Wario: Weezing, Snorlax, Swalot, Stunky, and for some reason, I could imagine him with a Lickitung. |

| Why wasn't Pokémon Z in the Direct? Because it's not coming out? Don't bet on it. |

| I've been thinking about this - nearly every year is the year of Pokemon. This year we had Shuffle and Rumble World, next year we're getting loads of spin-offs, last year we had the Alpha and the Omega, previously X&Y... it never stops! |

| God that's a serious kick in the nostalgia! Reminds me of the ol' days more than I'd think possible. Between the console and the game it really makes me miss the gameboy eras. |

| As usual, I give this news a . Why anyone would want to play something so old and clunky, even with the benefit of nostalgia, is beyond me. Couldn't even assign the bike to a button, fercryingoutloud. |

| As you all know I'm not a pokemon person but I love clear casings for consoles/handhelds and the blue and green ones look the best. |

| So... Detective Pikachu is a thing that's happening.
The music in that trailer is very BBC's Sherlock - am I alone in thinking that? |

| Also missed that R/B/Y conversation, but you can see my comments from the similar G/S/C debate elsewhere. I would much prefer to play the originals than the remakes. |

| Steel/Fairy looks like a good shout. This surely means we'll see Gen 7 before too long. Blimey. |

| Hmm, I'm still sceptile ( ) this means a new generation this year. There's been way too little hype so far for that. I'm still banking on third version or sequels coming first, and this'll be our Lucario / Zoroark promotional Pokemon we see a year or two out from gen seven. Still, at least as far as event pokemon goes it looks decent visually ( assuming it is one and not again like Lucario and Zoroark and available in-game), unlike the lameness that has been diancie hoopa and volcanion. |

| I would tend to agree, Mr. Athrun - there's been plenty of teasing of Pokémon Z and that's my bet for this year's main series game (one of the unannounced strong 3DS titles we've heard whispers of this week). Whatever happens, it means someone's thinking about Gen 7. Now, a new generation normally means new hardware... (ruddy Gen 5, breaking the pattern) |

| So the new Pokémon is a hybrid of a Klink, a Poké Ball, and... a French maid. I was wondering aloud to Mr. Jones (Zero not Stu) whether I just don't get nostalgia in the same way as people? My ambivalence to chiptunes and pixels is well known, the inability to assign the bike to a shortcut button is far too high a price for me to play the original Pokégames ever again, my three favourite games all came post-N64... Obviously I held a torch for SM64 until I played it again in the modern day, but I see people cooing over these childhood games where I see greyish splodges and wonder what I'm missing. |

| On Pokémon's seventh generation, why I like the oldest Pokémon games the best and, inexplicably but somehow inevitably, Dark Souls. |
