Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White (S)Witch

This game is on my radar. Sort of. I'd be more excited about it if the Wizards Edition was freely available, but I've missed the boat and am less excited about the game without that fabulous book. I do have the DS version, but somehow playing an RPG in Japanese (that isn't Pokémon) would defeat the object somewhat.

Has anyone cast +10 Peepers on this?

Yeah, I started watching a Let's Play of the game last week, here actually, and it looks really impressive. I'm a sucker for Studio Ghibli so this was on my radar anyway.

What differs between the standard game and the edition with the book?

I'm guessing the game comes with a digital form of the book, though as far as I understand it, some of the puzzles involve deciphering runes and things. I could be really wrong, though.

The only drawback is the price difference between versions. The standalone game is regular PS3 price, whereas the LE is anywhere between £54.99 (Amazon, sold out) and £69.99 (sold out everywhere).

I signed up to their update manager yesterday, so if it's the case I'll hopefully get an email. Apparently the had a last minute restock in America last week, so you never know.

From Dusty's experience with Zavvi, I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole.

PersonallyI've never had a problem with Zavvi, ordered lots of things and they always arrive quickly and in good condition. Maybe I've jusst been lucky.

Is your GF buying the LE or the basic game, andyman?

LE, we do love to get those lovely extras!

I just got word that ShopTo have another allocation of Wizards Editions, and I managed to snag me a pre-order.

I've had the Wizards edition pre-ordered for months now (one reason why I bought a PS3 in the first place) seeing that I'm not too big a fan of RPGs I had any fears settled with the recent demo.

I cancelled my pre-order a while ago. No PS3 = no point.

ive got normal preordered in game which comes with book but its in jap not english and also collectors guide whch seems to be sold out as well

I'm getting pretty excited about this, now. It'll be nice for me to actually have a reason to remember that my PS3 exists.

hard to find i hear in USA

It's impossible to find it in the UK. Sold out everywhere. Unless you want to pay £150+ on eBay...

I played the demo through twice for this yesterday, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I can't really see how there'll be any real strategy to the battles, but they do at least keep you on your toes at all times.

Also: I know Drippy was the same in the Japanese dub of both games, but the Scottish accent suits his character perfectly. It's great to see LEVEL-5 giving us another top-notch translation.
