Picross e3 has done the unthinkable: it's introduced a new type of Picross, called Mega Picross, that not only isn't a silly gimmicky addition, but it challenges you to think differently. It's brilliant! This one comes highly recommended over e2, which didn't really try anything new. Those pictures don't count on any level.

I'm genuinely excited by this - it's the biggest puzzle evolution since Repton 2 included transporters. Let's Picross!  

Sounds good, on a side note, I want more 3D Picross.

Ditto on the Picross 3D front, I really enjoyed during a puzzle a day. Something about Picross 3D makes it feel even more satisfying to work your way to a solution, probably a mixture of the presentation and chiselling 3D cubes.

Has anyone picked up 3D Super Hang-on? I'm curious as to how the gyroscope controls are like, which are meant to emulate the original arcade experience.

3D Sonic the Hedgehog. Really cannot wait to give that a go.  

You'll have to let us know how it rolls (arf). In the meantime, I must finish Picross e3 before it consumes my life.

Curiousity got the better of me, and I've went and downloaded 3D Sonic The Hedgehog.

I've played through the first few zones (up to the end of Spring Yard Zone), and...it's exactly what you'd expect. Remember those NES classics that Nintendo brought out in the first few months of the eShop? It's basically another one of those, but featuring the first Sonic The Hedgehog. Think about the 3D effect in Kirby's Adventure or Kid Icarus - that's what we're talking here.

It's fine. Sonic 1 is still a good game, this version plays smoothly, the sound is spot-on, the spin-dash from Sonic Jam is in, and, well, that's pretty much it. All's good.

I own 17,000 copies of Sonic the Hedgehog already, so why do I want this version, I ask myself?

I wonder if we'll ever get that Sudoku + 7 other complex puzzles by Nikoli? Mention this because of that Akari game appearing on the shop.

I think so. I'll be snapping up Slitherlink as soon as that's published on the eShop, though I think Hudson's (I think it was Hudson) DS game that Greener reviewed will probably be better.

Wonder if the physical version with all 7 puzzles has been canned?

It looks like there's more going on sale than we were previously told,with the likes of Steamworld Dig and Mercenaries 3D dropping in price too. The big news, however, is the release of Mario Tennis (GBC) on the Virtual Console on January 2nd. What a treat.
