Amazing 2DS sales in the UK last week!

They have basically killed off the free sharing-among-friends service in Japan due to "abuse". You can still use the global option, but you have to pay. Given the current controversy, I can't see them being in any rush to bring it over here....

Sorry Phlips! It sounds like it's attached photos etc. that are the real concern. I can understand Nintendo's worry - they are he automatic reference for "BY CHILDREN" in the media, so if the tabloids say that "CHILDREN HAVE BEEN USING THEIR NINTENDOS TO SEND AND RECEIVE FILTH FROM PAEDOS" they'll never hear the end of it. But, as usual, this is the parents' fault for not guiding them on what they should/shouldn't be doing on the internet.

So there you go. Nintendo's system being associated with this would not be a good look.

I've noticed that Pokemon X/Y no longer has the "lets be friends!" option when battling randoms online either.

3DS Direct on the 13th.  Focusses on previously announced 3DS games, to be released in Q1.  Yoshi's New Island to suddenly look good?

If the latter happens, I will be very impressed. Has there been a Nintendo series with worse diminishing returns than Yoshi's Island?

The Goomba is the best character in the ND. (Although he has now been upstaged by pocket red Pikmin and desk Bulborb.)

Agreed. I'm not interested in football or Animal Crossing Plaza, although the eShop stuff did look good.

Oh, and if the person who starts the Nintendo Pocket Football Club thread doesn't call it "Nintendo Pocketo Football Crub", I will upset.

Ah well, at least that ending helped redeem the boring parts. A shame I don't have a Wii U, is the 3ds Mario World as fun as that trailer for the Wii U version looked?

I'm normally not one for laughing at the Japanese accent but it really sounded like he was calling it Football Crap.
So for 3DS news, it basically amounted to some games I'm not fused about, and Zelda and Bravely Default which I already knew I was getting. Then some great Mario stuff which blew all the the 3DS gubbins out of the water.

Wow. Nothing on Kirby 3D, YNI, Monster Hunter 4, Mario Golf World Tour... I thought this was going to be about next quarter's 3DS games? Is this Nintendo's way of saying there will be none? Because that's fine - my 3DS has been spoiled recently. But you didn't need a Direct to say that!

I guess a lot of people will be happy about 3DS Miiverse though. Meh.

I was also bored, Miiverse was the most exciting thing. I will try pocket football etc but nothing wowed me here with likes of zelda mere days away.

The 3DS one is fun indeed, but it doesn't have the turnaround of ideas that galaxy had and which this looks like it's going to have.

I don't even think it was next quarter, just the really immediate future.

Well they were certainly plugging the rest of this year. I'm guessing that we'll get a proper Q1 Direct some time in December.

NO.  But them, I'm one of the game's bigger detractors.  It's good, just not 3D Mario good.  Or SMW good.  Or even NSMBU good.

I'm hoping the miiverse is same on both systems, so i can talk about wii u games on my 3ds and vice versa. Also I was hoping for something on monster hunter 4 seeing as Korea are now getting it.
