| Sonic with the best 2D platformer ever in pocket adventure or CD that's a hard choice.
I'm not saying Legends is bad or anything I voted for it fairly highly and like I said best 2D platformers in years but to me it will never be good as the classic as you put it. Like Kobe Bryant will never be as good as Michal Jordan. |

Look at that satsuma!" But this is perfect. When they said they were bringing back a time limit, I was a tad worried. It turns out they knew exactly what they were doing. You will be disappointed when you've finished this. And co-op-ing the extra missions! First time round = "there's no way to get a platinum medal on this". 2 hours and 12 goes later, sorted. And then they sold you some more! My DLC rule *pretentious* states that £1 should = 1 hour of fun. Definitely got that. And bingo battle! And! Cube said: Full of charm and wonder, while being tense and difficult. andyman949 said: There were 3 reasons I wanted a Wii U and this was the main one. After falling in love with the first and finally finishing the second I couldn't wait to see the beautiful Pikmin world in HD and I was not disappointed. Unlike Pikmin 2 the new Pikmin weren't a pain to get hold of and really added to the game. Who can forget their first time not quite breaking a glass barrier and watching the Rock Pikmin repeatedly running into it like a bird flying into a window? My only regret is that I can't get anyone to play the co-op missions with me! Axis1500 said: Engrossing strategy game. Really enjoyable. Buskalilly said: I finally completed Pikmin 2 only a matter of days before this was released, so I didn't really feel like playing it. But from the brief time I spent with it, mostly on the multiplayer mode, I got enough of a taste of the graphics and the controls and the sumptuous Pikmin feeling to know it deserved a place on this list. I expect it will place much higher if I voted again after playing it, but for now I'm saving it for next year's game drought. The Cappuccino Kid said: Unparalleled in its field. Accessible, but intellectually rigorous while it’s at it, this is the acme of strategy gaming on any Nintendo console. The_Jaster said: A game we all waited years for and it was definitely worth it, I can happily play the mission mode for hours......oh its 3am?I'll have just one more go. masofdas said: Took a while to come out but this was the first game to make the Wii U really worth owning Jolly Smurf said: A real beauty of a game, by no means re-invented the Pikmin wheel but was still full of some great moments, locations and creatures. The challenge maps and DLC add a nice bit of length to the game. Stu_the_great said: I haven't finished this game yet because I find it extremely stressful to play at times, but what I've seen so far is a solid and colourful continuation of a series, albeit one that played it a bit safe. Kirby's Epic Yarn this ain't, but it's a solid addition to the Wii U's library. I say: Typical - the only game in the top ten that I've not played is the winner. Pikmin and I have never seen eye to eye but plenty of voters made a persuasive case for its genius, and its stunning beauty is undeniable. Your comments say more for Pikmin 3 than I could manage here - Jimbob's in particular!
Huge thanks to everyone who took part in this thread - it's been a blast. Over the next few days I'll be adding a few more bits and pieces - dishonourable mentions in particular! |

A complete boxed release of Wii Sports Club would surely have gotten plenty of votes. Ditto NES Remix, had we done the vote now. Although it wouldn't have troubled my top five, both it and EDGE would have been in my top ten. There wasn't a vast amount of love for eShop exclusives, all told - more on that story later. |

| No complaints here about the winner as pikmin 3 is an excellent game & that mission mode is fantastically addictive, however looking over the top ten again I'd personally bump out Lego City or wind waker to make room for zombi U which at the very least deserved a top 5 finish.
Out of interest how many points did it get, ZJ? |

| Thanks to Zero Jones for all the effort that he's put into this. Certainly, I feel it's been one of the most enjoyable vote threads we've had on NGamer/GNamer. Even without ZombiU, I think we can all be happy with that top ten. It must be quite consistent with what we each had. On that, here was my list: - Spoiler:
1. Super Mario 3D World 2. Pikmin 3 3. Rayman Legends 4. Lego City Undercover 5. Need For Speed Most Wanted U 6. New Super Mario Bros U 7. Tekken Tag Tourament 2: Wii U Edition 8. Sonic Transformed 9. Sonic Lost World 10. The Wonderful 101
It's not all been doom and gloom in the Wii U's first year. We've stuck by it, and I think we've been handsomely rewarded with some excellent stuff. I'd like to think that the Wii U has had it's rough patch and can only improve from here. |

