| It's like stereotypical Tourette's, bless him. (Stereotypical, mind, not how TS actually is for most people.) What I'm picking up is that we should all head over to Japan for the next meet-up? At least people can't moan about uneven distances then! (Drunka aside...) - Drunkalilly wrote:
- The mischievous Tanuki spirit is often depicted here in Japan as having massive, bulging testicles. I bet that doesn’t show up in the game, which is a damn shame.
Tanukis barely appear, actually! Which is a shame, there's one boss that could do with having a tanuki's scrotum shoved right up in its face. |

| WELCOME BACK TO MEET THE ADMIN TEAM ON TODAY, OCTOBER 1ST. WE ARE ON TIME, LIKE OUR GREAT BRITISH PUBLIC TRANSPORT SERVICE. THANK YOU. - The Anti-Procrastinator, JayMoyles:
The expansion for Xenoblade 2, Torna the Golden Country, came out in September. Which gaming world do you wish you could visit 500 years prior?
Mario Kart. I want old school horse and cart style racing with Mario and chums being driven around by Yoshis.
The third Nintendo Labo kit had you travelling in a car, a hovercraft, and a plane. What would you like to see in Diddy Kong Racing 2?
Diddy and pals being driven around by Yoshis.
Marvel's Spider-Man captured the hearts of PS4 owners last month with the best superhero game since Arkham Knight. Which superhero are you dying to get to grips with in a properly good video game?
I'd love to play a Dr. Strange game. They could get really wild with the effects, I'd bet.
September was a big month for fans of Rule 63 with Bowsette captivating Twitter and Terry Bogard turning up in SNK Heroines as a girl. Which character is next to have the Rule 63 treatment?
Ditto.
The Predator hit cinemas last month, in which the titular alien assassin crept around suburbia hunting its prey. How would you survive an attack from the Predator in your neck of the woods?
I'd stay the fuck away from our local park - it's pretty damn big and full of spots for Predders to get me. I'd probably hide in my local community centre on election day - there's always a dog tied to a lamppost outside which barks as you enter, and that'll surely scare Predders away.
The oldest-known evidence of beer was found last month. It needn't be 11,000-year-old beer, but tell us about a drink you wish you hadn't had.
They called it a "suicide bomb" - questionable name, I know - and it was comprised of Jagermeister and Goldschlager and energy drink. It was vile, it defeated me for the evening and it came back to haunt me not long after I'd drunk it. Never again.
- King of Timekeeping, Balladeer:
The expansion for Xenoblade 2, Torna the Golden Country, came out in September. Which gaming world do you wish you could visit 500 years prior? I'd like to see what the Pokémon world was like in bygone days. Before the PC system, before TMs - before even the modern Poké Ball, perhaps. Would it have been more like Monster Hunter?
The third Nintendo Labo kit had you travelling in a car, a hovercraft, and a plane. What would you like to see in Diddy Kong Racing 2? Screw Diddy, Funky Kong Racing all the way! Play as Funky or one of his ironically cool friends. Featuring guest appearance from Duke Nukem.
Marvel's Spider-Man captured the hearts of PS4 owners last month with the best superhero game since Arkham Knight. Which superhero are you dying to get to grips with in a properly good video game? As a Nintendonly gamer I have to reign in my expectations, I think. Spider-Man was a Sony exclusive, and any other game doing a similar movement system justice (e.g. Iron Man's flight suit) over an open world would have to have some serious grunt behind it. On the other hand, I can see myself guiding The Incredibles' Frozone and his icy surfing through some pretty interesting, but functionally linear, levels. So him.
September was a big month for fans of Rule 63 with Bowsette captivating Twitter and Terry Bogard turning up in SNK Heroines as a girl. Which character is next to have the Rule 63 treatment? The_Jaster. She keeps the beard.
The Predator hit cinemas last month, in which the titular alien assassin crept around suburbia hunting its prey. How would you survive an attack from the Predator in your neck of the woods? Go to Staines, where I reside for work, in the knowledge that Preds would find it too boring to bother with.
The oldest-known evidence of beer was found last month. It needn't be 11,000-year-old beer, but tell us about a drink you wish you hadn't had. Mead. I love mead. The last two birthday parties I've thrown I've had mead. I ended up sobbing into The Lady's arms after the last one was over because one of my friends was having trouble at work. I know this only because she told me. Mead is a delicious delicious mistake.

