| I'm personally a big fan of review scores. Acts as a tidy summary of what's gone beforehand. Plus I just like numbers. The "that way you have to read" thing doesn't fly with me for a coupl'a reasons: - The last sentence of a review often does exactly the same as a score for those who don't want to read, only less tidily;
- If it's somebody I like reading I'll generally read the review anyway;
- If it's not, and there's no score, I'm even less likely to read the review. At least with a score there's a chance of "They put WHAT!? Why?"
I don't like all the Metacritic nonsense about bonuses depending on scores and that, but for me that's the company's fault, not the reviewer's. |

| I'll go back and read the rest of your review once I'm done with the game, but that first paragraph has me buzzing to tuck into this later on tonight. I beat Ground Zeroes late last night, so I'm all good to go. It has a hell of a job to do to topple MGS3 as my favourite MGS game, but it might just be up to the job. |

Didn't think it was too bad, seeing as it was in all the trailers, but I've swapped it to be safe. |

| Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double TroubleIt really feels like this was rushed to launch before the SNES totally keeled over; it feels like it could have done with another two worlds (unless I was missing something). Never mind - what's here is quite nice. A reasonable final SNES DKC, albeit one that doesn't live up to either of its predecessors. 13/20 |

| Uncharted: Drake's Fortune Wasn't sure if I should put here that it's the last game I finished as it's part of a collection but then again it's own game with it's own Trophies, It now has Trophies back in my day we didn't have such things. I say back in my day as the last time I played it there wasn't a patch for Trophies in 2007 which was the last time I played the game. I remember it being decent enough early life title, that I picked up as just spending £450 on a PS3 just 10 months early there wasn't much to play on it that I couldn't get on 360 and wasn't better on 360 as well. Then Uncharted 2 came along a few years later and blew me away and made my memories of the first worse and thinking it was just alright now after 8 years going into the Nathan Drake Collection, I was thinking the first would be awful with all that time passing and recently playing the likes of Kameo & PDZ on XBONE & seeing that they haven't held up very well. To my pleasant surprise Uncharted 1 is actually rather good, it's simple compared to the rest but no means a bad game also Bluepoint has done amazing job with the game, you can tell it's old but not 8 years it looks more like 4. I know Balla likes a score & I normally give one on here but it's kinda hard, I had fun, it was better then I thought it would be, but it is short but doesn't feel like anythings missing but in 2015 6hrs with no MP on it's own might not be considered great also I know I've got Uncharted 2 coming up which was in my old Top 25 games of all-time. I kinda want to give Drake's Fortune a 8/10 but I know Uncharted 2 will be leaps and bound better that Drakes Fortune gets a 7.5/10 in grand-scheme of things. You can also watch me play the game badly as I seem to die often on the jumping sections but Andy did bring up in the podcast about that from the original PS3 version and none of it effected my enjoyment of the game. |

| I've got all three on PS3 to play through. I'll get round to around the time Uncharted 4 comes out.
I beat Super Meat Boy. Had it on Steam for years, and thought I should finally beat when I got it as part of PS+ on PS4. It's infuriatingly good - what I mean by that is that the controls are so tight and the levels so well designed that when you die over and over again, you've nobody really to blame but your own incompetence. I rage quit this a couple of times, but it drew me back.
This attempt here is a good example of my rage. If you listen quietly, some say you can actually hear me cursing and blinding when I die, even though there's no microphone audio.
I'll give it an 8 - if you're good at these sort of games, it's a 10. There's no better torture platformer (as I like to call this Kaizo genre of super-hard platformers) out there.
PS. the end of level replays as shown here never get old. |

| Citizens Of EarthThis was sold to the populace on the basis that it would be like EarthBound. Stealing a lot of the style of EB will not give you its brilliance, though. The game is pleasant enough, with a sprinkling of great ideas in its character recruitment system (though no more fetch quests, please), and a meandering storyline that blossoms well. It's just so bugged. Even the patch that came out in the spring didn't help that much - it's caused my Wii U to crash about ten times in the last week. However good your game is, if it's that broken, you can't have a high rating. 9/20(if a patch comes out that truly fixes everything, make that 15/20) |

| Citizens of Earth has always interested me, but I've heard a lot of mixed opinions about the game so I've not bought it yet. Honestly, after Undertale I reckon CoE would pale in comparison. |

| Life is Strange: Episode 5 Polarized I reviewed EP 1 ages ago now and even on Gintendo, it was okay but each Episode since has got better and better, with this game coming into GOTY talk. EP5 was great with a slightly iffy ending which I did see coming from EP1, I wanted to talk more about the game but it's all just going be spoilers. I know Drunka has also finished and maybe he put a cross it better then me and he's played all of it in almost one go as well. |

| Glad you didn't drop any spoilers, I'm going to download this once all the episodes are out. Is the 5th the final episode?
I just downloaded The Walking Dead Season 1, which is FREE if you have Xbox Live Gold on 360. Having completed the first episode a few months back, I can't wait to pick this game back up. Might even play it with the wife, as from what I've heard, it's one of the best games of the last generation. |

