| I am officially too old for memes. In other news, TW101 is definitely a Platinum game. It has that demand for the kind of exacting standard that I am not capable of. Still, I'm enjoying the varied set pieces and the design: the levels look like a child's playset, and some of the character portraits move like Thunderbirds puppets. An odd concoction, it is. |

| Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
Played the first hour of this three-quel and have to say that it's hugely underwhelming. NGamer appeared to agree at the time, stating that the first section is "awful" and it's not until you get to the second world that things start to pick up. Was this common on Wii? Twilight Princess sticks out as another that suffered from a boring tutorial that dragged on too long.
The problem with the start of Prime 3 is how terrible the dialog is. It knocks you out of the immersive world Metroid is normally so good at absorbing you in to, which raised another issue - Prime 3 feels too open. Not open-world or open-ended, but it feels less claustrophobic and that sense of isolation is gone.
Please tell me it gets better. |

| Erm. Nope. Those are the problems with MP3. I didn't have a problem with the openness so much, but the voice acting and 'characters' are notoriously awful. |

It never really comes back, either. The levels are a lot roomier than past Metroids and there's far more talking than there should be in a Metroid game too. I will say there are some cracking levels in the game though - if I remember rightly, the level that's basically Cloud City was a good 'un. |

| Having finished all my retail games on the Switch, I've plugged the old Wii U back in. I'm fresh from finishing Mission 003B in The Wonderful 101, and am pleased to report that I picked the controls back up much more quickly than I thought I would. Also playing Superstar Saga on the quiet. Got the second forest thing... now for the third! This may or may not be exactly what I was playing last time I turned the Wii U on. |

| Blimey, you're getting through your backlog at a nice pace then Zero! Best of luck tidying up the rest of your collection on Wii U - I'd be struggling to return to the Wii U if I owned one alongside my Switch. |

| The next game in my Wii U is Batman: Arkham Origins. [Batvoice]I need to play it more to make progress.[/Batvoice] It is also somewhat saddening to play Wii U, knowing that the Miiverse symbol is never going to beep with life again. |

| Started Tokyo Mirage Sessions #Fe on Wii U this afternoon, was planning to play the first 10 or so mins and a quick let's play on my YouTube. I ended up playing all the prologue which is about 1hr 15mins long which will go on my YouTube.
It is exactly the same as Persona just things have different names from what I've seen, outside the first dungeon things could be different though on how the characters interact with each other.
From what I've played I sort of wish Jay had a way to play TMS #FE and Zero had a way to play Persona 4 or 5 as both would love those games.
I also wonder if I missed anything else good on Wii U that came out at retail. |

| Paper Mario could be one that might cover my question a good Wii U game, I've missed. |

| I do rate both Paper Mario: Color Splash and Tokyo Mirage Sessions, as we know. Having beaten Arkham Origins, I only own one Wii U retail game that I haven't beaten: Darksiders II. I seem to recall Jimbob saying the port was done by The Chuckle Brothers, though... and I've got Dragon Quest Builders to go at now, too. I'll see you soon, Wii U. |

| I have to loathe Colour Splash on principle, however good it is. Show me TTYD 2, or even TTYD HD, and I'll rescind that loathing. |

If it'll physically let you, it's worth a finishin'. But I can totally see Dragon Quest Builders being more of a laugh. |

| I've had a few goes on Ghost Squad for Wii. Reminds me a lot of Confidential Mission and Virtua Cop, but I'm surprised by the depth that is on offer compared to the usual SEGA arcade ports. Lots of unlockable guns and costumes, I just need to pick up a Wii Zapper to get the full experience. |

| Ghost squad was surprisingly great!
As I haven't picked up a switch game in a while (I beat Dragon quest builders on Vita!!) Im now going through New Super Luigi U and its been pretty fun so far. The slippy Luigi controls are what make this difficult in my opinion but the challenge is somewhat refreshing for a Mario game! |

| Im still keeping my Wii U alive atm as I get through my back catalogue!
I've just started Paper Mario: Colour Splash which I was pretty excited for before its launch but just didn't get to it.
Enjoying it so far, the combat isn't close to the greatness of TTYD or the Mario And Luigi series but it is still fun. The world and writing is fantastic too!
Many of you played it? |

| Glad that someone's still getting something out of the little Nintendo console that couldn't! Just... bleah. I'll return to the Mario RPGs when they return to being RPGs, and/or start coming up with new characters again. For all that I've heard great things about the game's plot and world, it embodies so much that I resent about the direction the franchise has taken. |

| Yeah there is still plenty left for me to play on the ole Wii U,not retired her yet :p
It's a completely fair comment tbh, I think the game works fine without a traditional leveling or equipment system but if thise had been in this it would jump pretty high in my favourite Wii U list.
With how funny this game is I would imagine a toad blacksmith character would of been hilarious too! |

| I really enjoyed Colour Splash! It wasn't as good a game as Thousand Year Door or Super Paper Mario, I don't think (though the former is one of My Favourite Games Of All Time and the latter simply had a better story and was very much its own beast), but I enjoyed it more than, for example, Dream Team Bros. It's characterful and fun, and had some nifty setpieces. |

| I picked up some Lego Dimensions expansions on the cheap last week so I fired up my Wii U to give them a go. They were really fucking great and it actually makes me want to pick up a couple more of them. The only downside to them is they hide parts of the expansions behind other characters, for example I got the Portal 2 pack but theres sections where you need Unikitty or Wonder Woman to do a thing but if you dont own those expansions then youre shit out of luck. Something about that just grates with me, even if you do get a good amount of content you can access. |

| Dimensions is great but you are right about the subtle pay walls. I think on the whole its fair but can be a little annoying!
I suppose now its all in clearance its the perfect time to pick stuff for it up! |

| I've not got any of the Lego Games since Star Wars, but yep: that sounds really annoying. I can understand it given the way the game works though. Anyway, I'm happy to continue to stay away. - Rum Rapture wrote:

| I thought you could play all the stories without getting other figures but couldn't get to side stuff, thought that would be the same with level packs.

| Oh it is, the "story" level can be finished with just the pack in character(s), but the packs also come with a new hub area to explore and that has all kinds of gates that fence off content. I understand thats how the game works but its still a bit of a pain to fork out for extra content to find a bunch of it is behind further paywalls. |
