| Anyone else watch DareDevil on Netflix?
Amazing and sometimes brutal adaptation of him. Different from the rest of the MCU but still suited to the wider universe. Looking forward to the rest of the Netflix Marvel output.
Could never envision The Punisher working in the new Marvel Universe, but after this I can totally see it working. Would love a Punisher series - in the style of Thomas Jane's Dirty Laundry short Punisher film which you need to checkout if you haven't seen already. |

| I've not had a chance to check it out yet! I've heard the fight scenes are phenomenal though. Glad to hear it's a worthy reboot - it needed to be to wash away the memories of the Affleck film. |

| Aye, the fight scenes are often great. Not the usual fighting you'd expect from a comic book film/show where the hero cruises through barely breaking a sweat. And while it's called DareDevil it's just as much a great origin story to Kingpin who is outstanding in this. I'm a big fan of Arrow and The Flash, but this was on a whole new level. Marvel schooling DC in the TV show side of things as well as movies now. Oh and the Affleck DareDevil film is a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine. |

| I didn't love it. I enjoyed it enough to keep watching, but it definitely wasn't the masterpiece everyone makes it out to be if you ask me. I didn't really feel a sense of compulsion that I normally get with the darker toned shows. I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes though, it was picking up towards the end as far as I'm concerned. |

| I just watched the first episode of Daredevil tonight, with my family. I definitely wanted to watch more, that's about all I can say so far.
On the subject of the Affleck film; it's not that bad. It's nothing special but it doesn't deserve as bad a rap as it gets. |

| Aye, it was exciting the first few rounds but then turned into a boring hug-fest & I would have liked to have seen a KO as well. |

| That was never going to happen a KO, it was a lesson in boxing from Floyd and that's what it was. |

| The majority of the time that is my problem with boxing, I realise how good Mayweather is but with him claiming to be the best pound for pound fighter in the world then he should be able to knock people like Pacquiao out and he failed to do that. |

| Yeah he's not the best pound for pound fighter like he says, he's the best pound for pound boxer.
If he fought Pacquiao, Mayweather would of lost. |

| Mayweather fought well for his style, but he'll never be considered in the same light at Tyson and Ali because of just how dull and defensive that style is. I pity anyone who spent colossal amounts of money attending that event - what a waste of time. |

| I personally abhor violence, no matter how it is dressed up, so I despise boxing and would never watch it. I don't get the attraction of spectator violence. I don't consider it a sport. Still, it is far better than UFC/MMA, as that is just beyond horrid. |

Is anything a sport OldSchool Well any physical competition is sport, but I refuse to accept that an activity that has no other purpose than to physically hurt your opponent is a sport, it is just violence. People have always enjoyed violence, and the bloodier the better, but again, I don't get that, seeing someone punched makes me recoil in revulsion. It has a sickening effect on me, making me feel very bad indeed. It is possible that the violence I experienced towards me and my mother as child, plus all the other violence around me had some bearing on that. |

| To me it's not violence it's a competition of skill especially MMA where you apply what you have learnt from possibly hundreds years ago, and I know about violence hence why I've not seen my mother for 17 years.
Also doesn't have to physical to be a sport anymore, League of Legends was on ESPN recently for instance and I've caught a bit of the Snooker at the moment. |

I'm sorry to hear about your final point there OS (and you too Mas) - nobody should have to go through something like that. What I will say in defense of my enjoyment of boxing and MMA is that as Mas says, this isn't the glorification of violence but rather a test of skill and physical strength. There's none of the bloodlust you'd expect from Roman gladiatorial fights, as these fights take place in a controlled environment with referees and trained medical staff at hand. Due to that, I can appreciate the agility and dedication of these fighters. Fighters like Ronda Rousey are role models in a way, as they advocate a strong training and work ethic as well as being powerful and impressive figures. I totally understand why you don't enjoy boxing or MMA though - I'm just offering up reasons as to why I personally enjoy it. Having said that, in reference to the recent boxing event, Floyd Mayweather is no role model by any stretch of the imagination - his well-documented history outside of the ring is fucking deplorable. |

| I was thinking of Ronda when I brought up Judo, great minds etc. You put it far better then I could of Jay.
Surely Floyd shows that you can change. |

| Has he changed though? He still seems pretty much unrepentant - he barred two ESPN reporters from Saturday night's fight who had the audacity to question his abuse-laden history with women. |

| Kinda but like I said before he out boxed him and that's how Floyd boxes, anyone that watched the fight should of known that going into it.
Also did you see Manny's quote about the demands. |