TWD is great, I don't really it's a great game of the last gen as due to its nature, I see it more like a TV show which comes to everything. |

| I looooooved Life is Strange. The ending hit me pretty powerfully. I wouldn't go as far as to say I saw it coming, but I thought we'd see something like what we did. It still got to me though. I'll give proper thoughts when I'm less tired. |

| I also finished Life is Strange. Episode 5 is very different from prior eps, but everything it did still hit me like a freight train, such was my investment in the game's characters.
It's one of those games with clever uses of colours and symbolism, which can be read into like as a film studies student would a film, but seamlessly marries all of that with a cracking rewind gameplay mechanic, some clever puzzles, and excellent character writing. I'll probably write up an article on this sort of thing at some point, but not so soon after the release, and not without spoiler warnings.
Over the course of the 5 episodes you will find yourself developing an identity for the protagonist, your choices feel organic, and even if many will see the ending coming, the journey there and the development of Max are what makes this game an absolute must have for fans of the episodic adventure genre.
I've got other things to play yet, but this is probably my game of the year.
Walking Dead S1 is absolutely cracking, featuring one of my all time favorite video games characters. Go through it, its gripping stuff and one of TT's best along with The Wolf Among Us. |

| Some games what I have finished in the last couple of days Life is StrangeThis is absolute rubbish being forced down our throats by the liberal left. You play as a girl in a school, there's no combat, whenever a character has a gun the game gives you a big lecture on how guns are bad, it's full of talking and emotions, there's fat people and black people and all kinds of bollocks. Pretentious shite. Why can't games just be fun? Naw, it was really good. In gameplay and technical terms, it pisses all over Telltale's output. Then the real meat of the game, the story and character and writing, was absolutely fantastic. I really believed and loved these people, despite some critics' assertions they were "unrealistic hipsters." I work with teenagers and have a brother who is a teenager, plus I never really grew up myself, and these characters felt really close to the mark. The other major complaint I can see people having is the ending; without giving too much away, it is pretty predictable (though the when and how caught me off guard like a real hard punch in the gut) and, like Mass Effect 3, it was a final decision which didn't change based on your earlier actions. But I think complaining here, like Mass Effect, is missing the point. You're role playing a character, and going through the story and making decisions with her is all about getting to know her so his final decision makes you feel something, which it absolutely did. I had to go for a walk. 0/10SJW nonsenseHalo 4Going into Halo 4, I'd heard pretty mixed things; that this was crap, that it was good, that it just about lived up to expectations, that it was basically COD with a Halo skin... no. This is Halo, and bloody good Halo at that. The reason I like Halo's shooting so much, and dislike COD's, is that I feel involved. I make decisions, I use the various weapons and the environment, and I kill the baddies my way. If Master Chief weren't there, the goodies would all die. Even though some of 4's levels are more linear than Combat Evolved, this has been the trend ever since Halo 2. I never expected an open world game, I don't mind a linear story experience, but when I get into the firefights, I want them to feel like Halo and this delivers. There's at least one big, Halo setpiece per mission: an open facility, with lots of enemies scattered about your various objectives, with a variety of weapons and turrets and vehicles. You jump on a hoverbike, shoot over to a tank, take out the gunner, jump off your bike onto the tank to chuck a grenade down the hatch, then hop into a spaceship, fight a dogfight above the battlefield and finally land at your objective and capture a building on foot. Sublime. The other thing to talk about is the graphics: I cannot believe this game ran on the same machine as Halo 3. The lighting, the characters, the worlds... this looks absolutely phenomenal and makes me shiver at the thought of what 343 are gonna pull off with Halo 5 next week. 10/10Yeah, shoot the bad men! |

| I'm a Halo 4 isn't very good person and the worst of the traditional Halo's but not to say it's bad but if you have me a choice of this or another Halo to play, I'd take one of the others.
I felt 343 played it safe with 4, and hoping that they've took risks with 5 and not made it a COD clone which it does a look a bit like from some trailers and what I heard about regular MP.
Also the story is a bit iffy in 4 compared to the rest.
Ohh should we just say now due to how we all like Life is Strange give it the Gintendo GOTY award and hope it gets on the GOTY edition box. |

| - Life is Strange spoilers:
Crap, I just finished it and I'm gutted. I've played all the episodes over the last 3 days and it's been a hell of a ride. I absolutely loved the first 4 episodes and how character focused they were and the small, silly scale of half of the rewinds. Kate's death (in my game at least) was absolutely devastating. I've never a button so hard in my life, especially despite knowing it was futile.
I wasn't exactly thrilled after the reveal of Disabled Chloe as I thought that large time leaps would spoil the impact of this small tightly woven and personal story, though the actual moments with Chloe were simply amazing and I properly couldn't handle that whole section. Brilliant!
Then we move onto the end of ep 4 and I didn't really like the Jefferson reveal. I'd taken a guess at either Madsen or Jeffersen being involved after the teaser at the end of ep 2 (I think that's the one) and I didn't think it was Madsen at that point so it only left one option. Anyway I was always going into the final ep expecting an increase in the time jumping over the personal stories which was disappointing, but there we go and I was greeted with good moments with David, Joyce, the Nathan call, Warren and of course, Chloe, however the ending really killed it for me.
Firstly the end stretch felt crazy dragged out. I didn't enjoy the corridor after corridor bits or the everything is backwards bit and I really hated the frankly annoying flashlight section. It didn't help that I accidently got caught by the first one and found that my only punishment was rewinding til the guy pissed off.
Finally the "endings" are pretty crap aren't they? Please somebody tell me it's not just me here. You've got the token second choice ending of destroying Arcadia and letting everyone die, which is insanely shorter and the game clearly looks down on your for doing so (not that anyone is likely to other than to see what would've happened anyway) and the sacrifice Chloe ending which I can't get over the lazy time travel logic on. The goodbye scene was amazing, in my game Max and Chloe were a little more than Best friends (at least the kiss certainly indicated that) so it was horrific that she was being torn away from the person who meant the most to her in the world, however it was for such a bullshit reason. She can't save Chloe because that will create a paradox but getting Jefferson arrested despite the fact she'd never have known it was him and Kate not killing herself is all fair game? Bollocks...
For the rest of you, good game, shite end that doesn't totally ruin it, but definitely takes away any chance of GOTY, just like Mass Effect 3 On a side note, Tales From the Borderlands ended wonderfully. A good bit of fun for anyone regardless of their feelings about Borderlands, honest. |
