| New 3D Sonic Platformer, published by Nintendo, exclusive to Wii U and 3DS. Quite a coup. Nothing revealed, just a brief image of Sonic flying a biplane towards what looked like Battleworld from Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars.
Also, Yakuza 1&2 HD Collection revealed for Wii U (in Japan, at least) along with a new Mario and Sonic at the Winter Olympic Games. |

| A good coup for Nintendo. We may actually see a somewhat decent 3D Sonic game again if Nintendo have a hand in its production. People like this can fuck right off though. |

| I am hugely excited over this, more so than any other of today's announcements, as it happens. Say what you will, but we've had some really rather good Sonic games of late ( Generations and Sonic Colours), and that's not forgetting the superb Rush DS series. That Nintendo has claimed this deal is hopefully an indication of the continuing quality of the new breed of Sonic games. I'm feeling the Sonic love at the moment. |

“The onetime rivalry between Mario and Sonic has grown into a friendship that has never been closer,” said Nintendo of America President and COO Reggie Fils-Aime. “These announcements in conjunction with SEGA demonstrate the commitment we have to bringing great games to the Wii U platform, and set the stage for our upcoming announcements at E3.”
Does this indicate partnerships with other companies as well? |

| The one screen shot that was shown gave me Mario Galaxy vibes. |

| Sonic Colours had a Galaxy-esque vibe on occasion. Only in visual scope, of course; it didn't resemble Galaxy in any way other than that. |

| I loved Colours on Wii. I thought the sense of humour was a bit on the kiddy side, but it fits the original Sonic tone perfectly and simply gives you a reason to push forward. None of that shitty broodiness that came after Sonic Adventure. It plays a very tight game of Sonic with memorable levels, gorgeous visuals and a very memorable theme tune: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z6NfCfof6Lo
Watch it in HD to get the full effect. I need to revisit the game myself and polish my runs.
I've not played the HD version of Generations yet (though I do own it), but I believe that treesmurf liked the game very much indeed. |

| Generations was OK, Colours not so OK to me. There's just something about them that just made me feel like I was just watching a level playing itself with a couple of quick time events. The only bit I really enjoyed was the City Escape level and that was more for the remix of the song (One of the few gaming tunes I care for). Colours biggest problem from me ws that it dissagreed with my wii and left a grey haze over the screen at all times. Might take it for a spin on the Wii U to re-evaluate but I remember the cutscenes were painful. |

Agreeing with this, though I don't think I loved it quite as much as others. I could have done without a lot of the Whisp stuff, to be honest. Still brilliant on Wii, natch. I'd quite happily call the HD version of Generations a classic. One of my favourite games ever. ~ On topic, I think this is excellent news. I'm hoping for some of SEGA's upcoming downloadable stuff, like Castle of Illusion. I'll also make a bold prediction: Football Manager to find it's way onto Wii U. |

| I completely missed this when watching Nintendo Direct (in a crowded room on the pad only so that's my excuse) always good to have a new Sonic though given recent efforts and the Olympic games looked like the best yet, always quite been a fun series but the gamepad looks like it's gonna take it to the next level. |

| Colours on Wii was a mighty fine piece of software. True, the humour grated - though there were some gems in Robotnik's announcements - but it was just fun. To ape Phillips, back on-topic, I am well up for further Sonic on Nintendo consoles. An exclusivity deal makes good economic sense, too. There is no bad here. |

| What made me laugh was that in the Japanese Nintendo Direct, the Nintendo logo morphed into the SEGA logo and it was called "SEGA Direct" for the first 20 minutes. Link here if you didn't see it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=77IT-rWMl3s&feature=youtu.be |

I'm of an age where that is still a scary third-reich-style situation. |

| Thanks Balla, I think if Nintendo are going to show SEGA love, with some of there IPS. They need to start doing some more if SEGA wont spend the money there self like with bayonetta 2 and Nintendo are will to take the risk on things that they wouldn't is great. so Nintendo publish shenmue 3 please |