| The expansion for Xenoblade 2, Torna the Golden Country, came out in September. Which gaming world do you wish you could visit 500 years prior? I guess the Pokemon world, but that's Pokemon Conquest isn't it? Maybe it would be interesting to see the old civilization in Monster Hunter being destroyed by the monsters, or the human race going extinct in Pikmin.
The third Nintendo Labo kit had you travelling in a car, a hovercraft, and a plane. What would you like to see in Diddy Kong Racing 2? Racial sensitivity.
Marvel's Spider-Man captured the hearts of PS4 owners last month with the best superhero game since Arkham Knight. Which superhero are you dying to get to grips with in a properly good video game? I think Thor or Hulk could make for a relaxingly dumb Dynasty Warriors-esque button mashing mankiller.
September was a big month for fans of Rule 63 with Bowsette captivating Twitter and Terry Bogard turning up in SNK Heroines as a girl. Which character is next to have the Rule 63 treatment? Marcus Feenix. Let's see that testosterone beast given some femininity.
The Predator hit cinemas last month, in which the titular alien assassin crept around suburbia hunting its prey. How would you survive an attack from the Predator in your neck of the woods? They're pretty accustomed to monster attacks around here, I'm sure there's a number I can call. There are also plenty of swords around that I can arm myself with.
The oldest-known evidence of beer was found last month. It needn't be 11,000-year-old beer, but tell us about a drink you wish you hadn't had. Oh, there isn't one. #NoRegrets. |

| The expansion for Xenoblade 2, Torna the Golden Country, came out in September. Which gaming world do you wish you could visit 500 years prior? Can I turn this one around and have Zelda set 500 years in the future a the series has often gone backwards in the timeline but not forward along with the motorbike making more sense.
The third Nintendo Labo kit had you travelling in a car, a hovercraft, and a plane. What would you like to see in Diddy Kong Racing 2? The whole racing idea that was had which got cancelled seemed decent and something different, especially now Mario Kart has a lot of what Diddy did.
Marvel's Spider-Man captured the hearts of PS4 owners last month with the best superhero game since Arkham Knight. Which superhero are you dying to get to grips with in a properly good video game? Really depends as I'd love to see Rocksteady do a Batman Beyond game, I'd like a decent Ninja Turtles game, could see an old man logan game working like God of War/Last of Us.
September was a big month for fans of Rule 63 with Bowsette captivating Twitter and Terry Bogard turning up in SNK Heroines as a girl. Which character is next to have the Rule 63 treatment? Really back to question one, I want a playable female Link in a mainline Zelda game if I can't play as Zelda herself.
The Predator hit cinemas last month, in which the titular alien assassin crept around suburbia hunting its prey. How would you survive an attack from the Predator in your neck of the woods? Predator only hunts for sport and targets the best of the best, so I'd be okay.
The oldest-known evidence of beer was found last month. It needn't be 11,000-year-old beer, but tell us about a drink you wish you hadn't had. When I was like 13 or 14 and drank a whole case of Reef (remember that), sure it's alcohol percentage wasn't much per bottle but a case sure was. It was the time I had a hangover and one of the reasons I didn't drink for years.
@Drunka Marcus is now a side character and so is his son, Kait is the now main character that sure isn't not quite the same but still something. |

Can I turn this one around and have Zelda set 500 years in the future a the series has often gone backwards in the timeline but not forward along with the motorbike making more sense. No! Cheater. That said, I've often talked up a futuristic, almost Blade Runner-style Zelda. BotW had elements of that to be sure, as did SS, but I'd love to see Link go full cyberpunk. - masofdas wrote:

