Definitely not, heck, I enjoyed Yoshi's Island DS.

May I ask what entices you about it?  (Not Treesmurf as he's obviously a nutter.)  Let's ignore the graphical style for a moment: what appeals?  Is it just that it's more Yoshi's Island?  Because I didn't see anything I could describe as "new".  Apart from the giant eggs, I suppose.

I don't personally care, though I'm sure I'd play it if I didn't have anything else, but my missus lives for Yoshi. She's played Yoshi's Story and Universal Gravitation and enjoyed them, never mind the two Island games. Between this and Yarn Yoshi she's well excited.

Intriguing that we haven't seen a peep from this game since (if I remember correctly) E3.

I never did play much of the originals so maybe that has something to do with it, plus Yoshi is cool.

I'm the same I've never played the Original Yoshi's island and never completed the DS game, in fact I think I have only completed 2 Yoshi games in all

Agreed with you on the last part. He deserves better.

Yarn Yoshi might be the game to do the chap justice - I do not hold high hopes for New Island (though I'll be following the scores in case I'm wrong, natch).

I think I've said it before if this is like super MARIO world 2: yoshi island then it be great if it's like Yoshi Story which it does look like then it will be muh at best.

Still mostly a Yoshi game.  

I can't see Yoshi's New Island being anything more than a soulless rerun of the original, minus the inventiveness. It'll use the gameplay mechanics set down by the original game in lesser ways. I hope I'm proved wrong, though.

We're better off playing through the original again (I think the GBA version is my most-played ambassador game, incidentally).

So, Mr. Tezuka, a.k.a. Mr. Yoshi's Old Island, is in charge of this. Better him than Artoon, but the game still looks incredibly unimaginative to me.  They have only shown what look like early levels, though. I wonder if it's like SM3DW, in that it's much better than they're making it look.

It could use a makeover more than anything truth be told.

Checked into this thread to say exactly what Balladeer has said, really. I was enlightened to hear that the project is at least being overseen by Mr. Tezuka, unlike Yoshi's Island 2, but it still looks like a rerun of the original game with new level layouts. Which means I'm not terribly excited about it.

Coming out 14th March! Everyone get excited!
