On that note ( since I picked up default again after a few days break) I'm pretty sure she has a bit of one in Default as well. If it's more obvious now I guess they decided it wasn't strong enough and wanted to make it more obvious. |

Janne betraying him, I liked the two of them as a duo!

| Well, much though he hasn't been all that thus far, there has just been a party-chat with him and Magnolia that, in one fell swoop, has made me like the both of 'em a whole lot more... - First Asterisk Quest Spoiler:
The one where they're playing make-believe like giant kids.
Also, confirmed that you can adjust the encounter rate towards the end of the prologue. I love the idea that somebody in the company said, "You know what we really need? A mode where, if the game's left on standby, you can earn money through making soft toys of the previous game's enemies." Also I've got to the first asterisk choice - and it's so difficult! Person and job say one thing, rationale says another! What to do!? |

| I'll be aiming to stay true to what I think should be done about the situation, regardless of whether or not that lands me with the shobs (which means 'not very good jobs'). |

| Erm. 'Kay. This is bizarre if true. And. Not that great?
For the record, I finished the first sidequest, and they ask you an ethical question where there's no obvious right or wrong answer. You see both the good and bad of your decision. So I didn't feel short-changed. But this potentially does look like localisation gone too far (again, IF it's true). XCX showed that we can deal with NPC-affecting choices just fine out west thank you very much. |

| I've been seeing conflicting posts on this, a couple say that and another says it was the same in the Japanese version. I'm honestly more likely to believe the latter, solely because censorship in Nintendo games is such easy and effective bait right now and it'd be so easy to lie about something like this right now. Stupid if it's true, but I'll wait until the truth has had time to come to light on this before getting my rage tonic and pitch fork out, the first game had absolutely no issues with dark themes having things like borderline date rape, children murdering one another, and lots and lots of death in general. - Early prologue spoilers:
That last one being something this game doesn't seem to have an issue including either with the early on-screen death of Nikolai.

| I've now got the game,
I never finished the first and not downloaded the demo for BS:EL, I see I can unlock stuff for playing the demo. Is it worth playing seeing that it's 10hrs on it own or should I just download get the Cavalier-In-Training Set and have done with it.
On the side quest stuff with out looking at spoilers, the ethical question stuff sound interesting and what choices affecting the game but if none of these choices matter then that's rather lame. |

Hee hee hee... Also, all the Ba'al-busting puns... deary deary me. At least the Ba'al theme is back. (Also - ABBA. You'll know what that means when you see it.) And - EVERYONE HAS LISPS. |

| First thing: Beatrice cat put her scent on the Bravely Second cart quite aggressively when I swapped the cart (with Paper Jambros - sorry, PJB; I'll get into you eventually). She's never done that before. I've literally just saved once - but I have been thoroughly reminded of the first game. Thoroughly. |

| I am loving this dynamic between Tiz and Yew, it's absolutely hilarious! Meanwhile Edea continues to be best girl. - prologue chapter ending spoilers:
And f*** Nikolai.
Speaking of hilarious, that rematch with the Wizard asterisk bearer after I made Yew one was comedy gold! Oh, almost forgot, did I miss any story by skipping the demo? I remember Yew name dropping some sort of incident at Al Khampus that they apparently "forgot" which sounds suspicious to me. |

Hee HEE hee hee! I'm about to take down my second asterisk-holder. I've got a real feeling that I'm going to have to side with someone I absolutely loathe... but I want that job! EDIT: Ah, I think I see the censorship coming in. Honestly I don't want to be penalised for my choice by getting a bad ending, but it's a bit obvious. And yes, I can confirm (via Youtube) that the cut-scene is entirely different in Japanese. I don't think I like what they've done here. |

| I've done it, I've figured out how to get 15+ battle chains for massive jp! Well on my way to maxing a couple of jobs now! And yes, I turned off exp. I have no idea why they have Fencer that speed stance and then kept the attack until you max it out, but soon it shan't be an issue!
Oh, and I got the Astrologer job as well, that's one I'm maxing for those delicious buff extending skills! And now a race begins! |

| On to chapter 2 right now, that there chapter 1 cliffhanger had me in stitches I tell you wut. I think I like this game and its more numerous attitude, yes I very much do! Also balla can you upgrade your moon ship a bit? It's doing miserable damage to a ba'al right now, two days to take it down a level! |

| I'm upgrading pretty much everything else about Norende Fort-Lune first. Why has no other game done this? It's an excellent idea! (Also I'm going to send you an MP, check yer inbox.) Also I think you're already ahead of me - I've just beaten the big pink boss (you know the one), which was the first one I actually had to think about. Good design, game! Catmancing is brilliant. EDIT: - Early Chapter 2 Brilliant Character:
A YOUKAI! A YOUKAI! I CHUFFING LOVE YOUKAI!

| I just sacrificed one of the better jobs in the game because both the people and the quest (combined with my ethics) wouldn't let me do anything else (third asterisk quest). - And now...:
...I'm stuck with the chuffing useless merchant job. You're sending awfully mixed messages here, BSEL.

| Wait, you sided with - Spoiler:
Holly? I sided with rat face myself, he may be a complete creep but the country could benefit a lot more from his plans, and as someone who grew up moving from rental to rental I don't place much value in having a fixed home.
Merchant is a pretty good class though, I used it to beat the final boss of the first game actually!
I'm on chapter 3 right now, chapter 2 was great! Everything was pretty much on point, and that character you mentioned is fantastic! As for chapter 3, all I'll say is - Slightly spoilerish early ch3 thoughts:
I really don't get why they seem to have censored some of the side quest endings! Good old Florem, never change!

