| Weird little online FPS about submarines. Features actual morse communication, so I see myself learning code. No way to play with friends as far as I can tell, but it must be coming/ in there somewhere. |

| I can't help but think that Iwata might have torpedo-ed this in the foot by essentially calling it "Babby's First FPS", when if it's like Nintendo's usual output it'll be so much more than that. I'll give it a crack tomorrow - sounds like Nintendo got F2P bang-on. |

| Tried a few online battles. It doesn't seem very tactical at all, just extremely slow and boring.
The premium version is £8.99 and lets you unlock 18 submarines (these are unlocked as you earn medals), with increasingly better stats. You also can collect crew which add to your stats - the premium version has to 5 crew on some subs (the free subs have 1 crew slot). You also get missions 3+ of the singleplayer. There's also an additional shop where you can buy 5 historic submarines, but it's unclear if this means you have to spend more real money on top of the premium version for these.
Edit: Oh, and multiplayer is only with randoms. No friend matches at all. |

| If Premium doesn't have friend systems online that'd be a crying shame. I know it has local, but it seems (from my admitted super brief time with it) that really deep tactical play could come from teams positioning and flanking together to out-maneuver the enemy subs...hard to do with randomers and Morse. Saying that l, I loved the heavy feel of it, very sub-like. The Morse, while slow and near useless for me, was still both amusing and fitting! Will probably play around for free for a few more evenings this weekend! |

| You can apparently communicate via morse code which is both crazy and awesome at the same time. |

| It's brilliant. I've been thinking for years that I should learn Morse code and it looks like I'm going to learn it completely by accident from this... |

| There's 5 additional subs available for 89p each.
So, the full game with all the subs costs [£8.99 + (5 x £0.89)] = £13.44. Still cheaper than Dr Luigi! |

| Played a bit more and I've really like it so far. The way the menus have 3D sections you can move, the crew shout outs, the awesome Morse...it just oozes style and lovely little details! 89p per historical sub ain't too bad, and it'll take a while to see all the premium ones, the unlock requirements are quite high! I do wonder if Peppy Hare's claim that they are flat more powerful will put people off in a month or so when there a subset of players running top-tier subs, or if a cheeky flank and accurate shots will be the decider rather than stats? |

| I will be downloading later today when I've got time but it sounds like Nintendo has got F2P right. |

| Played nothing else all day. It really is awesome. The single player missions are brilliant too. Basically, Nintendo treats F2P like an extended Demo, and even the subs you can buy are all balanced so that they won't overpower new players. |

| Hats off to Vitei and Nintendo with this, it really is an engaging experience. 3D effect is great (especially when you emerge from being underwater), the controls are stupidly fun to play around with, and the slow nature of sub travel makes morse code fit in so well.
And kudos for letting us choose any Mii we'd like, rather than the incredibly boring decision Nintendo have taken in tying our personal Mii to the game...
Shame about the lack of online friends matching, though. |

| IT DID!!!!!
So I've now played some of the single player & I don't see me investing much play time in it, it's not terrible just not for me. |

| I should probably try and give this another crack. I've only played the tutorial so far; then got distracted by collecting shiny things in Friday Monsters. |

| Just discovered a new mode that's very "Typing Of The Dead" You have to call airstrikes by typing in words correctly, and of course, its via morse code. |

If it helps, I've never had success with the "Same continent" online option. "Worldwide" works every time. |

| There's a new update, which adds leaderboards, etc. Plus, if you've paid for the full version, you get a free sub from Star Fox. There's also bad news too. If you're a cheapskate and haven't paid, each online round now costs 2 Play coins. |
