| With all the genre talking in the random thoughts thread, I thought we could play a game. Someone names a game then the next person has to put it in a genre and name a new game for the next person. We keep going till someone can totally disagree with a placement of the game into a genre. So putting Final Fantasy XIII in JRPG, RPG, Traditional RPG all fine but putting in racing is just plane stupid and that end the game. A slight change to the game, you out a game into a genre by it's box art. So I will go first with The Granstream Saga

| Never heard of it, but a quick guess based on Google Images would make me say action RPG. Let's go with Jak II. |

| I'd also would have said that for the game Mas put up, Jak 2 is an Action Platformer. (side note: how about we agree to only go off a games boxart?) My choice is: Great cameo by our own Drunka on that boxart too. |

Oh, that would make this a properly brilliant forum game. I'm definitely for that - it's Mas's thread though so he can chime in. Based on your box art, Odama is obviously an LSD influenced pinball game. |

| Calm down Drunkbald - that's an Origami-based puzzle game there. Heavy Rain's a bit of a pretentious name for a puzzler. Throwing a curveball |

Interested in what this is - a Google search helped nothing. Mas's game is obviously a fighter - you've got your Ryu, your Ken, your female cast of fighters, easy. Here's mine: |

| Spot-the-items type game, liked you'd always see in NGamer's reviews round-up, where one collects severed heads. |

| @JayMoyles - @masofdas is right, it is actually a text-only adventure. The big clue is that, on the page with the scans on, most of the boxart is a screenshot of the game; but for the text adventures, they used an illustration. Even in the mid 80s, British game companies had worked out that putting the words WHAT NOW? on the box cover wasn't a good idea, marketing wise. The above game is Microsoft trying to plagerise LittleBigPlanet. Lazy lazy lazy Microsoft. Lazy. |
