| @mas - Spoiler:
I wouldn't say it was a fix at all as Nintendo are just gauging interest with the ballot which as I've said before doesn't necessarily mean the most popular choice will end up in the game & as for the Sony/SF exclusive thing, Capcom would still have to agree to such a thing as it's their IP and I personally think they'd be crazy to cut themselves off like that.

Money talks but with a file name like it is SMASH about Ryu. You would think if he is coming that it's been the work's for a while before the ballot you would think.
So I'm saying if Nintendo at E3 go we heard you wanted Ryu from the ballot then bam trailer of him.
Then that's a total fix

| But he may well be high in the ballot, so that could still be true. Regardless I'm sure they have some amount of DLC plan no matter what happens with the ballot. By the time that's done AND then the whole character creation process has processed they could easily have launched some pre-planned characters in the mean time. |

| Well if they say what I think they might say, to me that's a fix and makes the ballot a waste of time. If Nintendo has basically already picked the characters ahead of time and just making us feel like we made a choice. |

| I think you may be taking the ballot the wrong way, again it's a way to gauge people's interest not to crown a "winner" |

| Yes that's meant to be what it's for but I'm saying it might not what we're interested in as Nintendo might say they looked at it and say we're interested in the two in the leaked codes which might be the case but there clearly already being planned if the leaked codes are true.
Again to me means that the ballot meant nothing, if that happens. |

| There's a strong possibility that the ballot will mean nothing anyway, particularly if characters like Shrek or Goku win the thing. I'm treating it as extra publicity for the game and hold out no hope that any extra characters will result directly from it. If certain characters are already planned DLC, I find it hard to believe that Nintendo would set up the ballot purely to reveal said characters - there would be no need to do it that way, and an incredible backlash if they were caught. |

| Totally agree there is no need to do it and this is Nintendo not EA but I can just see something at E3 on the direct the ballot being mentioned as to why we have those possible DLC characters.
I hope I'm totally wrong and this is just wild speculation as like you say could be a lot of backlash. |

Again to me means that the ballot meant nothing, if that happens. All I'm saying is that I disagree and it could easily go the other way, for example they could start off by telling us the ballot results but say "These fighters will take time to be created/released but in the meantime X fighter is out today" & given how Nintendo have dealt with DLC so far I don't see them messing this up. |

| No, you can't. I'm not. In fact, I'm not thinking anything about this entire ballot, and am just interested to see how it turns out. Let's leave the paranoia and unsubstantiated fears for when Barboach storms the results table. |

If Jason Statham is going to be in it then so should Vin Deisel and The Rock. |

| Jim Sterling talks about Star Wars Battlefront but basically what he's say is what I'm saying about the ballot and now rumoured even more DLC characters found in the patch data notes make me even more weary. |

| Just watched that. Absolutely no comparison whatsoever. Unless you're trying to say that a Stormtrooper's pegged on to win the ballot? George Lucas ruining things again... |

| Course there is, I'm saying like him that I'm A Cynical Prick and don't trust anyone with anything in gaming now even Nintendo and I'm Cynical about the Ballot being real and that the DLC characters from that already being pallned like how DLC for Star Wars is already planed. |

| Don't see your point Mas - the difference between Star Wars and Smash Bros. is that this is DLC being planned AFTER the game's release. Absolutely nothing wrong with that. |

| Characters being found in patch data is just the developer planning ahead so these possible fighters can be added to the game as easily as possible & that's IF they actually want to add them in the first place as nothing found in these notes is 100% guaranteed.
For example, remember the rumoured Rhythm Paradise choir? It's not like they are sitting there as finished fighters waiting to be unlocked via a DLC purchase.

| I still don't think any of you are getting what I'm trying to say about the DLC & the Ballot being possibly fake that's what I'm being cynical about. I've got know problem with more DLC for SMASH and like Jay points out it's after release and not before trying to sale the game but that's not what I'm saying just things like that have made me cynical about everything in gaming |
