Pokkén Tournament DX (Beat 'Em Lillipup On Switch)

Debating whether to just make this into a Pokken thread.  Anyway, a couple of relevant trademarks have been filed.  I predicted (in the thread for such things) that Pokken would be a Christmas game, and I'm still inclined to do so.

Assuming this is what we think it is, who do people want to fight as?  It looks like bipedal monsters only, but I hope it's not restricted to fighting types.  I'd quite like to see all three Kalos starter final evolutions in there: Chesnaught in the Astaroth build, Greninja as Taki, and Delphox as Kilik.

I think Mewtwo and sceptile could be good candidates. Mewtwo for obvious reasons and sceptile is a good bipedal pokemon that has some really cool potential for a fighting game moveset, it could use its once signature move leaf blade in a variety of interesting ways and pad out the rest of its set with its other moves.

And even though it has no chance of actually making it in, I'd like to see gengar, just because of all the crazy stuff it could do if they put the effort in to making it a trickster.

Wii U release confirmed (American?) spring 2016, time for this to get promoted to official thread status?

Me & Balla were looking for this thread a while ago and couldn't find it.

Nice to see it's coming to the U and the console gets more then a download as a Pokemon game, I'm going it's out March.

Yup, good shout. I'll very possibly pick this up. It'll be the first time I've played a non-Smash pure fighting game since the Gamecube and SCII.

This is a 100% must-by for me. Loved Tekken back in the PS1 days; used to sit up until late playing with my dad, and whenever I started winning it would miraculously be bedtime. Plus, obviously, Pokémon.

Also, did someone try to tell me this wouldn't be coming to Wii U a while back? They can do one...

Just watched the trailer - it's a real looker, that game. Also, while Luchachu is nice enough (I'd have preferred Hawlucha), I hope that we don't have half the cast being Pikachu forms.

Been watching some of the game on twitch, it's very different take on the fighters from the tekken team. It does look a bit like some of the Naruto & DBZ games which Namco also make from a gameplay view.

This goes without saying, whatever the situation. That said, a Lucha Pikachu is amazing.

Not big on fighters but this seems like a great way to get in to them, surely we'll see Hawlucha make an appearance, it's a no brainier really.

Odd seeing Suicune as a character, thought they'd have stuck go bipedl 'Mon.

It's Tekken-based - Heihachi as an unlockable character? With this track playing on his stage, natch.

It is a bit odd that Greninja isn't there, being a ninja and everything (clue's in the name) but I think it's time for a Luchador Pikachu amiibo.

Jim, you've given me mad thoughts - there'll surely be a range of Pokkén Tournament amiibi to accompany the game. I've been dreading the release of more Pokéamiibi - it'll be carnage in the shops with all the mad keen young'uns, grabbing yer Blazikens, Suicunes and the like from shelves and dropping £60 of parental money in one go. Still... good for the economy.

He's actually from a manga, so he was already a cameo character in Tekken! But they've had other raptors, and bears and demons...

I din't know he was from a Manga, I know about the others as Tekken one of my favs, I scored high in SONM fighter quiz when it was Tekken week but the others don't seem to fit to me with the Pokemon Universe unless they get a bit of a redesign.

We may have a date for this well at least in USA as the official controller is coming out March 18th and why bring out a controller made for one game before the game is out.

And March is Spring which is the current date for the West.
