| This might be the one advantage of people hoarding the figures and not using them - I'd imagine a pirated amiibo isn't actually that appealing to most, regardless of the trickery. |

| I wonder if that's to tie in with the upcoming dlc or the retail copy? The latter comes out in October though & the dlc is to be before that.
EDIT: Here's all the info on it, the use of the amiibo itself sounds excellent.

| Regardless of the Smash talk there is one undeniable good thing about this: Nintendo is showing an active willingness to partner up with third parties. Perhaps this heralds a change of the old "our way or the highway" ideology that has been the status quo for a long while and seen them progressively more isolated. |

| I don't know if you guys saw this morning but Amazon had some amiibo as little as £1.99 but have gone back up now in price, same thing happened with infinity figures at one point.
What I want to talk about is the amiibo as we know they've sold a boat load and the card ones have as well which is all good and there now easy to find which has made the market crash on sites like eBay. It maybe be diffenrt in North America where you got to go Blockbuster to get Falco if your in Mexico.
As there started to be to many amiibo and I had a massive clear out of gaming stuff, I got rid of a lot mine maybe just in time to get top dollar out of them.
I still got all the Zelda ones, Fire Emblem ones for Fates more then anything as who doesn't want to use Lucina, Splatoon ones, Woolly Yoshi's part from the mega one and Captain Toad to go with the game.
I'm tempted by the Mario Maker Mario as he goes with that game and is just 1 (2 if I can get retro colour) and Shovel Knight. Going forward now I'm either getting ones of a series like Zelda or if there a odd one or two for a game not 50+ but I am tempted to get Sonic again as it's Sonic.
We may also see a Might Number 9 amiibo and amiibo costumes in Splatoon. |

| Barring Toad, all the amiibo I have bought have been a waste of money. I'm not training any of them in Smash actively, the costumes they've unlocked in Mario Kart 8 remain unworn and any joy I got from playing amiibo-coloured Yoshis faded when it transpired that YWW was not so great.
Now that the collectors have the ones they wanted, I reckon they'll struggle to sell. |

| As if amiibi weren't enough of a license to print money! A Cloud one will give Nintendo enough cash to add another year to its lifespan, at least. |

| So my local GAME has a few amiibi reduced to £10: Dr. Mario, Sheik and Palutena, that I saw. This is very unusual behaviour for both amiibi and GAME: has the amiibo bubble burst?

| It looks like it has. There's only a couple that I don't see regularly - like Sonic and Little Mac, for example - but the rest seem to be quite easy to find, even the Yarn Yoshis. HMV were selling all their amiibo for £7.99 just before Christmas, including Modern 8-bit Mario, Mewtwo, Mr. Game & Watch and all the ones that would have cost about £50 six months ago. They must have had about fifty of them (and I'd bet that most of them are still there too)

| I think so, the people that do want them will buy right away and there producing plenty that now part from in the states where figures are exclusive to retailers there not going for silly money part from the odd one. |

ShopTo have joined HMV in lowering the cost of their amiibo to under £8. There's some recent-ish ones there, like Tom Nook and Falco. I'm still on the lookout for a decently-priced KK Slider.
I wonder how long it'll be before these are a fiver...? |

| I think select ones might not be far from a fiver but the more popular characters will still manage to hold their value I think, can't say I'm too surprised about the Animal Crossing ones dropping in price quickly considering the game they're attached to though.
Whilst we're talking price drops, here's Giant Yarn Yoshi for £25, more expensive than your standard teddy but oh so adorable.

| The Animal Crossing ones look to me to be some of the most well-made, though I have never bought one (an Isabelle one would be tops, though). If only Nintendo could find a way to make every amiibo really useful in a game (or two, or more)... |

| Thoroughly enjoying the uses of the Shovel Knight amiibo & that's before I get into doing a custom knight run of the main game, where you level up your Knight and unlock abilities randomly.
Sadly I doubt I'll be able to play any of the co-op modes it offers. |

| Well my amiibo story is one that i'm sure a lot of Nintendo fans will share (or not? I don't control you..)
At first I didn't have too much interest in the amiibo outside of a Samus amiibo, but I was fortunate enough to review Super Smash Bros for Wii U, and Nintendo sent out a Mario, Link and Pikachu amiibo. I was impressed at the quality, and by the time they launched I had bought Samus, followed by Marth and Villager (before anyone realised they were 'rare') and after that, I just decided that I was going to attempt to buy every Smash Bros series amiibo. Once I got about 15 I was going to sell them all and give up, realising how expensive it was. Instead though, my friend bought me some of the hard to get characters, and so I continued.
Eventually they got a bit easier to buy and I now own every Smash Bros amiibo released so far (Lucas, Ryu, Roy, Cloud and Bayonetta to go) and despite me being focused on buying ONLY the Smash Bros amiibo, I was given the Splatoon trio as a gift, and I couldn't resist a blue Yarn Yoshi and KK Slider amiibo.
Unfortunately, I seem to be edging towards buying the Animal Crossing amiibo now, they're pretty darn awesome! I bought amiibo Festival (Don't you dare judge me) which came with an Isabelle and Digby amiibo and I was fortunate enough to preorder the next wave of Animal Crossing amiibo (Resetti, Celeste, Blathers & Kicks) for £8 each before they went back up in price.
I also ordered the Twilight Princess HD special edition, which comes with an amiibo (although I only ordered it for its soundtrack)
So yeah, it looks like my amiibo craze isn't going to end any time soon |

| Did anyone ever pick these up? I spent about £40 or so on the Series 1 and was committed to collecting them all (100 cards!) but then Series 2 was announced for launch a mere six weeks after Series 1 launched. I thought that if they stopped making Series 1 cards and forced me to buy up both series at once...that's 200 cards, and when you only get 3 per pack, I would be spending at least £100 per set, and that was just too much money.
However, since Series 2 has been out a while and Nintendo continue to make Series 1 cards, I am tempted to go back. They are also more available now. I was just curious if anyone else had taken the plunge and bought any? |
