Bayonetta 3 (The Witch On Switch)

Not only did The Game Awards feature this news (that's Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2 in a single release for the Switch, kinda like it was for the old Wii U), there was also this - arguably more important - news: Bayonetta 3 is in development and is exclusive to the Nintendo Switch. I'm gonna hafta get me a Switch - OH WAIT

I echo Drunka's broken statement, best news.

I'd have been hyped just getting the 1&2 on Switch announcement, knowing 3 is in development is amazing.

Drunka's sentiment fits me just right too. Definitely picking this up when it releases. It'll be so good to have the complete trilogy on Switch.

I appreciate the spoiler tag, Drunkilla. Now I've played some Bayonetta I'm going to be a bit wary, to be honest - I struggled through both games on the Wii U. Happy for those that'll get their witchy fix, though.

Woop woop! What a coup! (As Mugabe said to Grace.) Despite having disliked Bayo 1 (could see why other people would have loved it, it just wasn't for me), I almost want to buy this just so I can rejoice in this top game.

As always, though, whole lodda hate from people who don't seem to understand that two of these games only exist because of Nintendo. Most of it I can laugh off, but then you get some little git who says they'll 'just emulate it instead'. That doesn't seem on.

I'm sure they'll have a fun ol' time waiting years for the Switch emulator to come along. They've barely got the Wii U emulator working as it stands.

I'm well chuffed about this though! I've only ever played a demo of the original Bayonetta so being able to play the entire series on the one machine is a treat and a half. And it adds yet more fuel to the "glad I didn't buy a Wii U" fire...

That really is true. In 'Wiil U Remember Me?' earlier, I said I would, but many of the reasons have now been carried over to the Switch.

I don't regret buying my Wii U now, but only because that would have meant a whole lot of discussion I'd have missed out on, and I like chatting about games with you blokes. There's increasingly becoming no other reason to have picked it up.

Gabe, who is a Nintendo Youtube guy you've never heard of and whom I follow but rarely watch because I liked him in another guy's videos 5 years ago, always streams Nintendo Directs hoping for Bayo 3 news, with a little counter of how long it had been since we heard anything. It was at like 1,367 days or something.

The witch is back

A bit gutted they didn't give a month or even a hint at what quarter of 2022 this is dropping but aye this looks quality!

I'm hoping for the first half of 2022 considering we got to see gameplay in the trailer - I'd assume it's pretty far along in development as a result.

I was wondering if Nintendo were closing the Direct with Astral Chain 2 of all things when Lappy turned up. Great wee fake-out.

Now, I should probably get around to playing Bayonetta 2...

When they were advertising the Direct they said it was mainly going to be games released in winter, so maybe that suggests Q1 2022? I dunno. Here's hoping!

I actually splurged on a copy of Bayo 2 (including a download code for Bayo 1) on Switch last week and am waiting for it to arrive so hopefully I'll play through them both before 3 comes along. I have the first on 360 and the second on Wii U, but it will be nice to have all three on one system. (I feel so fancy, having the income to do that. 20 year old me would be proud.)

If I were a gambling man, I'd say this will be our March game for next year, a la Animal Crossing or Monhan.

We do have two games in March anyway, nothing February but gaming as a whole is releasing 700 games that month that it wouldn't be wise in my opinion for then.

April is what I'm going for, then Kirby May and so on.

What are the two Switch games for March?

Triangle Strategy and Rune Factory 5, sure I know not Nintendo published (Well Octopath was Triangle might be) but to me be daft if we get three exclusives in March then nothing in April.

Ahhh, I think Bayo has the broader appeal out of those so I can still see it dropping in March.

You might be right (not sure on appeal seeing how Octopath did etc), I'm just thinking personally I'd sooner see games spread out over a year, instead of them all on top of each other.

I can see Mas' logic, but I'd probably only buy Bayo of those three so I hope he's wrong!
