| Personally But I did have a Sonic ring game thing. Also you put Snake Eater as your number 1 MG in the MG Thread but Guns of the patriots here. |

| I think Snake Eater is the best standalone game, but as a fan who's really invested in the series, 4 was just so satisfying. It's like I was saying, if I'd written it the week before, it might've been Twilight Princess and Snake Eater. If I do it next week, it might be Link Between Worlds and Metal Gear Solid. |

| Here it is my Top 25, 100 would just take to long and be hard to do. The 25 here was hard to pick, the top 8 not so much but I changed 10th place quite a few times and there's so many classics missing that just thinking about it I could do a top 500-1000 easy but not sure on the order of them all that would be the problem. - Mas's Top 25 (27) games of all time :
1. Mass Effect Trilogy 2. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker 3. Shenmue II 4. The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 5. Super Mario 64 6. Bioshock 7. Resident Evil 2 8. Halo: Combat Evolved 9. Super Mario World 2: Yoshi Island 10. Resident Evil 4 11. Sonic The Hedgehog Pocket Adventure 12. Metal Gear Solid 2 Sons of Liberty 13. SoulCalibur 14. Jade Empire 15. Super Smash Bros Melee 16. Streets of Rage 2 17. Golden Axe 2 18. Shadow of the Colossus 19. Beyond Good & Evil 20. Crash Bandicoot 3 21. Sonic CD 22. The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess 23. Goldeneye 007 24. Uncharted 2 25. Journey
Taking everyone's Top 10's into account and using the normal voting system, 1st get's 10points, 2nd get's 9points and so on. Out of the 7 of us whom posted at least a top 10 in order. - Here's the GNamer Top 10 games of all-time:
1st Super Mario 64 2nd The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3rd Xenoblade 4th Paper Mario The Thousand-Year Door 5th Mass Effect Trilogy Joint 6th The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess & Super Smash Bros Melee 7th Dark Souls 8th The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker 9th Super Mario Galaxy 10th Metroid Prime

| Bloody hell! I forgot Resi 4! - The Revised Buskalilly Top Ten Games of All Time:
1) Super Mario Galaxy 2) The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword 3) Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots 4) Resident Evil 4 5) Metroid Prime 2: Echoes 6) Xenoblade Chronicles 7) Mass Effect Eight) Starfox 64 9) Ghost Trick 10) Pikmin
Sorry, Street Fighter, you're bumped! Appropriate, really, this was the one game that was only on the list as a result of nostalgia, rather than being a genuinley extraordinary game. |

| After finishing persona 4 golden twice now I've decided to revisit my list, this time I added a tenth game and actually numbered them. The numbering of the top five can change a little at times, but this is a good estimate. The last three aren't set in stone either.
1.) Persona 4 Golden 2.) Xenoblade 3.) Persona 3 portable 4.) Zelda majoras mask 5.) Zelda wind waker 6.) "Latest Version" Pokemon 7.) Super smash bros melee 8.) soul calibur 2 9.) Ys seven 10.) Tales of Xillia |

| I haven't done one of these lists in years. Thinking about it now, Crazy Taxi would definitely be top in a list of ten, and Banjo-Kazooie, Mario Kart 64, F-Zero X, Super Mario 64, Super Mario Galaxy, Bishi Bashi Special and Hogs of War would all very likely feature. In the last five years, of the games I've played, I'd have to consider Animal Crossing New Leaf, Pokémon HeartGold, Sonic Generations, Kirby's Epic Yarn and Super Mario Galaxy 2 as well. Then there's stuff like OutRun 2, Gran Turismo 3, WWF No Mercy, Wii Sports and others...
Hmm. Might need to think about this. |

