| I'm returning to it regularly because I don't have access to the Wii U version. Would I feel differently if I did? Probably - but I'm happy with the 3DS version of the game. |

| Stu's never been a Smash fan, though.
Although honestly, I have to say that the Wii U version was a huge step up from its 3DS counterpart, despite using the same characters. Absolutely massive difference. |

| I'd rather have Smash Run than Smash Tour though. |

| I never play either, but I agree with you there. Smash Tour is a load of testicles. In my opinion, Smash Tour < Smash Run/Orders < Event Matches. |

| I really like Smash Tour Really wish it was online so I could play it on a more level playing field. Smash Run can suck a dick though. |

| I'm team Smash Tour rather than Smash Run, it just feels more involving of everyone, whereas in Smash Run I'm just basically running about killing a few enemies then having some random battle at the end. |

I wasn't seeing the massive array of things to do like in Melee (which I played quite a lot back in the day), plus I'm still convinced it's a button-whacking fest of a game. Guess I'll never be converted, though at least I tried. Again. |

| I haven't played Smash Tour but I can't see it being any worse than Smash Run. I believe I've said what I think of Run before, but I'll reiterate that it was ultimately the usual obligatory one time off mode that has a few good ideas executed absolutely terribly and the whole thing is just a mess as a result. The running around duffing up random enemies for power ups part is far too short, as is the short battle at the end before it then simply ejects you and forces you to repeat the process. Had it been properly done it could be fun, but as it stands it's just a poorly executed prototype that we will likely never see again going onwards.
Granted I haven't played Tour so I've no idea if it's a naff mode as well, but I just can't quiet see it being anywhere near as awful a disappointment Run was. Run was touted as one of the key defining features of the 3ds version of the game, whereas tour is one of many modes of the wii u version and was touted as such. For a completionist (which, granted, I'm normally not, but Smash tends to bring that side of me out because of how addicting collecting trophies is) having a dud mode is always annoying, but at least Tour doesn't hold the dishonour of hogging development resources that would have been better spent on many other things. |

| Smash Run might be a bit more fulfilling, to me, if you could select what form the final battle would take. Neither it, nor Smash Tour, are all that much cop, in my humble, unsubtle, often wrong and comma-filled opinion. |

| Definitely agree with that, Zero. I'd say that Smash Run was a good idea sloppily executed, whereas Smash Tour was just a bad idea from the get-go. And as another completionist, I eventually had to use a Golden Hammer, instead of playing the mode over and over again until a Metroid showed up. |

| Posting here to keep the Wii U thread clear from spoilers/speculation. Take this as you will, but... - Spoiler:
Data-miners have found some interesting sound-files in the recent 3DS update. There's a sound file mentioning Roy which is the Fire Emblem victory theme, a couple of themes related to a new Kirby stage and perhaps most interestingly, STREET FIGHTER SOUNDS MENTIONING RYU. I'd take all this with a pinch of a salt, but this has been confirmed by multiple sources and the initial data miner even put the files up for download here: https://mega.co.nz/#!3ccRzIzS!4q_o2Qy1ArFp2GzPQ1YP1b678Tl49iQ4ur8yfUsDVr0
I've checked them out, and they seem legit. The Street Fighter stage is a straight rip from SF2, which may seem odd, but there's straight rips from Mega Man and Sonic too, so nothing too out of place there. Street Fighter V is coming out soon too...

| I swept past that rumour on Nintendo Life, but you've made it sound more convincing. - Spoiler:
Capcom are obviously involved already, with Mega Man, so it's not impossible. Not only would my dislike of third-party characters kick in here, but also a point that Jaster made earlier, about characters from other fighting games feeling out of place in Smash.
However, sound files are frequently found on disc for stuff that is never going to be used. Hackers located data for a Fire Emblem stage in SSBM, and several unused tunes in SSBB (among them, this lovely remix of "Beware the Forest's Mushrooms"). In short, while I can well believe that Ryu might appear in the future, I'm sceptical about the whole bunch of it right now.

It could well be just a mii costume but the fact there might be a stage for street fighter makes me think differently.

I can't see it myself especially seeing how Sony has paid for USFIV & SFV to be on PS4 with later according to Yoshnori Ono wouldn't happen without them.

| I also thought I'd add... - Spoiler:
that I'm quite conflicted on Ryu possibly being in this as street fighter as a series practically exploded when SSFII turbo came out on the SNES so the credentials are there BUT as I've said characters from fighting games just don't seem right at all not to mention that his moveset would be pretty obvious and therefore a bit boring.

I'd love to see Ryu in the game, honestly. I don't agree with Jas's suggestion that characters from fighting games wouldn't "fit" in Smash - Nintendo would tweak him to make it work, just as they tweaked Snake to make him PG-friendly. He's certainly got the historical clout too, considering he's the main character of arguably the biggest fighting game series of all time.
Roy though... ugh. I hope that's nothing more than a rumour, considering there's already 4 FE characters, 2 of whom are nigh-identical.

| I'm always happy for anything more we can get out of these beauties so I don't mind. I also disagree with Mas, doesn't mean they own the whole franchise, plus pretty sure sony aren't worried about competing with Smash... |

| If you're talking about PS:All-stars I maintain that the 2 are barely worth comparing, however I meant when it comes to that particular game. They're far too different. |

| In relation to Mas's point: - Spoiler:
I just had a thought - Snake joined Brawl when MGSIV was in development as a PS3 exclusive. Exclusivity hasn't stopped Nintendo before - if Ryu was to join, they'd base him off Street Fighter II Ryu, much like Snake was Twin Snakes/MGS2 Snake.

I think the difference there was Konami decided to make MGS4 aPS3 exclusive where this time Sony are paying for the exclusive. Like how Nintendo paid for Bayo 2, if there was PlayStation All-Stars 2, we wouldn't be thinking Bayonetta should be in that.

| The point is though that as long as it didn't infringe on the exclusive deal in any way they could still appear in smash bros. |
