Wii U news thread

This be the thread I was going to make about the Wii U

Well, we've had rather a lot of Wii U news this week, haven't we? Also: my enthusiasm is renewed somewhat now that we have a few more games pencilled in for the year.

Aye, I am a happier gamer after the recent Nintendo Direct. In our hearts of hearts we knew that there were Mario, Zelda and Mario Kart games coming up but the surprises have all been pleasant ones. Now to start saving my pennies!

We know nothing about them and we're still happy. As it should be.

If this were GameFAQs, we'd have twelve pages of people whingeing about absolutely nothing by now.

Whereas CVG would be pining over the lack of originality as they buy the latest CoD with the other hand.

One of these days I'm going to write an article in the Community forum about how originality is overrated in games. It will be completely bait-tastic.

Can't beat a bit of deliberate troll fodder from time to time.

So it turns out that Aus won't be getting the Wii U Walking Dead game as well to put it basically "no one wants it"

Don't think we really want it either, do we?

As much as I like Walking dead the survival Intinct FPS game looks really bad, I don't think it will get anywhere near Zombi U quality wise but it will no doubt sell well due to the brands strength.

Got a very positive response on PS3 and 360, I can somehow see the Wii U version turning out to be a shoddy port though.

Ahh right, not even heard of it until now. Still a shame though given the popularity of the series.

Yeah the one everyone loves is a story based Telltale Affair. This one is an FPS coming to all consoles that does't really suit the style I believe. Never seen a good word about it at least.

Aye, the devs just don't have a good track record (responsible for stuff like Bloodrayne & kinect star wars) & everything I've seen of it just screams cash in.

So it seems that a leaked Watch Dogs poster which claims the title is due for release on "all home consoles" has sparked rumours of the Ubisoft title heading to our favourite dual-screened machine that only actually comes with one screen out of the box and doesn't fit in your pocket.

Now this could work- we saw at the E3 reveal that the main 'thing' in the game was the phone the player character carries, which would work with the GamePad very well- and even if it doesn't, we've still got one of the bigger Other Format games in our arsenal. Discuss.

Anyhow, Watch_Dogs has always seemed likely to appear on wii U imo.......despite the recent rayman delay shenanigans Ubisoft is still one of its big third party supporters, its almost like folk have forgotten that in recent weeks.

Still Watch Dogs- even if it's not Wii U optimised, it's still a solid OF title on Wii U. Suck on that, Borderlands 2.

Ubisoft were happy with the sales of Zombi U so this doesn't surprise me. Its nice to see at least one western company acknowledging there are dedicated gamers in every garden.

I wish but I hope this provokes Rockstar into a Wii U port of GTA V.
