| BUMP AGAIN - End-BotW Spoilers:
I'd put end-boss Ganon firmly in the 'best' category. In his first form, he was rock hard, very well designed, and just in general a good fun battle. In his second form, he was easy, but then I wouldn't have wanted to slog through the first form again anyway - great though he was, he was very tough. And he was epic. As. All. Heck.
The elemental Ganons, though, lean closer to the other side of things. I really didn't like how they all had the same slightly edited design/music, even if their tactics were all different.

| I'd definitely agree on the former; very epic, very creepy, and excellently tested all the various combat mechanics of the preceding game. As for the latter, I'd call them forgettable more than anything. I'd see the Divine Beasts themselves as cool boss fights though, in a sense. |

I think the ease of taking down Ganon in beast form marred that fight a little bit for me, but I appreciated it for its cinematic qualities. Thumbs up to the actual duel with Calamity Ganon himself - loved his design!

| Yeah I loved all of that fight & I didn't mind the elemental boss designs either as it made sense because of what they were. |

The first phase made you feel pitiful, and the second phase made you feel like a god. That's the right way around, I feel.

| Yeah, I'm with Balla here. That feeling was worth much more than a generic "hard final boss" |

| I never do like it when final bosses use the last "fight" for a glorified scripted victory lap like the final phase of botw. Just give me a epic cutscene instead if the actual challenge is over. Best final bosses are the ones constantly pushing you to their dying breath, until you're left wondering if they're actually ever going to go down, like the first phase. They're the most memorable ones at any rate, and it feels so good when a final boss that made you work for the win goes down. |

| To each their own, I'd feel beyond cheated if they'd replaced that final phase with a cut-scene. 'Wondering if they're ever going to go down' sounds like a pain in the proverbial to me!
Which incidentally reminds me of the final boss (the final proper boss anyway) of Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time. A boss steeped in atmosphere and with some truly great music (shush Jay), but which I actually had to stop halfway through the first time because it took chuffing ages, and was actually more dull than anything else. Cinematic's good, but it shouldn't take too long, especially when there's no indication of how close the boss is to death. |

| I've always felt the final boss in Resident Evil 4 was a huge let down. Way too easy - I had more issues on the jet ski section! |

| Likewise, gjones - likewise! I did enjoy my second playthrough of RE4, though, when you bowl up with the rocket launcher and make instant mincemeat of the douchebag. Then there's this guy. I can't decide whether he's the best or the worst... certainly very exacting, whatever you believe! Star Fox Zero's Andross |

| I actually really appreciate a boss that isn't just a slog. I loved the final phase of the *that boss* and I much prefer the fights with Gwyn and Vendrick to the tougher but less narratively satisfying likes of Soul of Cinder in the Souls games. |