| Can't grumble at this, it's a damn fine game * forgets about the terrible end boss*. Here was my top ten if anybody cares... - Spoiler:
1. Super Mario 3D World 2. Pikmin 3 3. The Wonderful 101 4. Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate 5. Batman: Arkham City 6. New Super Mario Bros U 7. NintendoLand 8. ZombiU 9. Sonic & All Stars Racing 10. LEGO City Undercover
A few 'out of interest' questions if you have the time to answer, ZJ.
- What game came 11th? (Guessing it was ZombiU)
- What was the most voted-for eShop-only game?
- Did New Super Luigi U get many votes? (I was unsure whether this counted as its own game or DLC when I was voting)
- And finally, who else placed Super Mario 3D World at the top of their list? I'd like to shake their hands

| I'm not sure anyone would have picked up another version over the Wii U version (though I would recommend the Vita version over it now the invasion levels are in).
The Cave might have received a dishonourable mention if I'd spent any money on it or actually remembered it existed. |

And finally, who else placed Super Mario 3D World at the top of their list? I'd like to shake their hands 1) Batman: Arkham City Armoured Edition came 11th, with 23 points, 5 votes and 1 first place. Before I placed it top it was 14th. 2) Little Inferno, which was 16th with 8 points, 2 voters and 0 first places. 3) New Super Luigi U attracted 3 voters, including myself. As a boxed release, it did count as its own game. 4) The others who voted SM3DW as top were Axis1500, Buskalilly and The Cappuccino Kid. As you've seen, one point separated it from Rayman Legends. - Axis1500 wrote:

If they did, they didn't declare it. The only game that got into the top ten where someone hadn't played the Wii U version was Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed (I went back and edited accordingly ). Later today I'm hoping to get an eShop exclusive Top Five out there, along with all the honourable and dishonourable mentions.

Will you be posting the Top 27 (was it that many games you said) in full as I'm curious what was last and were my 5th choice which seemed to get a few mentions all ready and my 9th choice which I'm guessing only I voted for. Ohh look only 5 out of 13 people voted for ZombiU, so much for it being a top 5 game like some though it would be. |

1.Rayman Legends 2.Zombi U 3.MH3U 4.Pikmin 3 5.The Wonderul 101 6.Nintendo Land 7. Mario Bros U 8.Batman Arkham city 9.Sonic Racing 10. Need for speed: Most wanted U

| Nah not to hard for me I just like proper survival horror games like resident evil (not 5 & 6), silent hill, fatal frame for instance and looking forward to evil within which looks like is going to get back to what the genre should be. Also played long enough to know what the game is like 12 mins demo on my wiiu, a good hour or so playing on ibbsters wiiu and 30mins ish in GAME on a demo unit, so nearly 1hr 45mins in total which I will never get back.
9th. Call of Duty: Black Ops II, This for a while was my most played Wii U game single player was okay, zombies sucked but online multi player was decent unlike other systems there wasn’t 11 year old kids screaming abuse. Everyone was mature and tried to work as a team, also playing modes like CTF was great as the map was on the gamepad.
10th. Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, Just sneaks in I’ve not played much of it by myself but when I’ve joined up with other’s from here it’s been really fun.
So MH3U could be higher if I ever get around to playing it, so that's my fault really but i did vote for it along with 8 in the top 10. |

| I'm not ZombiU's biggest fan but how anyone can describe it as not proper survival horror. It has all the deliberately awkward menus and combat that you could possibly ask for. For the record I voted for ZombiU but that was based on its multiplayer.
As for your point about CoD that really is ridiculous, I can't say I've ever encountered an abusive 11 year old on CoD on any system and even if I did it's irrelevant because there's a mute button. |

Yeah it was awkward to play but not in the same way as a resident evil 2 is awkward. I will give it the multi player which wasn't bad on ZombiU. Really no abuse ever (mainly 360 versions of COD, and now PS4 as well which i guess is people they've gone from 360 to PS4) your lucky, I know there's mute options but not really the point is it also like I said the Wii U community ever time I played a mode like CTF people tried working together. I've not found that once any other time on any COD (I've played all of them on consoles). Also bringing up CTF the game pad was great for that sort of mode. |