If we're going by the original Old Man Logan series, it'd actually be closer to Mad Max or Fallout. Lots of mutated Hulk beasts kicking about, Logan is more of a battle weary wanderer and X-23 is nowhere in sight. Obviously, going by the movie it'd be closer in tone to GoW or TLoU. - Balladeer wrote:

| So you think you're ready to meet us... but are you ready to meet us... on time!?- Jayseph 'The Somebody Who's Calling' Moyles:
It's Hallowe'en! OoooooooOOOOOOOooooooor at least it was when we wrote these questions. What's your favourite ghost or ghoul in gaming?
I like Bow from Paper Mario. She was pretty strong if I remember correctly and I love the "ohohohoho" anime-style laugh she does.
Dark Souls Remastered finally crawled its shambling way onto Switch in October. Which type of weather or climate-related phenomenon would you praise if given the choice?
Praise the Reasonably Sunny Day With A Light Breeze to Keep Me Cool But Not So Much That I'm Cold!
The World Ends With You made its way Switchwards last month. In the game, you power up your characters by wearing clothes that are seen as trendy. If you had to go out on an adventure right now, what would you chuck on as your attire of choice?
Hoodie. Jeans. Trainers. I'd suck in a battle based on trendiness.
Super Mario Party brought more local multiplayer shenanigans to the Switch last month, but by most accounts, its online is a bit dump. What activity, gaming or otherwise, do you wish you could engage in with people that are far away that you can't?
Regularly meeting up with folks, genuinely. Most of my friends are too far away to do that on the regular, sadly.
Red Dead Redemption 2 said howdy to the world at the tail end of October. If you were dumped 130 years in the past into the Wild West, what escapades would you get up to?
I'd head East. I wouldn't last a day in the ol' West!
Doctor Who returned to our screens last month and by all accounts once again successfully recast the Doctor, with the wonderful Jodie Whittaker taking up the mantle this time. If you had the power to recast any character in a film or TV show with another actor, who would you choose and why?
Nicolas Cage was supposedly nearly cast as Aragorn in the LotR trilogy and I really really want to see that version of the trilogy now.
- Patrick 'Unparalleled Focus' Kielty:
It's Hallowe'en! OoooooooOOOOOOOooooooor at least it was when we wrote these questions. What's your favourite ghost or ghoul in gaming? Ignoring the many cute/spooky Pokémon, it's got to be Missile from Ghost Trick. He's a top Pomeranian, don'cha know.
Dark Souls Remastered finally crawled its shambling way onto Switch in October. Which type of weather or climate-related phenomenon would you praise if given the choice? Praise The Sudden Cooling Of The Temperature Into Autumn, Allowing Me To Sleep Reasonably Well And Also Wrap Up In Nice Coats!
The World Ends With You made its way Switchwards last month. In the game, you power up your characters by wearing clothes that are seen as trendy. If you had to go out on an adventure right now, what would you chuck on as your attire of choice? Right now it's bloody cold, so the aforementioned nice coat, a tartan scarf, and some opera gloves. No reason I can't look dashing at the same time.
Super Mario Party brought more local multiplayer shenanigans to the Switch last month, but by most accounts, its online is a bit dump. What activity, gaming or otherwise, do you wish you could engage in with people that are far away that you can't? I live in Staines during the week, meaning I can't take part in the many weeknight events that'll be taking place in London during NaNoWriMo. So them.
Red Dead Redemption 2 said howdy to the world at the tail end of October. If you were dumped 130 years in the past into the Wild West, what escapades would you get up to? Great Scott, inquirer! I'd get to work on using my knowledge of future technology to try and stop myself from getting shot/parched/bitten/mauled within the first day.
Doctor Who returned to our screens last month and by all accounts once again successfully recast the Doctor, with the wonderful Jodie Whittaker taking up the mantle this time. If you had the power to recast any character in a film or TV show with another actor, who would you choose and why? I'd re-cast Han Solo as a woman. Or maybe Bill Murray's chap in Ghostbusters.

