| Merry Christmas for a week or so ago! What's your favourite Christmas level or moment in gaming? The start of Bayonetta 2.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has seen players battling through hundreds of themed fights in its Spirits mode. If you were a Spirit, how would your battle be represented in Smash? You know those ones where the enemy gets more powerful when they eat? Like that, but only drinks appear.
Guacamelee 2 suplexed its way onto Switch this month. Which character do you think would make a good cameo appearance as a playable lucha libre wrestler in the series? Samus. Her armour could translate well to a Lucha outfit, I reckon.
Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse hit cinemas last month and showed off Spider-People from parallel worlds. What's your favourite parallel world story in film, TV, literature or gaming? Life is Strange episode 4.
Drones shut down Gatwick Airport for a day in December. When the machines inevitably take over, how will they go about it? They already have and nobody noticed, not even the people who thought they were controlling them. They did it through facebook.
2018. Not our best year as a human race, but on a personal level, what was awesome in 2018 for you? Well, it was easily the best year of my life . . . |

| Alright, you lot. It's time for another Meet the Admin Team! - James "Jay" Moyles:
b] New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe continued the trend of quality Wii U ports this month, including the super-hard New Super Luigi U DLC as standard. Which game would you create a new 'hard mode' for and how?[/b] Dark Souls. Every time you die, you lose a cherished memory to simulate going hollow. Suda51's love for alternate outfits came to the fore again in January, as Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes featured a collection of gaming t-shirts. What's your favourite piece of gaming apparel that you own, or wish you did? It's Soul Farming Time! I wish I owned that monstrosity, genuinely. Nintendo came out and announced that Metroid Prime 4 is being scrapped and restarted this month. What one thing do you most want to see in the finished product?Samus on her tod exploring an alien world. Let's get rid of the space marines and sassy companions, thanks! Resident Evil 2 impressed many in January with a incredible remake from the ground up of the PS1 classic. What game would you like to see remade and what changes would you make?Hm... Demon's Souls would probably make a lot of sense to be remade. Update the combat to feel like DSIII, refresh the visuals and leave the world intact - you'd have a tidy game, there. It's no secret that there's a fair few wrasslin' fans on GNamer... the question is though, who would come out on top in a GNamer Royal Rumble?I'd intimidate every body to leave the ring of their own volition with my dreaded "Cowboy Quickdraw" move before Zero makes a stunning return at Number 30 and does literally nothing after I hit myself with my own move. Finally, a simple one: what one game are you most looking forward to in 2019?Sekiro, I'd say. From tend to make bloody good games and I'm excited to see how they're deviating from the Souls trends whilst still keeping the feel intact.
- New Super Balladeer Deluxe:
New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe continued the trend of quality Wii U ports this month, including the super-hard New Super Luigi U DLC as standard. Which game would you create a new 'hard mode' for and how?Any of the Kirby games could qualify here, but I'm going to pick Super Mario Odyssey instead. Imagine a bunch more levels, NSLU-like, with the same care and craft gone into them as the main game. Suda51's love for alternate outfits came to the fore again in January, as Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes featured a collection of gaming t-shirts. What's your favourite piece of gaming apparel that you own, or wish you did?I recently got a Celeste t-shirt with Madeline and Badeline on it, half-and-half. It's ace.Nintendo came out and announced that Metroid Prime 4 is being scrapped and restarted this month. What one thing do you most want to see in the finished product?A beautiful world to explore and unwrap. That's it. No purple-washed dark worlds, no three separate planets. One single beautiful world that Samus opens up like the world's most stoic, least baby-obsessed Swiss army knife. Resident Evil 2 impressed many in January with a incredible remake from the ground up of the PS1 classic. What game would you like to see remade and what changes would you make? While there are a couple of games I'd like to see come to Switch in one form or another, they're ones I haven't played yet. So I don't know what changes I'd make. Really I'd like it if Nintendo stopped mucking around with ports/remakes, though. It was cute in years one and two, but any further and it's going to feel like they're padding out the schedule for when there aren't any good new games around. It's no secret that there's a fair few wrasslin' fans on GNamer... the question is though, who would come out on top in a GNamer Royal Rumble?ZeroJones, because the only winning move would be not to play. (Also he'd set his cats on us.) Finally, a simple one: what one game are you most looking forward to in 2019?Daemon x Machina. It looks like it's going to take the best bit of Xenoblade Chronicles X (anime robot flying/fighting/flyghting) and make an entire game out of it. I'm up for that.

