| Just curious, is all.
I see a lot of people kicking up f**k about the fact that they can't find Monster Hunter Tri Ultimate for less than £49.99, making it clear that there's 'no chance (they'd) pay £50 for a game, let alone a Wii U game'. Fair enough. That said, with the issues of stock and the resilience of some games to drop down in price, I can't be the only one who has paid £50 for a Wii U game...am I?
I paid £49.99 for New Super Mario Bros. U on launch day out of my local GAME. Steep, but at least I've been able to get the likes of LEGO City Undercover, Need For Speed Most Wanted U and ZombiU for less than £33 each...which is still quite steep! |

| £40. But I have all of two Wii U games, one of which was in a console bundle. I'm sorry, I just wanted to be part of the thing!
For what it's worth, though, I think that £50 is a bit steep, but that we'll have to get used to that sort of price as time goes by, inflation increases and £50 is worth less much (if that makes sense). And if most shops were ever selling something I really wanted at £50 (e.g. a big JRPG, a big Japanese adventure game, or most first party releases), I'd probably fork out. |

| If you don't factor in trade-ins, it'd be £49.99 from GAME for both NSMBU and Arkham City. If you do factor in trade-ins, we'd be looking at Darksiders II for £30 (if I remember rightly). I saw Darksiders II for £20 a few weeks ago! It's a strange life, being a gamer. |

| £39.85, that's ShopTo's top price for Wii U games. Little bit steep in my opinion, but it could be worse I suppose. |

| £40 and not a chance I'm paying any more unless it's some kind of special edition, this £50 price tag that comes with new consoles is and will always be a joke and once Wii U gets past this phase the better (for sales of the console as well as games). |

Things are definitely getting better - for example, I've seen Tekken Tag 2, Sonic Transformed, Darksiders 2 and Batman Arkham City for under £15, and I even picked up NSMBU and Nintendo Land for under a tenner each in Cash Convertors. Prices are falling already, thankfully. |

| I wouldn't be surprised if ps4 and 720 games are £55-60 at launch. jack treton did say ps4 games would be between 99c and $60 but I just can't see it myself well not at launch. |

| 40 notes for zombi U on launch day, which is a price I don't mind paying for console games even though its probably wise to hold off a few weeks after a games launch as most games drop fast in price. |

A couple of days ago I had a long chat with a friend who works in GAME and he said pretty much the same thing: Wii U games could be selling far better if the price went down by £10. Who wouldn't enjoy that? |

| I paid about £58 for the Skylanders Giants starter pack. I wanted the game from launch, but copies were depressingly hard to come by at the beginning. So much so that Amazon didn't even list it for the best part of a month.
I'd never pay that for an ordinary release, but this was excused because it came with the default extras. |

| I've been lucky, my local games shop rarely goes above 40 for anything. Whenever I pop into a Game when I'm out of town, I just laugh. Do people pay those prices? |

| £46 for ZombiU on launch week from Amazon. Worth every penny!
Though it was the most expensive launch game on a Nintendo platform since the N64 era, if I remember correctly (though I seem to remember retailers would price some GameCube games at £44.99). At Wii launch the most I paid was £39.99 for Twilight Princess and the same amount for Banana Blitz. |

| £42 for Lego City Undercover SE. But that's the only Wii U game I've bought. The others have been presents or came with it. But I think they're pushing their luck at the RRP being £50. |

| I wanted to look at this thread again as we've had a lot of talk about the prices of Switch games at launch with posts like this from Cappa (sorry Cappa) - The Cappuccino Kid wrote:
Hmm. It's yet more old games that are being quickly ported for an extra buck...but World of Goo and Little Inferno are pretty good all the same. They're out on tablets and mobile stores for a couple of quid each though, so let's hope that nobody tries to rip the piss and sell them for fifteen quid a pop or anything like that. Mind you, is there anything on the Switch that isn't a complete rip-off? That is true and not when you look at this thread and what we payed for games near the launch, of course we go on to see some drop rather quickly in price and the same may happen with Switch but then again the Wii U launched with 30 odd games not 5 at retail. I don't know if that will affect anything being less choice that the games will hold their money more as that's all we've got to buy. The only thing with the prices so far the bothers me are the eShop titles such as Binding of Isaac Afterbirth, Street Fighter II being confirmed to be $40 yet are $26 and $14.99 (USA in price as those are the confirmed prices so far). I don't mind as much Skylanders being £54.99 as that's the RRP ro around that price which is the same on the other systems, yes Cappa can bring up the Wii U version is now £19.99 but the RRP is still £54.99 or around that and I'm looking at its been out a while and has had a price drop on Wii U. Where on the eShop, it does look like we are getting shafted as we aren't paying the same as the other consoles, unless you feel Evil Ryu and Violent Ken are worth $25 more and unlike the retail games how often do eShop titles go down in price, not that often. So yeah RRP at launch for all the games at retail, they may go down they may not quickly but it should balance itself out at some-point but eShop does seem like it could be a joke. If I Am Setsuna is more then £32.99, Square |