| - I did indeed:
It's the first time I've not got the job I wanted. First off I sided against Rosa, I may have liked his ideas more (science! Progress! Long-term view!) but I liked him less and wanted his job. Second time it was the other way around: I love the new cat-adoring Kamiizumi, but I wanted that job BADLY and "character building" isn't any excuse for subjecting yourself to a horrific job you're not suited for. Follow your dreams and that. Not only do I hate rat-face, I've seen first-hand the harmful effects of gentrification in London. I'm a big fan of protecting the environment against big business. And the idea that Erutus would genuinely acting the people's best interests once in power... ah. Ahahaha. Really wanted white magery though. Hopefully I'll get some magic off the next quest, although either job would be useful.
Who'd you side with in quests 1 and 2, Athers? Also: gender neutral fan-service. Well there ya go. |

| I went with the same choices as you it seems. - side quest stuff:
Sided with the thief because f*** DeRosa, sided with the worker because of my moral codes.
As for side quest 3, if it's any consolation - Alternate sq 3 ending spoilers:
Erutus doesn't exactly get the last laugh, after fending off Holly the old man gave him a letter he'd been meaning to hand to him for some time. The contents were, well, lets just say it'll be hard for him to bankroll any of his schemes now a certain ex-king of Anchiem has amassed a pile of debts using his identity!
On the jobs note - Spoiler:
Can't you just use Bishop and / or Red Mage for healing though? I've been getting by nicely with the latter personally, so much so I haven't even used the white mage class since unlocking it!

| - I've been doing that for now:
Just worried that as I get further in, the magic will get rather wussy in comparison to the enemies. Vivify isn't exactly the greatest thing to hit the earth.
I almost wish I'd chosen the other way in SQ3 now. Despite the "reforming" of the other villain. - For the record (SQ 3, my choice):
There's a scene where Holly gets a letter from Barras, spelled with YouTube commenter levels of English, asking her to come and settle down in a medical business with him. Made me chuckle.
EDIT: Well sidequest 4 was ridiculously easy. - Spoiler:
The decision, first off, seeing as you're going to be the ones to save the world anyway; and then the battle, seeing as the most recent shop supplies fire-resistant gear like it's going out of fashion. If Ominas knows Firaja, why doesn't he use it!? Incidentally, Ominas baby-talking to his fat red dragon is simply the best, and the fat red dragon is also the best. Wish I could have fought him and saved the dragon.
And for what it's worth, I think the Hawkeye job is fine as a cowboy. When did American Indians use guns anyway? Although their asterisk holder's weapon is a crossbreed thing - and her voice is terrible. |

| Sorry for DoPo-ing - but I'm basically at the end of Chapter 2, I think (just got a side-quest to do first), and I think the game has just rubbed The Big Twist in my face. - The Big Twist?:
Kaiser Oblivion is Yew's brother!?!?!?!?!?
Also aww, best character gone away. Boo. And this side-quest I've just started has one of the best lines in gaming, full stop. - End Chapter 2 Side-Quest Best One-Liner Spoiler:
"Mmm, this wallaby mochi is marsupialicious!"
Good writing, game. Good writing. Zero, any progress since your cat widdled on the game? |

| About the cowboy job thing, I have a feeling she used darts for projectiles originally. Call it a hunch, call it the sound of darts being spat at people in a couple of scenes where they forgot to change the sound effects, I can't tell which it is! On the twist- Twist spoils:
I like that the game revealed that when it did, the player was going to see his arm anyway, might as well reveal it then and there. Plus it builds up tension for when Kaiser Oblivion and Yew meet again.
I doubt it'll be the last twist this game has to offer!
I think I'm near the end of chapter 3 right now, everything seems to be coming to ahead right now! - BIG chapter 3 spoilers:
What the hell are you playing at Agnes? Kaiser Oblivion must have some pretty big leverage on her to get her to do something so against her morals.
Meanwhile Geist is dead, and boy I am super happy to see the back of that one!
Oh and the side quest you just did was great, which side did you go with Balla? - Side quest 5 spoilers:
I sided with Heinkel, although I'll admit I did it because I wanted the broken Dual Wield ninja skill. Which is super broken by the way, I've hit the damage cap a couple of times!
That moment you realize auto-save has trapped you in a dungeon nine levels above you. . . |

| Thank goodness for the R-button, eh? - Fifth sub-quest:
Same, just wanted the job really. Much of a muchness as to which to go for from any other perspective, especially considering the result. Shame we didn't see Whitson getting his just desserts... Anyway, I now have a team of four ninjas! Those names, though. They're bad even for the series! Noah Entereste?
Didn't notice the darts thing.

Just spotted this and I can't miss an opportunity to educate! - Opportunity to educate:
A cat can mark things by rubbing against them with their faces or particular parts of their paws. Beatrice cat rubbed the left side of her face against the cart a few times. Technically I shouldn't even be playing it; it's hers.
As for playing it, I've not touched it since that first save point. I want to give it my full care and attention but there's plenty of Pokémon still to collect. |

| To be fair, I didn't actually think she'd widdled - the game probably wouldn't have worked otherwise. I did think it might have been her bottom though. (I won't pretend to understand your gaming preferences. ) ...suddenly, surprise difficult boss. Don't do that to me, game! |