| @Jay I think Demon's Souls would just get a remaster over a remake if it ever comes New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe continued the trend of quality Wii U ports this month, including the super-hard New Super Luigi U DLC as standard. Which game would you create a new 'hard mode' for and how?Now I'm someone that rarely plays hard modes nowadays compared to I did back when I was a kid and playing Halo on every mode was just what you did as that's the only game you had for ages, now a new game is out every day if you want it and can afford it. That now I just want to experience the story, that something different to the story in a hard mode would get me to play but would have to be more than a slightly different ending like with Res Evil 2. Suda51's love for alternate outfits came to the fore again in January, as Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes featured a collection of gaming t-shirts. What's your favourite piece of gaming apparel that you own, or wish you did?I don't anything, maybe this Nintendo came out and announced that Metroid Prime 4 is being scrapped and restarted this month. What one thing do you most want to see in the finished product?A good game Resident Evil 2 impressed many in January with an incredible remake from the ground up of the PS1 classic. What game would you like to see remade and what changes would you make?Last year we had Shadow of the Colossus which I'm still not sure if you would call a remake when you look at Res Evil 2 but is way more then a remaster, I'd really like to ICO done in the same way as SotC. It's no secret that there are a fair few wrasslin' fans on GNamer... the question is though, who would come out on top in a GNamer Royal Rumble?EofGiz as he can go get training from Finally, a simple one: what one game are you most looking forward to in 2019?Death Stranding, I believe |

| New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe continued the trend of quality Wii U ports this month, including the super-hard New Super Luigi U DLC as standard. Which game would you create a new 'hard mode' for and how? Pokemon. Lots of grinding. Difficult opponents who require complex competitive strategy to defeat. Tough catching. Forced Nuzlocke. No direction, you're just dropped into a tough map and left to it. Then maybe everyone will realise how shit that is and stop asking for it.
Suda51's love for alternate outfits came to the fore again in January, as Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes featured a collection of gaming t-shirts. What's your favourite piece of gaming apparel that you own, or wish you did? My Splatoon hoodie that I accidentally stole. I bought it along with some kit-kats when I first arrived in Tokyo but then as I was leaving, I realised I'd only been charged for the chocolate. Unfortunately I had no way of explaining that . . . Alternately, my Goomba hat. Its warm and also incredibly goofy. Its become my signature winter look.
Nintendo came out and announced that Metroid Prime 4 is being scrapped and restarted this month. What one thing do you most want to see in the finished product? Lonely isolation on a threatening, alien world. Oh, and some clothes on our friend Samus. Let's leave the "scantily-clad heroine as reward" back in the 80s, eh?
Resident Evil 2 impressed many in January with a incredible remake from the ground up of the PS1 classic. What game would you like to see remade and what changes would you make? Here's one: Metroid Prime . . . Hunters. I like the main trilogy, but I think this early DS title would be awkward and ugly to play now, but with some nice twin-stick controls, some HD graphics and that I think it could be a banger.
It's no secret that there's a fair few wrasslin' fans on GNamer... the question is though, who would come out on top in a GNamer Royal Rumble? I'd batter the lot of you. Although, actually, I think Muss is like a Tae Kwan Do champ or something? Remembering that, I can't believe he used to let me pick him up and do Wrestling moves on him so much.
Finally, a simple one: what one game are you most looking forward to in 2019? Pokemon Gen 8 at the moment. I love this stage with a new game in a long-running Nintendo series; we know it's coming but we don't really know anything yet. |

Pokemon. Lots of grinding. Difficult opponents who require complex competitive strategy to defeat. Tough catching. Forced Nuzlocke. No direction, you're just dropped into a tough map and left to it. Then maybe everyone will realise how shit that is and stop asking for it. At least two of those points actually appeal. The others... not so much. |

