Awesome, glad to see they have removed Maya from a supporting role to, the chanelling story-line was cool, but a new direction is just what we need. I do hope the old characters make an appearance though, especially Larry!

You can buy the first three games on wiiware for 1000 points a game, probably cheapest to get them on ebay like you said though, however there is nothing like turning your TV up to max when Objecting.

the explosion you see in the trailer there is what's injured Apollo? We've all seen the picture of him with a bandage over his eye, I'm automatically assuming!
In any case, AA5 is a day one purchase. I've missed these games.

I may get them on WiiWare then, when I've finished Castlevania. Too many games...
As a Nintendo fanboy, this is a really weird complaint to have!

Is the story split between Nick and Apollo? I read somewhere that Apollo is the main focus of the game.
Really glad to see that they've kept the cartoony, hammy animations in there. I'm less happy to see Maya missing, but I'm hoping that one of the cases will tie her in somewhere. They like tying their old characters into things, do they not?
Balla: the PW games hold their value on eBay, but they're well worth it. Also: play them in order, obviously.
We NEED Layton vs. Ace Attorney in English, STAT!

We really do, although I do keep hearing the rumor that it will happen near the end of the year
This is another one of those situations where the releases need to be carefully staggered. There's Layton 6, Layton Vs. Ace Attorney and Ace Attorney 5 that could all be released around the same time. It'd make sense to have Layton Vs. Ace Attorney out in the UK before AA5, so that people could be introduced to Phoenix after a spell out of the limelight.

So yesterday I read this: http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2013/05/phoenix_wright_ace_attorney_dual_destinies_confirmed_for_this_fall_in_the_west The gist: it's coming out in autumn but will be download only.

I hope I don't have to complete all the four games before it for the fifth to make sense, as I got halfway through the second one some time ago and got really, really bored. First one was genius, second one bored me to tears!

Yeah Justice wasn't the best in my opinion except for the final case, do love trials and tribulations.
Also read up on as to why Capcom is only doing digital:
Quote :
Historically it's been tough to attract long term retail support for Ace Attorney titles. With the release of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies we wanted as many people as possible to be able to enjoy the game for as long as possible
Which is fair enough.. It was really hard getting the games down here, like for Investigations you had to pre order it or else you wouldn't see it at all

I'm glad it's coming to the west at least, but I'll be pretty miffed if the price is high. I know it's a full game but paying £30-40 for something that drifts in cyberspace and doesn't even have a decent account system worries me. I don't know for sure but it'll be interesting to see if I just lose all my download games when I get another 3DS, which if I'd bought something for that much I'd be really rather annoyed.

I'm getting further and further behind here... What's the best way to experience/acquire the older games? eBay?
I had to search hard to find a physical copy of Justice For All last week, would have downloaded it on WiiWare, but I didn't want to sit at a console to play it.

I had a quick go on the Japanese demo for this, and boy does it look good! The courtroom scenes in particular feel very fresh, despite the actually game elements pretty much remaining the same (again, it was the first case).
Didn't want to play too much, though, as I don't want to spoil the case with a language barrier.