| 2018 is nearly over... how time flies, folks. Let's meet the admin. team one final time in 2018. - JayMoyles:
Pokémon Let's Go! Pikachu took us back to Kanto this month. Luke Playves Pokémon listeners know that Pikachu wasn't originally the series mascot - what Pokémon, or other entity, should have been?
"Other entity"? Mr. Blobby. He's basically a Pokémon anyway, have him be Mr. Mime's demented cousin or whatever.
In time-honoured fashion, PLGP was accompanied by Pokémon Let's Go! Eevee. What Eeveelution should Eevee get next generation?
None. Eevee undergoes a journey of self-discovery and realises that whilst everybody else around him may want him to change, he's perfectly happy the way he is.
Diablo III found itself greatly enhanced on Switch with the inclusion of a playable Ganondorf skin. What game really needs amiibo integration next and in what way would they be used?
Dark Souls needed better amiibo integration than the Solaire amiibo. Let's summon in an absolutely terrified Lucas to do battle with the Gaping Dragon, or watch in horror as the true evil, Kirby, inhales the population of Lordran.
Cabela's: The Hunt - Championship Edition came out last month and... well, it's another hunting game. How could Cabela make their games animal friendly instead?
Take the "stroke and pet your army" thing from Fire Emblem and apply it to Cabela's. Sorted.
Ralph took a page out of Kim K's book and broke the Internet at the very end of last month in Wreck-It Ralph 2, in which Ralph finds himself inside the Internet. What would GNamer look like if it was depicted in the movie?
It'd absolutely be a pokey little bar with a dedicated group of regulars.
With Black Friday and Brexit, it's been a big month for deals. Tell us about either a good deal or a terrible deal you were involved in.
£1 Jagerbombs at a bar around the corner from my first year uni flat. A good deal on paper, a terrible deal come the morning after.
- Balladeer:
Pokémon Let's Go! Pikachu took us back to Kanto this month. Luke Playves Pokémon listeners know that Pikachu wasn't originally the series mascot - what Pokémon, or other entity, should have been? Sandshrew. Like Pikachu, it's cute; like Pikachu, it has broad cross-spectrum appeal; but it has a better evolution, and I genuinely think it's cuter. Of course, if I'd been over-exposed to Sandshrew in the way I have been to Pikachu, I probably wouldn't feel like that...
In time-honoured fashion, PLGP was accompanied by Pokémon Let's Go! Eevee. What Eeveelution should Eevee get next generation? The new Sound-type will come with its own Eeveelution, wearing shades and a backwards baseball cap and carrying a boombox. Funkeon is ready to groove.
Diablo III found itself greatly enhanced on Switch with the inclusion of a playable Ganondorf skin. What game really needs amiibo integration next and in what way would they be used? I thought Code Name: STEAM's inclusion of the Fire Emblem characters was immense, but I liked how it was also entirely optional. JRPGs and the like could really benefit from something similar. Imagine touching Mewtwo into XC2 as a Blade. Heck, why not allow touching Lucario into Pokémon Let's Go for an utterly off-Pokédex addition? The amiibo could save the levelling up, too, allowing your Lucario to hop between games. And levelling up your Lucario in Smash could carry over into Pokémon and vice versa... (starts furiously typing an e-mail to Nintendo)
Cabela's: The Hunt - Championship Edition came out last month and... well, it's another hunting game. How could Cabela make their games animal friendly instead? You play as the stag, trying to gore the hunter. Succeed and you unlock the ability to play as bears, eagles, pikes... At the game's climax, you assemble your animal army and march on American cities, thus orchestrating the much-deserved fall of man.
Ralph took a page out of Kim K's book and broke the Internet at the very end of last month in Wreck-It Ralph 2, in which Ralph finds himself inside the Internet. What would GNamer look like if it was depicted in the movie? WORDS EVERYWHERE. Seriously, Ralph's trying to get through a maze of our posts while the Grackler chases him.
With Black Friday and Brexit, it's been a big month for deals. Tell us about either a good deal or a terrible deal you were involved in. I bought a used PS3 for £80 because the Wii U was on its last legs. The games, some of them relatively new, must have cost between £20 and £40 a pop. I haven't touched it since the Switch came out, meaning I played about three hours total of two games.

