| See I find this interesting as I've seen a few people say there non-gaming significant others, have been watching them play it. It might be slightly different sat next to your partner playing it on a sofa, then some random person over the internet. With most saying there partner loved watching it and one guy joked how he was playing Uncharted 4 then switched to DOOM which there wife from the sounds of it The gameplay or game design, how ever you want to put it is good but it's not why it's master piece a bit like TLoU due to how it all comes together is why. At the moment it's in my Top 10 games of all-time and in my opinion the best game of this generation, as it's that good. I don't really like giving scores but as some do I did and only reason it didn't get a 10 which I think is near impossible, is due to how there seems to be maybe one or two chapters ti many near the end. |

| This looks like it might be the only Uncharted I wouldn't dislike, as it actually delves into why Drake is such a cock. |

| Uncharted 3 sort of does that as well (plus he's never been a cock) also this one has all the feels as well. |

| Yeah it's got Neil's finger prints all over it, now that he's director.
Basically it's TLoU but less dark and better gameplay. |

You see for me for a game to be labelled a masterpiece telling a good story & the story has been enjoyable isn't all it should be doing, I think the videogamer review nails it to be honest. |

| It's age old GNamer argument which we've talked about before on random thoughts gameplay v story and for me story is more important.
Which Uncharted 4 has along with good gameplay.
A game the otherway can also be a master piece in gameplay.
Basically Uncharted 4 is the best at what it does. |

| I get what you are saying but for a game to considered the best of the best then it should excel at more than one thing, so gameplay & story should be hand in hand one essentially driving the other as for me it wouldn't matter if a story was superb if the gameplay wasn't engaging to me.
Of course this a lot more complex depending on the kind of genre you are looking at.

| Yeah as when we were talking Raider and Uncharted, Andy brought up Telltale games which I think we can all agree gameplay is lacking yet due to great story telling I think most of us would say there great games.
The gameplay if I was giving a score on it's own in Uncharted 4 is about a 8 but the story, graphics art direction & technical point of view, acting, soundtrack etc are all near perfect.
Also there's multiplayer which is actually rather decent as well making it a very very good complete package. |

| Yo-Kai WatchI'll do a proper review later, with number and everything. But giving the number's going to be tricky. This is a game which has a heck of a lot of flaws, some subtle some obvious... but it's tremendous fun. Really good fun game. I'll be gleefully taking on the post-game content, which is something I haven't done in any game in a while. |

| I'm actually looking forward to reading some words on Yo-Kai. I can't decide if I care or not, and there are no Nintendo mags to tell me! |

| Yeah Bayonetta is one of those games that I adored when it came out, but that was because I was at university and had plenty of time to get good at it. It's the last thing I'd want to play after a day at work and once the kids are in bed, so I can see what you're saying. I still think it's one of the silkiest, most satisfying action games of recent times, but the plot can do one. Absolute nonsense. Although it almost gets a pass because it throws in lots of videogame references (I lost my shit the first time I heard the guy who sells weapons/upgrades say "Whaddaya buying?? I heard that in some game."). |

| I will say that this is a prime case of numbers/text discrepancy - you slate it for the entire paragraph, Zero, then give it 7.5/10! |

| I think I'm insulting me for a couple of lines! I was going to open with "Arguably the best action game of the last gen, Bayonetta something something something" (my memory is fading) because the quality is there to justify that; I just haven't made that clear enough in my wordage. |

| It definitely does reward a second run through (assuming you've stuck to normal anyway) as hard mode (which only unlocks after beating the game) has a totally new set of enemies and almost feels like a new set of levels because of it. It is a tough one to get into though, so if you're not going to put the time in it sounds like you've got the best you could out of it, 2 is much more accessible, so if I wouldn't give up if you've been put off of that. As for the costumes, I don't think the devs were going to remake the cutscenes for rerelease |

| I'm with Andy on suggesting you try out Bayo 2 also, I enjoyed the first but wasn't completely blown away like others were but the overall pace of the chapters and boss fights in 2 are so much better. |

| One of my top ten favourite games of all time, but like The Game That Must Not be Named, I can totally understand someone not being into it because of the difficulty. |

| Bayo 2 edges it over 1 for me but have to agree with Drunka about the quality of the series (is 2 games a series), it a bit Uncharted 4, The Game That Must Not be Named in a way is the blue print of what the genre should be.
You might not like some of these genres as Balla once said about something in game didn't finish but you know there the crème de la crème of that genre. I think that's what Zero might be getting at with his review. |

| Yeah, mas is onto something there. Bayonetta is in a genre I don't normally go for but it's a confident, powerful, fun game. I won't be playing it again because I hardly ever replay games: I'm like a butterfly, flitting from flower to flower, getting the nectar that I want and then getting out of there. |

| I'm with you there Zero, I need a good two-year break between playing the same game twice. If I'm having to slog through stuff I've already played and beaten then the game is doing it wrong.
Speaking of which, expect an entry in this thread's less-desirable sibling soon. |

| Out of interest, do you replay games that offer multiple playthroughs/radically different experiences on multiple playthroughs?
For example, I played through Deus Ex: Human Revolution twice back-to-back and Dishonored three times, but it wasn't so much replaying the game as it was experiencing the game very differently each time.
On topic: I finished (and platinum'd) Severed on Vita on Friday. It's a fun, unique and progressive take on the classic dungeon crawler and is another top Vita exclusive. |

| Digger Dan DXSo I paid 89p for this game. It reminded me strongly of Boulder Dash, a game in which you cleared away dirt to make a path to the exit, collecting diamonds and avoiding boulders ( ) and enemies along the way. DDDX doesn't have enough challenge or gameplay elements to really sustain itself over its one hundred levels (twenty-five of which are tutorial) unless you want to get gold stars across the board... which I didn't. Despite its cheapness, I can't recommend it wholeheartedly. 11/20 |

| Bravely SecondWhilst absolutely a better game than the original, Bravely Second suffers a little from the same issue as Super Mario Galaxy and its sequel. They're pretty similar games, so do you side with the first one, the one where everything was new, or the second one, where everything was improved? As I side with SMG, so will I be siding with Bravely Default ahead of this. A large number of the plot tricks of the first game are repeated here and, although there are some new things, it can feel like a retread at times. Nonetheless, it's an excellent game: even more player friendly than its predecessor in terms of options and non-repetitive plotline (well, almost). RPG fans can't afford to miss! 17/20 |
