| I've never played a Monster Hunter game, although I've listened to plenty of discussions about it on the 8-4 Play podcast. Maybe I should start with the 3DS one. |

No, I did link this thread with its 3DS counterpart and vice-versa. If anything I thought the 3DS one would be quieter. |

| I do look forward to taking the demo for a spin. I'm mainly intrigued to see how much effort Capcom has put into the visual aspect of the game. |

| Same actually. Not that visuals are hugely important, but we're using a HD console these days, some extra effort would be nice, y'know? |

Nope, no announced console bundles yet. This is now outdated, from Nintendo Direct onwards. I might consider getting this. It'd be nice to go online with the NGamer lot. |

| Here's a pic of the lovely bundles shame the consoles aren't branded in anyway though. Though you could buy this for your 3DS from the Capcom Store which is only $19 Balla, good to hear you're considering it.......the demo is out tomorrow so I'd start there to get feel for it. (can't remember if you've played an MH game before or not) |

Nope. I've always thought there was something kinda messed up about it, actually - a game based solely around killing innocent animals in their own habitat. But if there's another goal to it, like, say, playing online with others, it doesn't seem quite so... blood sport-like. |

| Playing online with others is my favourite part of MH, the story (yes MH has a story) albeit simple explains that the monsters are actually in some cases not in there natural habitat. |

| After spending a crazy number of hours on Tri, I finally have a reason to buy a Wii U. I was going to buy one this month, but the hot water tank died and cost a pretty penny to replace, so next month at the earliest now. Can't wait to go hunting again. |

Not your thing then? Tri was my first Monster Hunter game and I fell in love with it. Not up to my love of Fire Emblem, but still high. |

| The very thought of hearing OS' voice on voice chat is reason enough to buy this. In my head, it's the Australian equivalent of posh British. |

| Played the demo for about two hours, that's four quests trying out each of the new weapons. Quest 1 w/ Gunlance: Threw myself into the deep end with the hard quest (Plesioth) straight away, I've fought this beast on MHFU but here he is less frustrating to fight as you can follow him into the water & continue the fight still does massive damage though Outcome: Quest Complete Quest 2 w/ Hunting HornThis is the easy quest (Lagombi) this rabbit bear thing is new to me, also my first time using the HH weapon too, loved the weapon & see it being very useful in co-op as you give yourself & teammates status buff etc. Outcome: Quest complete Quest 3 w/ Bow (vs Lagombi) I was all over the place with my aiming on this one, never been a fan of range weapons due to that, though I know they work well in co-op & in the right hands so I may practice this more. Outcome: Quest Failed (time limit expired) Quest 4 w/ Dual Swords (vs Plesi) Also new to this weapon but I really enjoyed it as I managed to paralyse plesi twice draw back is not being able to block, though that is offset with fast movement & a demon meter that once built up allows you to dash small distances for a limited time. Fun weapon. Outcome: Quest Failed (time limit expired) |
