| I went into the festive period armed with exactly £35.00 in eShop credit. Just two games downloaded so far:
1. 3D Shinobi III was an insta-download, and has turned out fantastically well. It's my favourite in the series, and a great game in it's own right.
2. Attack of the Friday Monsters! isn't what I thought it was going to be. My memory of it (from a Nintendo Direct, maybe?) was of oversized monsters battling in rural Japan. Rural Japan is still there, but my time thus far has been spent exploring a town in what's mostly been an interactive storybook, with some leveling-up and a few odd card games chucked in. Maybe the monster-fighting will come. Anyhoo, for someone who freely admits his dislike of JRPG-type games, this is actually quite pleasant. I was surprised in a bad way, then surprised in a good way. There's quite a few of you on here who should download it.
~
The eShop is being an absolute git at the moment, so I can't be downloading anything else for now. That said, I'd quite like to hear some opinions (good and bad) on the following: Steamworld Dig, Bugs Vs. Tanks and Swords and Soliders 3D. I'm thinking about getting those while they're on sale. Ta.

| Here's what I posted about Steamworld dig else where on the forum: - Quote :
- Short and sweet, the mechanics are really clever as you essentially mine for loot to upgrade your character. I do wish it had a bit more action to it just to break up the mining a tad but otherwise definitely worthy of being a part of your e shop collection.

| Swords and Soldiers 3D is meant to be a really bad port riddled with framerate issues. Avoid (if you're fine with playing it on another platform).
SteamWorld Dig's great. It never outstays its welcome and constantly introduces new equipment/mechanics for you to play with. And the central premise of digging to go deeper never gets old regardless. It's so good I bought it twice on 3DS and PC, and it's a great game to speedrun through too.
Not to sure about Bugs Vs. Tanks, but it's reviewed poorly so exercise caution unless it looks like something you'll really enjoy, I guess. |

| Man alive, SteamWorld Dig is good. I'm only about three hours in, but early impressions are very promising. This and Attack of the Friday Monsters for under a tenner represents fantastic value for money - if you don't have them, grab them while they're on sale! |

| I can't wait to play Steamworld Dig but I need to get my Christmas money into an eShopable format!
Edit: Steamworld Dig is amazing! I also bought Crimson Shroud but that won't be getting played for a while. |

| Judging from NES Remix, we should be avoiding Mario Bros. like the plague with a neatly coiled poo on top. |

Agreed. When you think about it, Super Mario Bros. is one hell of an advancement in the franchise - if this happened today, the news sites would still be writing articles about this. |

| This is a surprise but "Weapons Shop De Omasse" has just been rated for release in Australia.

Quite excited about this - this is apparently the missing Guild01 game created by a Japanese comedian where you work in a shop and supply RPG characters with weapons. I never expected this to be localised.

| I am finally downloading SteamWorld Dig, after being bullied into it by the forum. You should all be ashamed of yourselves. |