Zombi U is everything the genre should be though, tense & atmospheric having to be always on the look out for ammo/enemies & the weapons were satisfying to use as well & as for the menus? You grow used to them & learn these little short cuts to help manage your inventory quicker which is a key skill in my book. I think a total play time of 1 hour 45 mins (in 3 separate sessions) isn't giving it a fair crack, assuming you started over each time you would've barely got past opening/tutorial phase. A big problem with some who dislike it is that they may be approaching it like your normal fps ( or thinking it might be like left 4 dead) if you try to play it like this then you're going to have a frustrating time. |

| I thought Zombi u was excellent, it scared me plenty. My only annoyance was that if you died on the last bit (like me!) then no matter how well you posted the rest of the game, you got the crap ending. Here's my top ten, for solidarity. - I've left my comments on because I just copied and pasted my original message to ZeroJones and can't be arsed to edit it:
10 New Super Luigi U It feels more like an expansion pack than a new game, but that never stopped Super Mario Galaxy 2! It was tougher than the skin on a hooker's knees and it did very little that was new, but it plays well and it deserves a vote in this, the Year of Luigi.
9 Batman: Arkham City I only owned a Wii throughout the entirety of the last gen, but the Arkham games very nearly tempted me over. When City was announced for Wii U I was properly excited, and it didn't disappoint. It wasn't the best port and it didn't make great use of the gamepad, but its still one of the best games of recent years. Nothing makes me feel like Batman like stalking through the shadows, picking off armed guards as they become more and more terrified. A game so good, I went and bought it again when they released it this year. (That was a clever jab at Arkham Origins, by the way.)
8 Pikmin 3 I finally completed Pikmin 2 only a matter of days before this was released, so I didn't really feel like playing it.
7 Zombi U Not quite the kick-ass launch game we all wanted, but also not the Red Steel embarassment we all secretly feared, this was a slice above the rest. A real survival horror like they don't make any more, this was unbelievably tense and full of great ideas. The multiplayer was a lark as well, but like the rest of the game its just crying out for a sequel that delivers better on the ideas the game had.
6 Nintendoland This was absolutely the Wii U's Wii Sports, and is the first game since those games which I am confident I can sit literally anyone down with and they'll immediately understand why it is great.
5 New Super Mario Bros. U Not particularly original for the most part, though it definitely had its moments, this was everything the New Super Mario games have come to represent; a tight, fun platformer that it is all too easy ti sink hours and hours into. To sum it up in one word: fun.
4 Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate My first bite of Monster Hunter, and all I can say is SO TASTY! To say I've barely scraped the surface would be barely scraping the surface of how barely I've scraped the surface, but this is a huge and fun world of brilliant monsters and addictive gameplay which, if I could only find the time, I could absolutely lose myself in. Considering how little has been announced that I want to play in the first half of next year, I can see this being all I play on my Wii U and 3DS for the first six months of 2014.
3 The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD I never played this on the Gamecube, but it was worth the wait. The aphics, the music, the characters and the world were absolutely gorgeous and perfect. Just a shame the quest was a little too easy, a little too short and, in the earliest parts, a little too vague.
2 The Wonderful 101 Brilliant. Inventive. Fun. Hilarious. Pretty. Exciting. Original. I could keep going and give 101 superlatives, but all you need to know is that this is the most Nintendo game you'll ever play, and makes owning a Wii U totally worthwhile. Nintendo need to hurry and buy Platinum.
1 Super Mario 3D World Sure, this has only been out for four days but in that time I've had more fun playing this than I would have on a PS4 or an Xbox One in a whole lifetime. I don't think this'll replace the Galaxy games at the top of my own personal Mario list, but it very nearly matches them in terms of constant, brilliant fun. I'm still playing it now and I genuinely hope it never ends. Every level does something different and every one of them is pure, unadulterated joy. My only complaint would be that Mario doesn't quite control as tightly and perfectly as he did on the Wii, but he still moves better than anyone in any other game ever. The link between me and the little red plumber is almost telepathic. Sex on a disc.
