Aw man, I can't agree with that. My mum's Animal Crossing-themed 3DSXL looks really neat. She's just started playing Majora's Mask on it. It's going... not so well... O_o

I'm not keen on any of the XL models Nintendo have released. They tend to hit the sweet spot with the size of the non-XL model in the first place for me, and stretching it to supersize makes it not right.

That's the one I've got. It's quite nice to look at. That said, while upgrrading from the original 3DS to the 3DS XL was one of the best gaming purchases I've ever made, the subseqent upgrade - from 3DS XL to New 3DS XL - hasn't really done anything or proved anything that's justified the extra cost. Still, at least I've got a model that's got high resale value. I could easily make money on this if I sold it.

Really? Interesting. I pine for my old 3DS. Not only was it not hideous on the eyes (although yours does look nicer), but it fit more comfortably in my pocket, and I had no problems holding it.

I second Cappa, The OG 3DS was not comfy at all and now going back even to the New 3DS for a bit it's just to small of a screen but that is far more comfy then the OG 3DS.

I have tiny hands, so I had no issues with the 3DS, but I loved the XL. The big pretty screens, the nice rounded edges... I had the LBW one, to clarify.
I would've gone with a n3DSXL as well if it weren't for the faceplates and coloured buttons.

I have small hands with long spindly fingers. Surely that should make the smaller machines less comfy for me?

I have white N3DS with the white MonHun faceplates. It is a thing of beauty, closed and open with those SNES-coloured face buttons, and it's perfectly pocket-fitting.

The screen is also a great size, being bigger than the 3DS but not at the stretchy XL levels (considering the resolution is the same, so a smaller screen means greater pixel density = better quality imo).

Sometimes I feel weird because my trousers are capable of fitting a 3ds xl with ease (could get my Vita in there too if I wanted).

Jokes aside though I really don't get the fad for trousers with pathetic pocket sizes, mine are hardly any bigger than the norm on the outside, they just don't have rubbish pockets.

Should also probably mention, only my at home sweatpants can fit the Vita on top of the 3ds. None of them have any trouble fitting a 3ds though, when I shop for trousers first thing I make sure of is the pockets aren't naff and unable to carry things. Way I see it if a pocket can't store stuff like a 3ds it's a worthless pocket.

That was really, really good. I hear Donlan's name a lot but never read much of his stuff, unless it's shown to me like that.

Something cool - Hideki Kamiya's 69 part (!!!) developer commentary for Bayonetta. It's odd that no devs really do things this, considering how prevalent it is in the film industry. I know Valve's done it for a couple of their games, but man, imagine Shigsy talking us through Super Mario 64.
