| I meant as in the patent is really the NX, but like Shawn Long of Nintendo Enthusiast pointed out that NX was shown at E3 behind the scenes, that a patent would likely to be done before February.
Reading on SONM, seems some also thinking that the patent could be a new form of the Fusion patent which would be a whlie ago that. |

| Did I comment on this? If not (or if so, I suppose!), I don't mind them going back to carts terribly, but the lack of any "insertible" media sounds bad; the only available option being a subscription service, worse. I want to own my games, damn it! |

| If it is to be download only, Nintendo need to change their pricing; £40 in the shops but £50 online is weird, and even worse if it can't be found in the shops at all! |

| That's why a sub would be far better and would make it stand-out from the other two if you can get all the same games but at a monthly cost of X amount but it's the amount that could be the issue.
But cart's would make sense if a hybrid consoles though. |

| No. From a point of view of someone who (a) prefers physical media, (b) wants to own his games, and (c) remembers all too well what happened with things like Phantom Hills, we do not want a subscription service being the only, or primary, method of owning games. "Sub would be far better" indeed! Never knew you were such a wit, Mas! |

| If it was a digital only platform I'm pretty sure I would wait for price drops on almost everything. It'd have to be something truly special for me to download it straight away. I can't remember the last download title I bought actually on release. The Swindle was close, but I only bought that because it was discounted from the off |

| I want physical as well but if you give me a choice of buying downloads only at £50 each like Zero says which I can't trade in etc if I don't like or finished don't want to keep or I pay X amount a month and I can sub to the games that seems the better option.
Like I said it it depends on the Sub price as if it's like £20 a month and I get to play all the games that come out in September for that (NX has 3rd Party let's say), then that seems a good deal but internet could be a issue for some.
As we know the model works from Netflix etc and I know people who don't buy DVDs or Blu Ray's anyone as they just watch all it on what they Sub to.
Phantom Hills? |

| The logistics of a subscription service across multiple parties - including ones that Nintendo no longer really get on with - would be a nightmare. I can see the advantages but it's a route I'm hoping Nintendo ignore for the moment (or there's a physical media side of things alongside it). |

| Scroll wheels and more! A new patent has come and it smells nothing like a Sunday afternoon carvery. Shame. Source: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1113452 GameXplain discuss: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8dCvSHDQ_So
Thoughts? I know it's just another patent and all that but it's not like we really need hard facts to have an intellectual discussion, do we? |

| The controller in the patent only has two face buttons but likely only a prototype the main thing is those weird triggers. |

| Upon seeing it I instantly thought "wii U mini" & if so I doubt we will see released, the two face buttons is just bizarre as well. |

| ...S**t.
No surprise, but still a disappointment.
EDIT: I should clarify, that if the NX really is as industry-leading tech-wise as the article suggests then it may not be a problem. But I want to see a base unit at least as powerful as the BBoPs. Not necessarily graphics-wise, but in environment generation and speed of loading. |

| I'm really unsure how this is going to pan out. Obviously, we need a better idea of what it is, but it's not sounding all too enticing for me right now. My dream Ninty console would be one with the same level of power as its competitors, but with their unique games. I don't really care about all the bells and whistles and, for want of a better word, gimmicks that come with it.
Also, odds on the new Zelda launching with the NX? I reckon we'll see a Twilight Princess style dual-release. |

| It's more possible that I first thought if it's a hybrid with a base, allowing them to use the two-screen dynamic (which I still think will be integral to the game). I'm still kinda hoping not, and that the big launch game is a proper 3D Mario. |

| I do hope they keep Zelda as WiiU only, launch games should be a big show of what it can do, not a port of a game that an old console can run but ever so slightly shinier. |

| It's not too surprising - the rumour mill has not ground anything else out for months. Official confirmation needs to come in, natch, but won't while the current systems could sell ten units this Christmas. I'm not worried, as such, because Nintendo cannot afford to mess this up - in terms of their reputation, at least. However, whatever it is, it will not be a day one purchase unless the launch line-up includes something truly unmissable (unlikely). |

| I wouldn't buy a console on launch anyway. Why bother when you can wait a year and get cheaper games, a cheaper console, a more fleshed out library... course, if everyone acted like that, we'd have no consoles. |