| March crept up on us sooner than expected, but another round of questions and another chance to meet your admin team comes with it! - Your Jumpmaster, JayMoyles:
Nintendo had another belting Direct in February. What was the best announcement or trailer?
That bit about a patch coming for SSBU. Blew the roof of the place, that did.
Reggie Fils-Aimé and his forum-breaking face left Nintendo this month, and will be missed. What was your favourite Reggie moment or one-liner?
You can't go wrong with "my body is ready". Timeless.
Tetris 99 showed us that almost any game can be made into an excellent battle royale this month. What game is next and how will it work?
Britain is next. It'll work by "dropping" at your local supermarket for supplies, beating beloved neighbours over the heads with soup cans to make away with essential supplies.
Final Fantasy IX made its way to Switch last month, bringing the Final Fantasy series back to its original home with Nintendo. What Nontendo exclusive from yesteryear should make its way Switchwards next?
The Yakuza games would probably find a hungry market on Switch.
Apex Legends dropped out of nowhere and proved itself to be a worthy contender in the battle royale genre. What would be your strategy in a GNamer battle royale and where would you place?
Much like my strategy in Apex Legends, I'd drop in a reasonably quiet area like the 3DS forum and start equipping myself there. By virtue of avoiding the early battles taking place in the Switch and General Gaming areas, I'd place in the top half but I'd no doubt be crushed in my first real fire fight.
The Oscars had a bit of a bumpy ride this year with controversy around their choice of host in Kevin Hart resulting in a hostless awards ceremony for the first time in decades. Who should have hosted the Oscars instead?
This guy.
- Fantasy Games Critic Champion Balladeer:
Nintendo had another belting Direct in February. What was the best announcement or trailer? For me, I think Astral Chain edges it. Completely new, completely unexpected, and entertainingly mad-looking. I'm up for that!
Reggie Fils-Aimé and his forum-breaking face left Nintendo this month, and will be missed. What was your favourite Reggie moment or one-liner? I can't look past the Runbow chicken dance that Cappa reminded me about. Not only is it bloody daft, it's for one of the smaller games, and therefore is what is known as a 'nice touch'. All hail the Reggielution indeed.
Tetris 99 showed us that almost any game can be made into an excellent battle royale this month. What game is next and how will it work? Pokémon. A hundred monsters enter; one monster leaves. Do you go strong but slow with Snorlax, opt for risk-reward with Magikarp and try to evolve mid-fight, or are you an unimaginative bastard who picks Pikachu every time?
Final Fantasy IX made its way to Switch last month, bringing the Final Fantasy series back to its original home with Nintendo. What Nontendo exclusive from yesteryear should make its way Switchwards next? Depends how you define 'yesteryear'; but let's have Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch coming to Switch. It'd still look grand today, I reckon.
Apex Legends dropped out of nowhere and proved itself to be a worthy contender in the battle royale genre. What would be your strategy in a GNamer battle royale and where would you place? I'd hunt down all the inactive users and make their bodies into a fort, with Reggie's hollowed-out skull becoming my base of operations. I'd still crash out somewhere in the bottom twenty, mind, which is quite impressive given that we have about 15 irregularly active members.
The Oscars had a bit of a bumpy ride this year with controversy around their choice of host in Kevin Hart resulting in a hostless awards ceremony for the first time in decades. Who should have hosted the Oscars instead? Reggie Fils-Aimé. The overblown ceremony is replaced by three solid hours of the chicken dance.

Tetris 99 was a belter and the ol' chestnut of dropping the game there and then made it a classic.
Reggie Fils-Aimé and his forum-breaking face left Nintendo this month, and will be missed. What was your favourite Reggie moment or one-liner?
That exceptional page of "facts" from the GNamer Nintencyclopedia.

I actually probably would play the fuck out of a Splatoon Battle Royale.

I would love a Metal Gear HD collection - any excuse to replay that series. And as far as I'm aware, MGS4 has never appeared on anything other than PS4.
Apex Legends dropped out of nowhere and proved itself to be a worthy contender in the battle royale genre. What would be your strategy in a GNamer battle royale and where would you place?
I'd fucking have the lot of you. One at a time or all at once, I ain't fussed. Wait, didn't you do this question pretty recently?

| The picture is from Kojima's Policenauts which is a rather a pain to play in 2019 and in English, plus it's basically a visual novel which would work great on the go.
I'd also like to see Kojima's Snatcher. |

