That's a bloody low bar though! I agree, but DTB was overall received better by critics than CS was. Not entirely sure why. |

| DTB, in theory, did a lot of stuff people had been longing for. Return of proper RPG structure! Towns! Popple comes back! 20h+ game!
It just did it all badly and with no sense of pacing. |

| Right so i've just finished Color Splash, really enjoyed it to be honest! I'd say if you were put off by the Sticker Star similarities i'd at least give it chance! Not 100 % sure what to play next on my backlog adventures probably will be one of; Tokyo Mirage Sessions Xenoblade Chronicles X Super Mario Galaxy 2 (I recently picked up a few Wii Motion Plus Wiimotes for fairly cheap, i played almost none of the wii library, i have this sat on my Virtual Console!) Star Fox Zero/Guard Rayman Legends Anyone have any recommendations or thoughts on those? |

| SMG2 if you've not played it before, definitely! I didn't love the Galaxies as much as many, but there's no denying they're both essential gaming. RLegends probably comes next. It's a really good 2D platformer with some great ideas. I got on with XCX but many other people didn't: it's a single-player MMO, keep that in mind. (Also I'd advise you to get to the flying robots before you judge it, but that's 2/3 of the way through the game or something so I can't judge you if you don't!) I haven't played TMS but Zero seemed to like it, and SF0 is not a great Star Fox but some of us got on with it anyway. Give it a shot, but if the dual-screens thing still annoys you after three levels it's unlikely to get any better. |

| I know Persona 4 Golden is likely your favourite game ever that Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE is the one I would say but I know you didn't get on with Persona 5 due to the lack of connection to the characters.
I don't know if this will be harder or easier for that as being sub only, I'm not sure if you will get the connection to these dudes as well but then you might be drawn in due to the Fire Emblem characters.
That it is very much an odd one as it is basically Persona and it's not Persona 4, could also be a mind thing as would you have liked Persona 5 if it was called something else and not have a bar set for the series?

| Thanks for the input peeps! I will get to them all eventually for sure, Zero recommended heavily to me on twitter so I may well go with that or Galaxy 2 next!
Star Fox Zero intrigues me because it seems so different to every thing else!
Also is there anything on Wii/Wii U you peeps missed that you want to give a go when theres abit of a draught on Switch? Interested to know!

| Paper Mario, as I've seen your review and suddenly seem a few people playing it recently with most liking it but I'd either want to borrow it of you or pick it up for under a tenner due to it being a Wii U game.
The other one is TMS #FE as after reading what Zero said about it and liking Persona 4, 5 and Fire Emblem I did pick it up again after I had the Wii U clear out to fund the Switch. I did start it and nearly done Chapter 1 or 2, just other things have gotten in the way and it's now one of those games I'm not going to trade in (unless Switch version happens) that I'm in no panic to play it.
Also, it's on Wii U, sure it's not Wii bad going back to as it's still HD but I just find the gamepad to big & bulky as a normal controller. |

| Thats fair to be honest. I dunno if its because of my big hands but I find the Wii U gamepad way more comfortable than the Switch! I think its the grooves on the back and bigger sticks that help for me!
Yeah I think TMS #FE might be the way to go for me! |

| I don't use the Switch like that, I use a Pro controller which I don't have any more for Wii U as the trade in was something ridiculous as I had a white one.
Only time I do use as handheld is the likes of the meet or watching a podcast and then it's more of a handheld game not a 80hr JRPG.

| Hyrule Warriors
Had a bash on this and completed the first "mission". As repetitive and easy as it is, I really enjoyed it. It has a mindless, rewarding cycle a little like Assassin's Creed, whereby you are just ticking boxes off by collecting items and murdering the masses. A bit like you are playing a game with a cheat mode on. I'll stick with it as I'm not the most knowledgable Zelda fan - having looked at the DLC on the eShop though, I didn't realise that EVERY Zelda game is available to play on Wii-U. Except the 3DS ones, natch. |

It is missing a few like the Oracle games, myself and EofGiz were talking about it the other day as the GameCube with a GBA Player can play like "15" Zelda Universe games and he brought up the Wii U can do the same but the choice of games is different. |

I may be getting rid of my Switch but I still have my Wii U and was looking at some games for that beast also was looking at some 3DS games but I'm not sure if I can go back to that just yet (waiting for that #nostglia to kick in) These are what I'm looking at: Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, didn't beat at the time Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, never played this one Kirby & The Rainbow Paintbrush, Don't why I never have this one a proper look as I like Kirby games Ninja Gaiden 3 Razors Edge, Only one of the three I've not given a fair go and Wii U likely best place to play it Paper Mario: Color Splash, lot's of talk on this one above and the one I've been looking at the most as I've played nothing of it and I don't know when we're getting another Paper Mario Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water, this one is unlikely to get played as it's £70+ on disc and I'm not paying whatever is for a digital version but I would like to play somehow Sonic Boom and Lost Worlds, I'm a Sonic fan Yoshi Woolly World, yes another platformer which you may have guessed isn't my favourite genre in the world Then, of course, there is TMS #FE which I own that I could be playing but really anything worth getting and really worth a play. |

| Good man. Beyond that, I've not a lot to recommend as I never owned the console. SM3DW looked fun, though. |

These are what I'm looking at:
Ninja Gaiden 3 Razors Edge, Only one of the three I've not given a fair go and Wii U likely best place to play it
Ninja Gaiden 3 on Wii-U is good, but don't play it on the GamePad unless you enjoy arthritis. |

| Paper Mario is essential. Don't go in expecting a perfect game, it's rough around the edges but there's not really anything quite like it. And it's a rare adventure/RPG game in that the battle system gets more interesting and challenging the further you get into it, rather than the other way round. |

| Huh. I didn't think I'd be posting in this topic again; but recently I saw some Mario Maker levels, and I've got the urge again. Considering this was the game I dreamed about as a kid, I didn't generate a lot of #content. |

| I really feel like replaying the first No More Heroes, which feels (in my mind) like a better game with every year that passes from its release. It's amazing how much I remember of it, and how little I remember from its disappointing followup that Suda had no hand in making. - Balladeer wrote:

It just did it all badly and with no sense of pacing. I'm going to guess most reviewers didn't play the game to its conclusion, so they didn't really realise how bloated and unnecessarily long it was. Though that was probably obvious the moment the game's predictable structure reared its head anyway - the world map had 5 (I think) very obvious areas, each taking a certain number of hours to complete... |

| And the Dream World areas, a lot of which were very dull.
I must admit, I never finished NMH2 and wasn't sure why. Hearing that Suda wasn't involved explains so much, and yet so little. Up for NMH3 then Fronk? |

| Oh man, what a slog those side scrolling areas were. The ones in Bowser's Inside Story just about managed to never outstay their welcome, while also shifting your perspective in both the story and world about, so it's amazing how they managed to take a similar idea and make it feel like busywork. The dull localisation (or script) can't have helped either. It was the first game in the series to be handled by NoE rather than NoA.
I never finished NMH2 either. The idea that they'd throw assassins and quick minigames at the player quickly made for a predictable game - I only remember one section of the game as a result, whereas so much of the first has stuck with me.
If by NMH3 you're referring to Travis Returns...maybe. I played two demos at events, one further along in development than the other, and I wasn't wholly convinced. The first demo lacked combat mechanics so felt like a dull and samey hack and slasher up until the boss fight. The second demo, set in the same location, added more mechanics, many of them rather fun, but the rep said they toned down the difficulty due to feedback from the first demo. Which negated a need for all those fancy new combat moves to exist. |
