| So, by a nosehair (er, one vote) Super Metroid won the most recent poll for our Let's All Play threads.
If you can manage to pry yourself away from Animal Crossing or The Last of Us, then let's get dissecting and playing through Super Metroid. It's the best 2D Metroid and arguably the best Metroid period, so if you've not played it before, you're in for a treat. If you have, who knows, speed-run it? It's a very speedrunnable game.
I've never actually beaten it, I got all the way to removing the Golden Many-Bosses Statue, but somehow never went the final distance to do in Mother Brain. Hoping to put it away for good this time.
I'll keep this thread up before moving onto the next game for as long as discussion trickles into it - looking forward to hearing your thoughts on Super Metroid! |

| I've started last week, so I hope I can piggyback this.
Just beat "camp jazz hands" Kraid. Seriously, what's with the hands? |

| I had no idea what you were on about, but now that you mention it... Does look like he's waving then yelling "HI!" |

| I was afraid that this would win, but not because it isn't great, it is, I already finished this recently. |

| I will get down to playing this, but in between two 3DS games and three GBC Zeldas, I don't have a lot of spare gaming time... |

| Started off playing yesterday. I've always known that Metroid draws inspiration from Alien (Ripley Scott/Ridley) but the opening of Super Metroid really drives it home.
Also, it's been a while since I've played this and I reckon I'm already lost. |

| I've got up to the high jump boots and cannot work out where the hell I can go now. Gah!
Edit: Lost again, I've got Power Bombs and the fast run (can't remember what the last thing I got was). How annoying are wall jumps? |

Does look like he's waving then yelling "HI!" Great, once seen, never unseen... thanks Moyles... Like AndyMan, I'm also lost. |

| Pro tip: bomb and shoot everything in all available rooms, this usually (for me) reminds me about a new item/weapon I have to use to progress. |
