| Nintendo have announced their plans for this year's E3 time period, and me doing the thread for that seems to have become a thing (to the extent that I've received an MP from somebody already asking when I was going to put it up (mentioning no usernames (Mas))). With a month to go until Nintendo start things up, therefore, let's unearth the Hype Machine from the attic and see whether it still works. Links to streams and that:Twitch is usually your best bet for Nintendo. It's a similar layout to last time. Like, really similar. The Nintendo World Championships (who they, Ed?) replace the Smash Bros. Invitational, and Mario Maker will be playable in Best Buys instead of SSBU - otherwise, it's very similar. Video isn't as good this time, either. - Timetable (shuffle everything forward eight hours):
- All Press Conferences (Stolen from Neogaf):
What might we be seeing, then? - Wii U:
Mario Maker (duh) Starfox U Yoshi's Woolly World Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem Devil's Third Some stuff from Natsume (including VC) Pokken (surely?) Project Giant Robot/Guard (if not subsumed into SFU) Project Treasure? SSB4 DLC? Splatoon DLC?
Zelda U (ruled out) And already released games - Western dates for XCX and Fatal Frame 5, perhaps?
- 3DS:
Fire Emblem if Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon The Great Phoenix Wright Bravely Second Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer Some stuff from Natsume
And perhaps something on the NX. Nope, specifically denied. - Multiformat with Masofdas:

- My thoughts:
Nintendo's revolutionary setup blew everybody else out of the water last time. I can't see the same happening again. It'll still be good, but without Zelda, XCX (now out in Japan, remember), or Splatoon; with Starfox U sounding more like Shigsy's quirky toy than a bombastic space adventure with everything that escapes Nintendo's lips; and with the 3DS dying a death, only a dramatic NX reveal or some megaton surprises will shake my general feeling of ennui.
What I'd like to see later. For now, don your hype hats, speculation hats, comedy bowlers that you bought on holiday, and let's talk E3!

| Yay it's up, I love E3 hype it's like Christmas but interesting. Hmm not sure on Project Giant Robot/Guard (if not subsumed into SFU) Balla seeing it was confirmed yet again all three are separate things with Giant Robot (I think it's that one) meant to be out before the end of Q2. - Rumours:
The rumour I'm hearing the most is that Platinum has had a hand in Star Fox, Level 5 are working on Paper Mario which is going to be the big surprise from Nintendo.
Also like I said else where Nintendo sticks to there time slot meaning them and Square will be on at the same time, me and Jas have been talking about it Twitter and I'm torn which to watch but I now plan to have one on the TV and the other on the laptop. |

| Very disappointed with Ninty clashing with Square. Especially considering the prerecorded nature of Nintys and Squares having been confirmed before. Looking forward to it all regardless though (and not just because I'm off from work, honest) |

| I said they would in the Podcast, I just couldn't see Nintendo budging as it's always been there time and is perfect time slot 1 hour before and not to early. I think moving even though it wasn't confirmed would of shown weakness especially against a 3rd Party but be funny if they both show Bravely Second. |

| I fail to see how it's weakness wanting to get the most coverage possible, I'm gonna have to watch 2 conferences at the same time now, which is balls. |

| Because it's always been there slot, to me there standing the ground and showing there not moving for no one. There Nintendo and they'll do what they want attitude.
But like said on the cast it's aimed at the yanks and any early then 9 am is to early for them lol and a showable time for the rest of the world. |

| That video from Nintendo was brilliant & I'm glad they are sticking to the same format as last year as it keeps the focus on what really matters.
THE GAMES!
---
I still wish the digital event was, you know, a digital event where we could download and sample the show floor demos or maybe be able to take part in the Nintendo world championships in some way.
I do get that this would very difficult and could cause their servers to melt but it'd be nice to be a part of rather than just watching. |

| Poor Christmas. As I always say, I'm trying to keep my expectations carefully lowered for E3. There are so many brilliant things that Nintendo could do that the more speculation, the greater the disappointment. |

THE GAMES! Don't get me wrong: I still think it's the best possible format. I'm just uncertain that those GAMES will be all that this time around. - andyman949 wrote:

Square should have changed their time, then! You don't mess with the big N, especially when you're a shadow of your former self. |

| E3 is going to be pretty boring this year I reckon. Nintendo have either ruled out or released every single big hitter for both their systems at this point so nothing'll be coming from them, and the others are never exciting at E3 because it just feels like they try to manufacture it so much it leaves me colder than the current winter temperatures at midnight. |

| Four Swords 3DS (or WiiU) and F-Zero would be the two big surprise announcements that I would be incredibly happy with.
Far outside chances though, unfortunately. Some more F-zero DLC for MK8 could work though, what with 200cc now being a thing. |

| I've heard a rumour about F-Zero that the reason Fast tacing Neo isn't out yet as it's become F-Zero Neo.
But so are we saying Paper Mario & Animal Crossing U aren't big. |