Pokémon Let's Go! Pikachu took us back to Kanto this month. Luke Playves Pokémon listeners know that Pikachu wasn't originally the series mascot - what Pokémon, or other entity, should have been? My pick for the mascot is not sandshrew though, my pick is the only one that makes sense: Ditto. All the pokemon, all the moves. Simple.
In time-honoured fashion, PLGP was accompanied by Pokémon Let's Go! Eevee. What Eeveelution should Eevee get next generation? Fighting type. With a big muscly arm instead of a tail. Call it Bruce Leevee or something.
Diablo III found itself greatly enhanced on Switch with the inclusion of a playable Ganondorf skin. What game really needs amiibo integration next and in what way would they be used? It already has amiibo integration I know. But I am really into the idea of making the Mario amiibo a little more meaningful in Breath of The Wild, specifically giving link his very own cappy hat so he can cappy jump and dive around Hyrule. I cannot physically imagine anything better than that. It would have durability obviously and would maybe only be a daily use thing but you could have a huge amount of fun with it and it would add so many possibilities.
Oh! oh! oh! Capturing a guardian that puts it under a friendly ai so it follows you around and is your friend and fights for you!
Cabela's: The Hunt - Championship Edition came out last month and... well, it's another hunting game. How could Cabela make their games animal friendly instead? Replace all the animals with pokemon and the bullets with balls, still launched at lethal speeds of course. Alternatively tranquilising the beasties as part of a minigame in a larger Tycoon-style national park sim.
Ralph took a page out of Kim K's book and broke the Internet at the very end of last month in Wreck-It Ralph 2, in which Ralph finds himself inside the Internet. What would GNamer look like if it was depicted in the movie? A little known pipe somewhere in the back of the cellar that is the last remaining bastion of informed banter and lewd discussion on the internet.
With Black Friday and Brexit, it's been a big month for deals. Tell us about either a good deal or a terrible deal you were involved in. Shopping for a new book yesterday I came across a book on iaido (fancy pants sword art from japan) for 200 pounds sterling GBP. So I checked amazon and got it for 29 instead. Bargain!

| - Spoiler:
Pokémon Let's Go! Pikachu took us back to Kanto this month. Luke Playves Pokémon listeners know that Pikachu wasn't originally the series mascot - what Pokémon, or other entity, should have been? I mean, nobody right? The appeal of Pokemon is the ever-expanding pool of monsters and the scope for personal expression and customisation. No one Pokemon can capture that.
In time-honoured fashion, PLGP was accompanied by Pokémon Let's Go! Eevee. What Eeveelution should Eevee get next generation? Ghost type: Napoleon.
Diablo III found itself greatly enhanced on Switch with the inclusion of a playable Ganondorf skin. What game really needs amiibo integration next and in what way would they be used? Fifa. I want to sign Waluigi and Solaire of Astora to Tottenham Hotspur.
Cabela's: The Hunt - Championship Edition came out last month and... well, it's another hunting game. How could Cabela make their games animal friendly instead? Let me pick sides at the start. Sure, I can play as a pathetic limp-dicked dentist, paying money to murder a creature and feel like the big man in a gross display of the spiralling amoral capitalist nightmare in which we are all trapped . . . or I can play as a bear, creep up behind him and rip him apart like a wet paper bag.
Ralph took a page out of Kim K's book and broke the Internet at the very end of last month in Wreck-It Ralph 2, in which Ralph finds himself inside the Internet. What would GNamer look like if it was depicted in the movie? Like a save room from Resi or a bonfire from Dark Souls. The one nice place on this electronic hell.

"Other entity"? Mr. Blobby. He's basically a Pokémon anyway, have him be Mr. Mime's demented cousin or whatever. - NintenDUCK wrote:
- My pick for the mascot is not sandshrew though, my pick is the only one that makes sense: Ditto. All the pokemon, all the moves. Simple.
You can't both pick the same option. Ducky's would potentially pave the way for GF to bring back Ditto's proposed evolution from the Gold/Silver beta... ...maybe not. - JayMoyles wrote:

It'd absolutely be a pokey little bar with a dedicated group of regulars. - Balladeer wrote:

These are absolutely all correct. A little-known pipe that takes you to a pokey bar with nice music and a bonfire, where you can pull up a chair and chat with regulars about informed and lewd matters (sometimes both); then Grackler crashes through the walls. Also all of these amiibo ideas are better than what Nintendo et al. have come up with for a good while. I'd love a pet Guardian. |

| That can fit into my headcanon also! Since it's a bit pokey, the arcade machines need a couple of good whacks to work. Also one of them has a taxidermy animal on them or something. - masofdas wrote:

