Super Smash Bros. 3D-Specific Thread

Definite tagline possibilities there.

I think I'm "done" with the demo for now - I reckon Mario will be a favourite of mine in the main game. I've been watching Little Mac gameplay on YouTube and I really can't wait to get to grips with him.

Here are some I came up with on CVG:

"Grandparents object to your non-caucasian partner? Settle it in Smash!"
"4chan threatening to post nude photos. of you? Settle it in Smash!"
"Having trouble deciding how to cook your potatoes? Settle it in Mash!"

And yep, I'm pretty "done" with the demo. too. Exhausted it, save mastering the Villager, I reckon. Not long now...

I'm right the other side from you guys - the demo appeared on my 3DS overnight. It's going to take me a while to get used to playing Smash, which I generally find confusing, on a small screen.

I've had that trouble on my small 3DS, I've completely lost sight of my character and ended up falling off the edge

Preorder placed! I've not been this hyped for a game in some time.

Mine too! Going to be there at opening hours (0930) on Friday - have taken the day off work to play it.

Can't say I've had problems following my characters, but my eyesight is pretty good. The 3D's great too.

Mines preordered with ASDA and the last three games I ordered from them came about 3 days early and due to nature of the game I can take work with me if it does come early or even on the day of launch.

I have Fridays off from uni, and Amazon have promised me launch day delivery, so a Friday binge is likely.

Reviews are coming out (I want this gaaaaaaame), and it sounds like online's still a bit laggy. Hope they fix it for the Wii U version.

Given that, and that you can't play Smash Run online, I'm wondering whether we should get some "local Smash days" together in the Community sub-forum. Get everybody from down South/up North/Scotland together in a coffee shop and duke it out. Thoughts?

Then you all can take me on online if you have my jap 3DS FC or I decide to get a local copy.

It comes out on my birthday, so I might preorder it for my birthday, and hopefully get it on my birthday, but then not be able to play it on my birthday because I have work on my birthday.

But that's not in the middle for all those Scots is it and urghh London I wouldn't go near the place if I didn't have to like tomorrow. Why can't there be a good gaming expo in Cardiff for instance unless there is one and I don't know about it.

That's why I divided it into North/South/Further North (i.e. Scotland).

I'd say that you, Drunka, me, and Fronky are all definitely south; and anyone who's made it to HyperJapan (so ZJ and Beemz) count as well. That's the south division. (And of course Athrun and Shanks form the really south division.)

Thought Zero was in the Midlands but not a clue about Fronk & Beemoh

We could always have some Skype enhanced fight nights too.

Hopefully the lag won't be as bad when playing against UK-only players, but there's still no way to play Smash Run without meet-ups.

Online is always tough to crack for a fighting game because you rely on your inputs being reflected on screen instantly & lag can kill that in extreme situations, though I do remember many places said the same for Brawl on wii but I never seemed to have much of a problem in friend only matches.

A meet up would be nice though.

I am a Midlander (there can be only one), but I'm also a traveller. Happy to move around the island for right there multiplayer Smash Bros.

Lancashire sounds good to me

I'm not choosing to listen to online being laggy, like Jaster I never had the problem on Brawl despite what everyone said and that view has been much less prominent this time around.
