New Super Mario Bros. Wii and Drill Dozer are up this week. I've got fond memories of NSMBWii, though playing it with a N64/GBA/GameCube-owning mate while having to constantly explain what to do (as amazing as that might read) remains one of my most infuriating gaming experiences.
I imported Drill Dozer a few years ago, and truth be told I wasn't that impressed. I'd say that it's worth £6.29 if you're thinking about downloading it, but I doubt it's a game that you'd ever be running around daft about, telling everybody how good it is. |

| I saw the notice about Wave Race and 1080 Snowboarding, and was a little tempted. Does anyone know if they still hold up? |

| I got 'em both but never played the originals. I'm really into Wave Race 64 but have yet to get the hang of 1080. The 'buy one, get one half price' offer on them both is also over now, I think. |

I played wave race a year or so ago and it definitely still holds up, mainly because of how great the water physics are. |

| Wave Race 64 deserves to be remembered as one of the N64's best, due not only to - as Jaster has said - the amazingly realistic water physics, but because of the masterful controls. I was playing through the Wii U Virtual Console version a couple of weeks ago, and it's as easy a recommendation today as it was back in the N64 days. It's still brilliant.
For a number of little reasons, I've never been fully convinced by 1080° Snowboarding. It's got good variety and a lot of content compared to Wave Race 64, but for me it's a lot more complicated. Still, it's a good (if inessential) game that plays well on Wii U. Like with Wave Race 64, playing it in 60hz makes a surprising amount of difference. |

| Do I put here or the games thread in the Retro section (move admins if you want but I may go off track) A Dream may come true for Jay and I thought I'd better share From a very much a click bait article from Eurogamer which I read late last night or early this morning (Skittles on a Wednesday), NLife have also posted a similar article on this as well. Axis fav Emily Rodgers (Twitter now deleted) who doesn't get much wrong had been teasing on her a Twitter that Nintendo will be celebrating a games 10th anniversary in 2016 that isn't Twilight Princess with a few other hints for people to think this is happening for the Wii U VC. Looking at games that came out in 2006 there isn't much else to celebrate that came out that year from Nintendo which isn't already on a VC or has a re-release of some-sort but Mother 3 is already out in Japan where the 10th anniversary would matter but I would guess wait for E3 and see if it's 3 Earthbound games in a row announced there. |

| Well that'd certainly be interesting. I've not finished Mother, mind, and I understand that #3 is really sad! I don't know if I can do it |

| I really, really hope this is true. Mother 3 is a damn fine game - so good in fact it ruined Earthbound for Balla because he played Mother 3 before it. Please, Nintendo. Please let this be true. |

| While I'll snap this up day 1, I don't know if it ruined Earthbound for me, or whether playing the aged relic on the Wii U was just the wrong choice for me. I suppose I never shall... |

| I think you'd have loved it had you not played Mother 3 beforehand. At its core Earthbound is an excellent game, but Mother 3 improves on it in nearly every department so it would seem dated by comparison. |

| Just bought Fire Emblem Sacred Dragon the DS game on Wii U as it was in the sale for £4.49 (you got to search for it) and still earned my first lot of gold on My Nintendo even though it's not £4.50 or above as you earn points on the original price.
Not sure when I'll actually play it though but nice to have 3 FE games on the Wii U. I hope we get Path of Radiance on the Wii VC. |

| I've just seen that Super Mario RPG is out in the US, is this them getting it first or do we already have it on our VC? |

| It's always intrigued me since this is basically where the Paper Mario series sprouted from. |

| It's a good 'un, although it feels more like an RPG than Paper Mario does - suppose that's to be expected, considering it comes from Square. The writing isn't as good either, if I recall correctly. |

| In the biggest crime since The Great Train Robbery, Kirby: Power Paintbrush has only one review on the eShop just now...and it's got one star out of five. I'm half tempted to pay the £9 to download it just to right that dreadful wrong, even though I can see my two (!) copies of the game from where I'm typing this.
One out of five - shite! |

| TurboGrafx-16 games coming to US Wii U VC. If I'd had to choose a console from the Wii's VC to bring to the Wii U's VC, the TurboGrafx-16 would have been pretty low on the list (the Mega Drive surely top). Also, this is pretty late on, isn't it? Still, more choice is good for the consumer. |
