Alien Girl: Skirmish Edition - What? Oh it's a new game, interesting they're putting homebrew games on, as opposed to just going for legacy
Ant Attack - honestly pretty neat if you can stomatch old stuff
Army Moves - dull
Auf Wiedersehen Monty - Quick get Monty Mole to log in and talk about this. Europe's sideways, so like Spain is down from here and stuff
Avalon - if you can work out what the fuck's going on, you're lying. Incomprehensible. I couldn't get out the first room and thought I was "doing a mistake"
Bobby Bearing - would like to see a modern scrolly version really, but charming
Cosmic Payback - another new one! Looks boring.
Devwill Too - hey this is new too - in all fairness this looks like a game you should be playing on the Spectrum, it's a bit Animal Well-y
Exolon - try not to get shotTOO LATE. Aged poorly
Fairlight - now this is a good'n - again needing a modern reboot really
Firelord - if it wasn't for the random baddies constantly spawning, this'd be great - there's a mechanic in this adventure based around trading - even with the villain of the story - to try and resolve things. Kind of unplayable with the mess in the middle though
Football Manager 2 - completely pointless now, but was legit the best football management game until Championship/Football Manager arrived on PC
Freddy Hardest - messy on the Spectrum unfortunately
The Great Escape - this is legit brilliant; not exactly based on the film, but more the war event of the same name (!) you have to get ready to escape bit by bit
Head over Heels - fucking play it right now you cowards
Highway Encounter - then maybe this
The Hobbit - OH NO TEXT ADVENTURE
Horace Goes Skiing - What is Horace? Larry Bundy Jr. described him as some sort of "bum thing". This is "the good old days" i.e. 2 separate tiny games for some reason.
Jack the Nipper - sigh
Knot in 3D - You know what can't do 3D? A ZX Spectrum
The Lords of Midnight - this is really ambitious - essentially an open world adventure where you have to make sure you do enough battling to keep your army as the dominant side. I've got the PC version off of that there GOG, so am less familiar with this. Might be a bit much
Manic Miner - the OG platformer innit
Match Day II - was shit at the time, and pointless today
Movie - "I had no idea what I was doing" - everyone commenting on YouTube
Nodes of Yesod - Kids will hate this, but it's my cup of tea. Also, Space Northener. Also, the box art was strangely beautiful.
Penetrator - This would have to be your nostalgia, this is really old-school. Really
Phantis (Game Over II) - Being a Spanish* game from the 80s, the main protagonist has them big ol' tiddies. In the first game, the baddie had them big ol' tiddies.
*See also: French games of the 80sPheenix - I mean this is a craptacular rip-off of the Phoenix arcade game.
Pyracurse - this is them Avalon developers again innit - at least you can see what's going on this time
Quazatron - Neat - battle boss robots via a hacking minigame. Rana Rama, the fantasy equivalent is better though
Robin of the Wood - I guess they didn't have the license of Robin Hood... wait a sec. This is alright
Saboteur! Remastered - This is really neat though, and the remastered version got stand-alone releases recently I think. And actually remade by the guy who made the original, using today's technology.
Shovel Adventure - Oh, it's another new-y, missing the point. However, that does mean it actually looks like it's fun to play.
Skool Daze - This is the cult-est cult classic, and not even Bully got as close to being part of a school day.
Snake Escape - I saw this recently independently of this - it's a nice looking new game but is basically Snake in the form of slow puzzles
Spellbound - I mean,
I like it... but
Starquake - by this point you won't remember the difference between this and Nodes of Yesod, or Spellbound even
Starstrike II - you know what CAN do 3D? A ZX Spectrum
El Stompo - this is also new, but, er... never mind lads
Stonkers - It's a bloody RTS. Well sort of. Not my thing
TCQ - There really are too many new games on this thing. This looks nice but it feels like it's missing the point at this stage.
Target: Renegade - AKA the weird tangent Kunio-Kun / River City Ransom ended up doing over here. The first one might be slightly better, but everyone loves this apparently
Technician Ted - The Megamix - right. Right. I need to talk about Technician Ted. This is like Jet Set Willy, blatantly "inspired by it" especially in terms of being totally unfair. This includes having to solve certain puzzles in a certain time in order to not soft-lock yourself out of finishing the game. I once read a walkthrough, to discover that the first puzzle room, in which you had so many minutes to get to, I HAD NEVER SEEN OR KNEW EXISTED. Although apparently the MegaMix is a completely different map, and is essentially a sequel. Bah though. Bah.
Tenebra - It's new again, but this looks like a "retro" PC game made today anyway - yeah this is cool, I've seen people play this before.
Trashman - Another cult classic! Yeah! Actually a bit boring, but kind of pleasant to see that, in the old days, we made videogames about exciting things like being a bin man, or mowing a lawn.
The Way of the Exploding Fist - if you can ever get the controls to do what you want them to, this is probably fun.
Wheelie - I've never heard anyone talk about this game ever.
Where Time Stood Still - This one's also pretty good, it's basically the same engine as The Great Escape - you've got an adventure to go get through but your NPC chums are slightly autonomous.
As you can jam other games on there - notable by their absence are all the CodeMasters ones, presumably all tied up in licensing stuff. Get yer Dizzys and Super Robin Hood (oh
they had the license). Oh and blah blah blah Captain Blood blah blah blah
