| I agree with you lot about getting the game right, but for an indie title, HLD's going to have been in development for an absurd amount of time. Still, small team, small-ish budget, and apparently the project lead has health problems. I'm not annoyed, just a bit sad. |

| The Curve sort-of-half-price sale contains some right bargain-a-roos, DIGRESSION ALERT: Cap is so much better at this than me! with Thomas Was Alone and Stealth Inc. 2 being easy recommendations. I'm going to pick up The Swapper, too. |

| Yep! I've seen a recent LP of that and it surprisingly looks really good for something that is influenced heavily from Sonic. |

| Just tried them all,
Rive seems to have a bit of metroidvania x shump there which I quite like, I might buy Runbow seems like it would be good if you were playing with people, Pass Soul Axiom jay might be able to tell us more but seems to be the same plot of WI other game Master Reboot from what I played was okay, Maybe Mutant Mudds SC didn't like at all, Would have to be free forma.8 I like the look of it but that's about it, have to be cheap Typoman I love the aesthetics of this, Maybe Extreme Exorcism is a bit like Runbow likely to be more fine with people but was okay SP, It's a pass unless cheap Freedom Planet, Take my money amazing Lovely Planet plain weird, Would have to be cheap but I would try if so

| Loving Runbow. It feels like a cross between Cloudberry Kingdom and Runner2. I'll sign off before this turns into silly hype... but I now have another game to look forward to. |

| Aye, Rive, Runbow and freedom planet are all top quality and the definite stand outs above the others, I did find that forma.8 game quite relaxing as well. |

| The demos aren't terribly long - at least, the three I played. I'd be happy to download the full versions of all of them, based on what I played... I hope you can find the time to get on the ones you're interested in, guys! |

Seconded. --- EDIT: I have now played more of those event demos. Soul axiomThis was unbelievable boring in every way, it's the type of game that's just been done before a thousand times and controls were a complete mess and is the only demo I have deleted off my wii U. Lovely PlanetNow this was a complete surprise especially since it was the one I expected the least from, it's basically a speed running FPS with strong katamari Damacy vibes the controls especially are very slick which makes it great fun to play. |

| I'm adding Typoman and Extreme Exorcism to the list as we speak. In other news, Metroid Prime Trilogy is £12.59 until tomorrow. If you haven't already, I'd say you should get on that! |

| @Jas I played some more Soul Axiom this week at WGDS (article will go up soon) and it was much better then that first sort of level which doesn't really show it of as well as it could be. When I played at WGDS I did that level in like a minute and they were shocked and asked if I had been playing early access as they recognised my name, must of been from when I got the team code which I past on to Jay. But it does it more atmospheric sort of a Bioshock vibe but just very simple though but I'm guessing when you got more powers then the two I've seen it becomes harder and more rewarding.
@Zero downloading all the indies when they come to the eShop proper which is cool as I seen a article from the former head of the indie stuff that went to work for Sony (I think).
Saying that long time Nintendo fans are stuck in there ways and only buy stuff of the eShop that they know like a Wayforward title or something with nostalgia value like a Elliot Quest then lets say downloading the above Soul Axiom (not saying it's the best example) that doesn't really fill the criteria that Dan (I want to say he's called) says Nintendo fans buy but due to lack of games on the Wii U (his words more or less) that Wii U owners should be trying different things when there aren't as many games they know coming and in-turn should bring more games to the console.
To me that's cool but of course you aren't going to buy Soul Axiom for £9.99 if you haven't played it for instance, that to fix the issue he brings up there should be more Demos like we got now of indie games. |

I did think it was a poor demonstration and the puzzle element could get more interesting than that but as a first impression I can't say I'm excited for it, I'll look for a review when it's out but it's a doubtful purchase at this point. - mas wrote:

I'm going to have to disagree with that guys opinion, I think most Nintendo fans are open to anything it's just that they expect a certain quality from a game so we may be harder to please. For example the games I'm most likely to pick up out of those e3 event demo's (Runbow, Rive, lovely planet & Freedom planet) I'm not getting them because of nostalgia value or because I know them it's because they meet the fun and quality I expect. |

The puzzle element did get more interesting - I played it for a couple of hours (stopped as I didn't want to review a half-finished game) and the variety in environments and puzzling gets much broader. There was one section in an abandoned military base which was genuinely chilling. One to look out for, I'd say. |

I'm with Jas here on many fronts: the eShop folder on my Wii U is full to bursting with stuff that's brand spanking new (mostly RPG's and platformers, though). The quality thing is spot on, too - if it's not worth my time/money, it ain't going in. To the folder, that is. ~~~ Extreme Exorcism reminds me of the single screen platformers of yore, and has a real Amiga-y vibe to it. You play as a ghost hunter and each time you kill a ghost, that set of actions is saved as a ghost and you restart, now with two ghosts on-screen. Repeat until you can barely move for your own actions. It's intriguing and somewhat confusing, but I'm not going to put my name down for it. Typoman, on the other hand, is intriguing and somewhat confusing. No, wait - that's the same hand. The aesthetic reminded me strongly of And Yet It Moves, an ace WiiWare platform puzzler where you rotated the screen to help your character move along. Here, you drag letters across the screen to solve word puzzles. Sounds bonkers, needs polishing, might get. |

| I agree with you guys as take Freedom Planet, it could of been a game I might pick up as it's like Sonic, so the nostalgia factor might of played apart of going to buy it but I'm buying because of the quality.
But I thought it was interesting what a long time Nintendo guy and industry vet thinks of Nintendo owners and basically saying why Nintendo systems don't get some indies & you could even say that with 3rd party games as well, As they don't buy the games that do come. |

Now that you mention it the aesthetic is similar to AYIM though I had strong Limbo vibes from it as well. |