| BA-BA-BA-BUMP!I was chatting to Masofdas in the car about my top 10 games of all time, and it came up in the Last Game thread as well when Bioshock was mentioned, so I've decided to do my list again. This is as much for myself as anything, I'd like to have it all written down in order. - Number 10:
Bayonetta The original and best. Kamiya's masterpiece features the best combat of any game ever, a lovable bundle of sass as a main character, brilliantly terrifying angelic imagery (especially with my Catholic family) and a lovely, albeit bonkers, story. Perfection. While Bayonetta 2 is likewise a great game, it doesn't have the pacing and the perfect build-up of the original, feeling like a boss rush at times.
- Number 9:
Resident Evil 4 A perfectly realised action-horror game that not even the creator has quite matched since. From the unbelievably tense opening in the village right up to horrifying monsters, the game did a perfect job of giving you new equipment and weapons to make you feel powerful against old enemies while adding new monsters to ensure you never felt safe. Awesome action, horrifying horror and just the right amount of humour and cheese make this a masterpiece.
- Number 8:
Pokémon Blue The original and, while not the best, the one I still hold the most nostalgia for. The Pokémon games haven't changed much since they dug their claws into me back in the nineties and most people would probably argue that they've improved. That said, there's a real feeling I get from playing the original game boy games that none of the others, bar maybe Gold and Silver, can duplicate. Maybe its the sense of mystery that came from such a new and novel idea? The graphics left so much to the imagination, the now-tired twists like meeting the evil team and fighting your rival at the end, the properly creepy stuff like Lavendar town or reading the diary entries about Mew and Mewtwo... all of this made Pokémon a game I couldn't get enough of and left a real imprint on my brain. I could still draw Kanto from memory, still name all 151 critters. Now, there's no surprise left in a Pokémon game but back then, it felt like there was something mad to be discovered under every pixel.
- Number 7:
Halo The original and best. While I've enjoyed all the Halo games, not to mention the books and films and comicbooks on top of that, the first one was a real experience. Maybe it was the adventure that came from exploring the halo itself, a weird and wonderful sci-fi masterstroke. Maybe it was the greater sense of open maps and freeform combat compared to much of the later games (though Halo never quite becomes COD, later games do shuffle you from setpiece to setpiece a little more). Whatever it is, this is the game that showed me what I'd been missing out on all those years I'd slagged XBox off.
- Number 6:
Pikmin The original and best (noticing a theme?). While the others did make improvements here and there, none of them could quite match the sense of adventure, the hopelessness that slowly segues into a glimmer of hope, the strange alien world and the heartfelt core. Wonderful, mesmerising stuff.
- Number 5:
A Wii Zelda This is a tricky one. Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword are both phenomenal games, and each shines where the other fails. TP has a big map to explore, a dark tale and a world that felt it needed saving. SS has a gorgeous, painterly look, refreshing gameplay and wonderful characters. How can I possibly choose? One day, hopefully, a Zelda will come that combines the two and probably takes my number 1 spot. But it hasn't happened yet.
- Number 4:
Metal Gear Solid 3 It had to be a Metal Gear in here, but deciding which one is the problem. MGS1 was great but hasn't aged super well. MGS2 still suffers from not playing as Snake. 4 is exceptional as an experience but not if one hasn't played the others, and it does have flaws. Peace Walker is a fun diversion but felt like build-up to V. V is incredible, particularly in the moment-to-moment open world tactical espionage action, but I haven't yet completed it to know how it is as an overall experience. So for the moment, it is definitely 3. More than any of the others, it works as a standalone game. The 3D gameplay is a huge improvement over the two predecessors. The story is one of the most engrossing and touching game tales ever. The music, the looks, the boss fights... WHAT A GAME!
- Joint Number 1!:
Dark Souls, Super Mario Galaxy, Mass Effect Trilogy I think anybody who knows me can guess these three would take the number one spot. I can't decide what order to put them in, and I don't have to! I think they compliment eachother nicely anyway. They all have phenomenal gameplay, great music and memorable characters but on top of that, they represent the three different approaches to videogame storytelling. Games as a medium for telling stories is something that I'm passionate about, and here we have Mass Effect with the you-make-the-choices interactive approach that only games can do, Dark Souls with the subtly hidden in the world lore that only games can do and Mario Galaxy with the bare-bones, enjoy yourself approach. And all three nail it. I was super invested in "being" commander Shephard, I lost myself in Lordran and I enjoyed every second of bouncing Mario around space with the best controls ever. Top stuff.
Even that list still feels like its missing some real stand-outs. I could easily fill a top ten with Zelda, Mario and Metal Gear alone so I only allowed myself one from each. Even then I've cheated, counting Mass Effect's 3 entries as one game and refusing to choose between the Wii Zeldas. Then there are games I love to bits which didn't make the cut; Shadow of the Collossus, Binary Domain, Vanquish, Super Metroid, Animal Crossing, XCom the Arkham Games... And even if I expanded the list to include those, that's still a primarily singleplayer list. Games like Mario Kart, Smash Brothers, Splatoon and Wario Ware have provided hours and hours of fun, and all hold a place in mine and my friends' hearts. I really, really like games. EDIT: Just scrolled up to my old list. Xenoblade! Star Fox 64! GHOST TRICK! 10 is too hard, there are so many games that need to be on the list |

