It's just that most of it hasn't been that good.

I don't think MPR is 'an epic and long adventure-style game' in this day and age!  I blew through it in fifteen hours with 97% completion.  Obviously I'd played it before, but I reckon that coming to it fresh you're looking at 25h max if you don't try and pick up everything (as I presume you wouldn't).  Of course, our definitions of 'epic and long' are probably a bit different given the genres we both play...

I've played a lot of stuff, as I'm on 13 games finished (only 5 are new 2023 games) and 4 story DLC things. Also knowing Andy, he would have played even more than me this year. Yet still nothing to play.


Got those two today. Know Last Window a well liked game on here, and I don't see it often, then I think last time I saw it was £40+ where I got it for £30.

I genuinely said I'd try to play more games from this year after my pitiful list in last years voting thread, so far I've played 1 game and that was nothing to shout about, that's not the fault of releases mind, just my tendency to play through everything slowly.

30 quid's not bad at all for Last Window. Have you played Hotel Dusk? I don't know if I'd recommend LW without HD. Although they're pretty separate, HD is a little more focused whereas LW works if you're already willing to just spend time with the character. Plus there are some callbacks and stuff.

Nope not played HD either, only Another Code from Cing I believe.

Trust Mas to play them the wrong way around. Hopefully it's still fun.

Well I could play HD, just when giving it a go like I did with HD when I bought that LW clicked a bit more and continued to play at least all the first chapter.

Quite a few things since my last post as it's been payday and new releases

Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp for Switch. Arrived yesterday, this big Nintendo (Is the Xenoblade DLC bigger?) April release.

Afterimage for Switch. This isn't actually here yet but been dispatched, what looks like it might be an interesting physical indie release of a Metroidvania. And on the STEAM page, games like it comes up with Celeste, Ori, Bloodstained, Hollow Knight etc

Cult of the Lamb for Switch. I have mentioned before this has been on my radar but the roguelike nature of it has always put me off a tad. That least this physical version if I don't like I can trade in etc also we got more content annouced after the indie showcase.

Deadly Premonition Origins CE for Switch. More one for the collection as I've played it before, and I did think I overpaid for this after seeing it in CEX later in the day, but the CE does seem to go for around £40 on eBay that I may have underpaid.

Dredge for Switch. One of the highest reviewed games of the year and I know Balla liked the demo. The physical comes with the DLC, artbook, some stickers and much like Cult if I don't like it I can trade in.

Super Princess Peach for DS. I was bidding on one of these on eBay and thought I won it for £20ish but went nearly £40 in the end and I don't think I've ever seen it in the wild, then weirdly saw a post from local indie they had it trade in. Yeah, so I continue my sudden DS game buying even though I'm looking for 3DS stuff.

Next on the DS front Another Code, Project Rub, Pokémon Conquest? And when Afterimage does arrive, I'll be on 47 physical Switch games with three on pre-order, though two won't arrive to July to coming from PlayAsia that I'm closing in on 50.

I can see why Super Princess Peach is going up in price. I don't think it's because it's a pretty good game in it's own right, but it's because there's no chance we'll ever see it's likes again. It's an oddly sexist game based on mechanics of stereo-typically 'girly' emotions, it's quite strange altogether.

Project Rub is just pervy. I just put my copy into a charity shop a couple of weeks ago, it's one of those games that just makes you think 'what the hell was that all about?'.

Project Rub was one of the first DS games I bought, so got some nostalgia for it.

Bought a couple things earlier in the week, first up a couple T shirts after seeing Capcom say on twitter they now sell on amazon.






and the new hori fighting commander Octa mainly for the upcoming Street fighter 6.

Will be happy to hear your thoughts on the pad, as I was looking at one for SF6, T8, MK12 etc

Not got around to trying it just yet but I really liked the previous FC pad from hori (which I have for switch) so the only question mark will be if that little analog nub is any good.

I kind of want a Ghost Trick t-shirt badly, but while that one's nice it doesn't really sing to me. Still, if it's official I might have to put down a present request...

I do get what you mean, the official merch was slim pickings sadly since most of it was like they just went "hey, let's slap a games key art on some clothes" so those two I got and maybe a few others are the best of a bad bunch.

Yeh, I always really liked the the same in-game art banners you unlock for room customisation so it's amazing to have them on a tee.

I picked up in work as it's double discount Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury as how often am I going to find for £32, that's sorta my 48th physical Switch game as the one I ordered before SM3DW+BF only turned up today and that's Final Fantasy XII which was £16. I've never played XII, and now oddly will have a wee FF collection on Switch with VII & VIII Twin Pack, and when Pixel Remaster ever arrives.

I just prefer certain inputs on analog stick not to mention my thumbs can get sore pretty quick with d-pad only, also I've gave this hori pad a good go now & I really like it - some don't like the d-pad but I think it's fine and the nub stick is nicer than I was expecting & it's sensitivity can be customised.

That's good to hear and something I will look at close SF6 and the other fighter's.