I agree, they're just floating around with no clothes on! Nintendo should put a rubber ring on them at least. Won't somebody think of the children!? |

| Meet the Admin. Team in 2019! It's almost beautiful poetry. But it's not. - Patrick 'Bobby' Kielty:
Merry Christmas for a week or so ago! What's your favourite Christmas level or moment in gaming? For nostalgia reasons, mostly, jumping down a chimney to race a plump penguin.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has seen players battling through hundreds of themed fights in its Spirits mode. If you were a Spirit, how would your battle be represented in Smash? Robin, Meloetta support, slips over whenever he tries to do a physical attack.
Guacamelee 2 suplexed its way onto Switch this month. Which character do you think would make a good cameo appearance as a playable lucha libre wrestler in the series? Pikachu Libre. Cute little fella/lady. Could have some electric effects to her moves too.
Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse hit cinemas last month and showed off Spider-People from parallel worlds. What's your favourite parallel world story in film, TV, literature or gaming? See the above question. Guac 2 is more a parody of parallel world stories, but it's all the better for it.
Drones shut down Gatwick Airport for a day in December. When the machines inevitably take over, how will they go about it? Shut down social networks and credit/debit card payments, and watch us isolate ourselves and starve to death.
2018. Not our best year as a human race, but on a personal level, what was awesome in 2018 for you? The Lady, and Celeste. That's pretty much it, but there wasn't much awful either. A rather neutral year.
- Jayseph 'Jigglypuff' Moyles:

The "right" answer is probably Toy Day from numerous Animal Crossing games, but back when I played Runescape, they'd always put a lot of work into their seasonal events. Considering I was never brave enough to venture into the PVP areas, snowball fights at Christmas were all I had to take out my frustrations on fellow players.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has seen players battling through hundreds of themed fights in its Spirits mode. If you were a Spirit, how would your battle be represented in Smash?
A big Jigglypuff who sits in the corner and uses Rest a lot.
Guacamelee 2 suplexed its way onto Switch this month. Which character do you think would make a good cameo appearance as a playable lucha libre wrestler in the series?
Who's that jumping out the sky R-E-Y MYSTERIO HERE WE GO!
Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse hit cinemas last month and showed off Spider-People from parallel worlds. What's your favourite parallel world story in film, TV, literature or gaming?
Does A Link Between Worlds count? Lorule was pretty fun, even if the "Dark World" trope in Nintendo games is pretty tired by this point.
Drones shut down Gatwick Airport for a day in December. When the machines inevitably take over, how will they go about it?
Much like Luigi in Mario Party, they'll just do nothing and let us destroy ourselves. We're doing a bang up job already!
2018. Not our best year as a human race, but on a personal level, what was awesome in 2018 for you?
Not a lot, to be totally honest. 2018 has really sucked. In order to not sound like a total downer, and this is cheating somewhat, but I feel like I've set myself up for a great 2019 what with starting a proper fitness program in DDP Yoga and some other things in the pipeline too. So, December has been good, at least!

| Merry Christmas for a week or so ago! What's your favourite Christmas level or moment in gaming? Really thinking about it not many games are set around Christmas, with only Christmas Nights and start of Bayo 2 coming to mind.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has seen players battling through hundreds of themed fights in its Spirits mode. If you were a Spirit, how would your battle be represented in Smash? You have to take on Sonic, Link, Snake, Samus in a green suit
Guacamelee 2 suplexed its way onto Switch this month. Which character do you think would make a good cameo appearance as a playable lucha libre wrestler in the series? Travis Touchdown
Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse hit cinemas last month and showed off Spider-People from parallel worlds. What's your favourite parallel world story in film, TV, literature or gaming? Star Trek always seems to do a great job with other universes
Drones shut down Gatwick Airport for a day in December. When the machines inevitably take over, how will they go about it? Balla is on to it already, as I've seen everything go down in work and people lose there minds not being able to pay for anything due to lack of cards
2018. Not our best year as a human race, but on a personal level, what was awesome in 2018 for you? 2018 was much like 2017, they all sort of blend into one now.