| Nicely resurrected, Drunka. I can certainly contribute here - my list has changed significantly since I gave it (but still salvages a couple of your cast-offs ). - Balladeer's old list:
Below, in roughly chronological order: - SM64 (still my favourite game ever)
- OoT and OoT3D combined (this is an odd one. The original has aged too badly to get a 10/10; OoT3D fixes that, but is a port. So the two together get a 10/10 where neither would on its own)
- SSBM
- Metroid Prime
- Paper Mario TTYD
- Meteos
- Twilight Princess
- SSBB
- Pokémon HGSS (okay, so this is a port too, but it's a really good port that adds so very much to the original)
- Ghost Trick
- Xenoblade
So I guess that's my top eleven? I think I'd have to remove HGSS to make a top ten.
Ch-ch-ch-CHANGES! SSBM and SSBB have been completely overshadowed by SSBU; HGSS, while still great games, have just been left behind a bit by the march of time; and sadly, SM64 didn't live up to my memories of it when I played it on the Wii U's Virtual Console. The level design's still beltin', and the graphics haven't aged as badly as several N64 games', but the camera is terrible in this day and age. So, what intrudes into the list? SSBU, natch; and then a couple of 9.5/10s, supremely excellent games with noticeable flaws. MK8 is the best racing game I've ever played, but it lacked a substantial single-player and Battle Mode - not major modes (not at all), but I do pine for the days of Mission Mode and Block Fort. Meanwhile, Phoenix Wright: Trials & Tribulations is the best story-based game I've played, with a blinder of a plot - but it also has an incredibly offensive stereotype in Jean Armstrong. A minor character, not enough to spoil the game (not at all), but enough to leave a nasty taste in my mouth. So, the new Balla-list, in (very) rough and flexible inverse order of goodness: - Phoenix Wright T&T
- MK8
- Meteos
- Ghost Trick
- SSBU
- OoT and OoT3D combined
- Xenoblade
- Metroid Prime
- Paper Mario TTYD
- Twilight Princess
Subject to change, natch. |

| I wasn't even going to post again since I thought my list was the same, boy was I wrong!
01.) Persona 3 Portable 02.) Zelda majoras mask 03.) Xenoblade 04.) Tales of Xillia 05.) Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc 06.) Danganronpa: Goodbye Despair 07.) Persona 4 Golden 08.) "Latest Version" Pokemon 09.) Zelda wind waker 10.) Lightning Returns
Several evictions from the list, Persona 3 reclaiming its rightful top spot as one of the greatest rpgs of all time, and the Danganronpa duo making their presence known. Wind Waker also loses places due not having played it for getting on ten years at this point. If the HD revision is as good as I remember it may be crawling back up to third spot in the not too distant future however. |

| 1. Shenmue 1/2 2. Resident Evil 4 3. Fallout 3 4. Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess 5. Super Mario Galaxy 6. Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour 7. Crazy Taxi 8. Advance Wars 9. PES 2016 10. Ninja Gaiden (Xbox)
I'm playing Chrono Trigger at the moment and this could sneak in to the Top 10. PES is a temporary one, as it's blown me away this year and I play it most days, but it's not something I'll play in five years time.
I used to insist Super Mario 64 is in my Top 10, but having had it on the Wii-U VC, it feels quite dated and simplistic. In fact, most N64 stuff is a bit like that now. |

| I never got around to posting my top list. I'll give it a bash now - I'll go for a top 25.
1: Mother 3 2: The World Ends With You 3: Fallout 3 4: The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker 5: Undertale 6: Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy 7: Super Mario Galaxy 8: Dark Souls 9: Civilization V 10: Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater 11: Persona 4 12: Lost Odyssey 13: To The Moon 14: Dark Souls II 15: The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth 16: Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin 17: Persona 3 18: The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds 19: Halo 3 20: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess 21: Super Smash Bros Melee 22: Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots 23: Batman: Arkham Asylum 24: Street Fighter IV 25: Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time
RPG heavy, sure, but that's my favourite genre. There's a few games in there likely due to recency bias - Undertale, both MGS3 and MGS4, A Crack in Time - so we'll see if they slip out of my top 25 if I do this in a year's time. |

Not sure about the rest of the N64's catalogue, but I wouldn't be surprised. The first sentence is definitely true. |

| - Ma auld list:
1. Dark Souls - most rewarding game & believable world I've ever experienced. 2. MH3U/Tri - Boss battles the game but no hunt is ever the same. 3. Super Metroid 4. Metroid Prime 5. Metroid Fusion 6. Super Mario Bros 2 7. Ghost Trick 8. ISS pro evo soccer 2 9. Goldeneye 007 10. Timesplitters 2
Time to shift these about a bit. 1. Dark souls - This obviously stays top for me. 2. MH4U - this completely replaces 3U/tri as it damn near perfects the MH formula. 3. Super Metroid 4. Splatoon - The most fun I've had with a game this year. 5. Metroid Prime 6. Ghost Trick 7. Bloodborne 8. PES 2016 9. WWF No Mercy 10. Goldeneye 007 (N64) |

| GNamer's top three games would probably be LoZWW, DS, and SMG (in inverse order). The pattern suggests that I'd be relatively unimpressed with DS compared to the rest of you. My top five are all free roamy worldy things, I notice; and my selection has wildly varying varying levels of story focus throughout, which interests me if no one else. |

Aye, I've said many times before I'm quite happy for a game to put me into a world and let me do my own thing (I love the freedom of that approach) but I'm not totally against story driven games either as for example in 2012 season 1 of TWD was my favourite game that year. |

But I think it would be a different three games I dunno if that would be representative of us all though, not now. SM64's out of favour after having the harsh light of day shone on it, OoT isn't even the forum's favourite Zelda, and XC probably benefited from Athrun contributing to the thread, say, while Philps didn't (not to mention it fell out of Drunka's). Speaking to Drunka, a question for the man if he wouldn't mind: removing all franchise restrictions, what would your top ten (or so) look like? |