| Ah, are we doing rampant speculation now? In which case, here are my top fives: top five most anticipated dead certs (or near as), top five things I'd like to see that could feasibly happen, and top five wishes upon a (power) star: - Likely to happen:
5. The Great Ace Attorney - Even a hint of a translation of this would be lapped up by me. Not so much of a certainty as the others below, not in English; but I'm struggling for options here.
4. Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem - Much hated around these parts, I'm just happy to be getting another Wii U JRPG with high production values.
3. Western release date for XCX - Might be announced after the big Direct, as it's not really front page news. Is it quite sad that my third-most anticipated almost-certainty is a translation date? Yes, yes it is.
2. SSB4 DLC - I reckon MK8's had its time in the spotlight (although potential F-Zero DLC might be a decent shout), and that SSB4 is almost certain to get a new character or two unveiled. Is it quite sad that my second-most anticipated almost-certainty is paid DLC? Yes, yes it is.
1. Star Fox U - Even if it turns out to be a Shigsy toybox, that's no bad thing.
- Not infeasible:
5. 2D (or 2.5D) Metroid - I'm keener on the more Prime-like options, but I'd love a Metroidvania of any form.
4. Rhythm Heaven - About time this series got another outing. It came out on the Wii in its last year of life - could it be time for Rhythm Heaven 3D?
3. All-new big IPs - Nintendo did it last year with Splatoon. Arguably, they did it in 2012, by finishing off with Nintendo Land (fatally). I'd love to see them do it again.
2. Metroid Prime 5 - Please, Retro. Please.
1. Wii U Mario RPG - Some people seem to think it's time for another Paper Mario. We've had a 3DS Paper Mario - why not a Wii U Mario & Luigi? Or a follow-up to Seven Stars, announced simultaneously in the Square and Nintendo presentations? PMU is more likely, but so long as they go back to basics, I'm up for that.
- Yeah, no:
5. NX - Nintendo double-back on themselves and reveal the NX. Ideally it's a 3DS successor, but I'd just like that debate killed off.
4. Mother 4 - C'mon Nintendo. Send the 3DS out on a high.
3. Ice Climbers U - Failing that, Kid Icarus U.
2. Free-roaming 3D Mario - Failing that, Super Mario 64 HD.
1. Zelda U - Nintendo double-back on themselves again and show off a world that impresses not just in scope, but in concentration of stuff to do.
I thought that Four Swords U would have been a brilliant application of multiple gamepads when the Wii U was first conceived. I've given up on it now.

| Rampant speculation ahoy! - Spoiler:
1. New Metroid Prime. Retro's up to something... I hope it's something like this.
2. Another couple of Smash 4 character announcements. I'm interested to see if the two rumoured characters from the data mining done after the last patch pop up.
3. Mother 3 Western release. PLEASE NINTENDO.
4. F-Zero. I'd love to see it, even if it's actually probably less likely than Mother 3 getting a Western release.
5. Reggie to go on murderous spree clutching a Power Glove adorned with Pokemon evolutionary stones, Avengers flown in to Los Angeles to deal with Reggie. Hulk and Reggie clash in the glorious finale amidst a burning Microsoft conference. Iwata laughs in repsonse.

| Who were those characters, Jay? Chorus Men, and...? Also I'm totally replacing my F-Zero wish above with Mother 4.
(Actually announcing the Chorus Men and Rhythm Heaven 3D at the same time would be a masterstroke.) |

| Chorus Men from before release, but the recent patch also showed signs of Roy and Ryu from Street Fighter.
Fun fact - a Mother 4 fangame is due for release next month, and it's looking great! http://www.mother4game.com/

| There's a gameplay trailer up on that site, and it does look promising. I don't expect it to fully capture the spirit of Mother - nigh-impossible without Itoi - but I reckon it'll come close.
Roy, I could do without. I'd be up for Ryu's inclusion though. I suspect if they were to announce Ryu, they'd wait until EVO. I think it'd go over well there. |

| Might join in on the speculation fun myself.
Nintendo
-Star Fox U to get some form of showtime, playable demo may or may not happen but a trailer will happen at least
-Confirmed Game of Forever Xenoblade X to receive an official release date, possibly either the last part of this year as Nintendo's big holiday game or early next year as the year's first big game
-A proper successor to the 3d Mario series for the Wii U
-Smash dlc, featuring The Beast: Wolf, and maybe that nobody known as Ryu on the side
-Fire Emblem if western release date, and some other bad casual change on top of the weapon thing and auto-revive after a turn mode
Atlus
-Persona: Featuring Fire Emblem Cosplay to receive more air time, possibly some form of release schedule and gameplay details like how the battle system works
-Persona 5 to see a similar sort of treatment as PFFE
-Etrian Odyssey 5 info
Sony
-Big budget game: Muscular Guy With Guns Edition
-Big Budget Game: The Dark Fantasy Edition
-Some throwaway remark about The Last Guardian
-Some new unique IP akin to Tearaway and Gravity Rush
Microsoft
-Halo "Whatever number they're up to now"
-Forza "Whatever Number They're Up to Now"
-Gears of War 4
-Fable of some sort
Square Enix
-Final Fantasy XV to get a massive showing, including a tentative release date
-Something to keep Kingdom Hearts fans happy
-To continue ignoring the existence of Bravely Second expecting Nintendo to handle everything for them because they're lazy cheapskates that don't care about anything that doesn't have Final Fantasy in the name
-The Lightning Trilogy: HD HD Edition: Now With Perfect Smooth Frame Rates
-Final Fantasy X HD HD HD Game of The Century Remaster Edition
Everyone Else
-Call of Duty: 2015 Edition
-A bunch of stuff that doesn't even register on my radar
That should about cover my speculation-wishlist hybrid. |

GR2 actually could be there but more of a TGS thing where FFXV has been confirmed to be shown and not at E3. |