| Welcome to another month of Meeting the Admin. Team! We haven't looked at Yoshi this month because it came out right at the end, we hadn't had a chance to get to grips with it, and because we had so many other things to discuss. Next time! - Jay's Crafted Moyles:
The eShop was blessed with another gem recently, in the form of Baba Is You. The eponymous Baba transfers ITS SOUL into inanimate objects to move them to 'WIN'. What inanimate object would you become, given the chance? My bed. Only if it means I get to sleep all day - if I'm sitting there occasionally getting sat on or laid on, then it's a no from me. Pokémon Sword and Shield leapt out of the tall grass to officially greet us last month. Let's get straight to the point - which version are you getting and why?Pokémon Shield - all the cool kids will go for Sword, and I'm a lover protector, not a fighter. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice somehow managed to be even tougher than Fromsoft's other games, but mercifully gave players the ability to spring back to life where they fall after a presumably grisly fate. If you had the ability to resurrect yourself after meeting your maker, would you use it?Nope. When it's time to shuffle off this mortal coil, it's time. Besides, if I died in a grisly accident, would I just die again right away from blood loss or something? Google Stadia wowed* excited* gamers when it was revealed in March. Which big company would you rather have seen enter the gaming market, and why?The WWE. The Console Rumble features thirty different controllers with a new controller releasing every 90 seconds. Incredible! Captain Marvel rocketed onto our cinema screens last month and gave us a look into the 1990s through the Marvel lens. What was your favourite and least favourite thing about the 90s?Being carefree as a child was nice. Looking back on the horrendous fashion from the 90s... not so nice. The EU made us feel a little kinder towards Brexit in March by passing Article 13, which encourages YouTube to use more automated content detection systems. What content would you remove from YouTube, and the Internet, forever if you could? All those disgusting Elsagate videos. YouTube is such an exploitable platform for the sick and twisted and putting a stop to that would be a good move indeed.
- Balla Is You:
The eShop was blessed with another gem recently, in the form of Baba Is You. The eponymous Baba transfers ITS SOUL into inanimate objects to move them to 'WIN'. What inanimate object would you become, given the chance? I would live out my childhood dream and become a JCB digger. BALLA SMASH.
Pokémon Sword and Shield leapt out of the tall grass to officially greet us last month. Let's get straight to the point - which version are you getting and why? The inevitable third version, Pokémon Ballista. Featuring a cover legendary which shoots tree trunks through your face.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice somehow managed to be even tougher than Fromsoft's other games, but mercifully gave players the ability to spring back to life where they fall after a presumably grisly fate. If you had the ability to resurrect yourself after meeting your maker, would you use it? Depends. I'd need to know my respawn point in space and time first off. To add to what Jay said, what if you drowned? Having to go through that all over again because you've respawned at the bottom of the sea? No thank you. Yay technicalities!
Google Stadia wowed* excited* gamers when it was revealed in March. Which big company would you rather have seen enter the gaming market, and why? Ikea. You're given the code and the assets, and have to create the games yourself.
Captain Marvel rocketed onto our cinema screens last month and gave us a look into the 1990s through the Marvel lens. What was your favourite and least favourite thing about the 90s? My favourite thing remains Super Mario 64: no longer the shining denizen of gaming it was back then, at the time it was golden and moulded my gaming tastes for years to come. Least favourite was PE lessons. Team sports are for people who can play team sports: don't make me do them thank you.
The EU made us feel a little kinder towards Brexit in March by passing Article 13, which encourages YouTube to use more automated content detection systems. What content would you remove from YouTube, and the Internet, forever if you could? Anybody and everybody who puts gaming videos with endgame spoilers in their thumbnail. As the first part of this, I'd have ProsafiaGaming shoved up against a wall and... made to stand there without being able to sit down until their legs got really sore.

| The eShop was blessed with another gem recently, in the form of Baba Is You. The eponymous Baba transfers ITS SOUL into inanimate objects to move them to 'WIN'. What inanimate object would you become, given the chance? Princess Peach's frilly undies.
Pokémon Sword and Shield leapt out of the tall grass to officially greet us last month. Let's get straight to the point - which version are you getting and why? Sword. Anybody who buys Shield is a cop.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice somehow managed to be even tougher than Fromsoft's other games, but mercifully gave players the ability to spring back to life where they fall after a presumably grisly fate. If you had the ability to resurrect yourself after meeting your maker, would you use it? Yeah, I've been wishing for the power to quickly spring back to life a lot in my evenings lately.
Google Stadia wowed* excited* gamers when it was revealed in March. Which big company would you rather have seen enter the gaming market, and why? Fentiman's. I want ethically sourced and hand-crafted content, not faceless industrial machines that reduce art to the profitability for the shareholders.
Captain Marvel rocketed onto our cinema screens last month and gave us a look into the 1990s through the Marvel lens. What was your favourite and least favourite thing about the 90s? Favourite: Digimon. Least favourite: New Labour and the slow death of the British Post-War Socialist Dream.
The EU made us feel a little kinder towards Brexit in March by passing Article 13, which encourages YouTube to use more automated content detection systems. What content would you remove from YouTube, and the Internet, forever if you could? Men. |

Fentiman's. I want ethically sourced and hand-crafted content, not faceless industrial machines that reduce art to the profitability for the shareholders. I half-expected you to say 'none of them': pleasantly surprised by this excellent choice. What sort of games would their first-party titles be, though? Lemonade Chronicles? Tonic Trouble? Pier Colar? - Drunkalilly wrote:

Favourite: Digimon. This is a good take. |

| Well their stuff is all botanically brewed, so something a little Pikmin-like, I'd imagine. |

You're given the code and the assets, and have to create the games yourself. I think I'd actually like that. It'd be like those magazines where you built a robot or a model ship as each issue released. - Drunkalilly wrote:

| It'd basically be a Raspberry Pi, only really plugging the 'minimalist chic' angle. |

I normally go for the red looking version which I think is Sword but I can see all the cool kids going for that, so Shield seems more likely but who knows what Pokemon will be on each one.
