I only watched that section of the NWC and I really can't wait for that game, hopefully those treehouse levels are included in the game somewhere as I'd love to play them. |

| Does it look better than previously? The levels shown off seemed too tiny to be worth my while last time, but I've seen a glimpse of three Bowsers stacked on top of each other this time, and... |

| Don't know where else to put this, so I'll fire it here. It's my uninformed and probably outrageous E3 predictions! - Spoiler:
3D Super Mario for Wii U 2D Metroid for Wii U 3D Donkey Kong for Wii U Mario Kart 8 DLC for Wii U Super Mario Sunshine port for New 3DS Retro-developed Earthbound for 3DS
That's in addition to Starfox and the stuff that's already been leaked. Naturally, they'll also waste a load of time on ropey JRPGs. I'll also go a bit mental and say we'll see two new IPs introduced.
3D Mario and a Wii U version of Animal Crossing would do me fine, natch. That's all I'm really hoping for.
Let see how close I am tomorrow night. |

| You've found the right place, Cappa! Personally I'm hoping for the Nintendo Direct to be three-quarters brand new JRPGs. And speaking of JRPGs (albeit not brand new), I am actually tempted to buy a PS4. Not now, you understand. Some time late 2016. But I do quite want one. Let's put my cynic's/Nintendo fanboy's hat on first. Any person who still believes that Nintendo wasted their relative advantage in the first few years of the Wii U is a die-hard fanboy of one of the other two (or hates Nintendo irrationally). I don't believe that Sony showed a thing for this year. And what did they show? A Kickstarter - not even a game, but the vague hand-wavey promise of one some time in the future. A remake. (Neither of which are exclusives.) And a game which I'm sure wouldn't have got anywhere near the desire it did had it not been delayed ad infinitum (until now). One could almost suggest that it was a very clever marketing ploy. All of which were better than the damp squib of Uncharted 4 that they ended up with. Poor pacing to rival Nintendo's last "megaton" of Nintendo Land in 2012. And the Vita is dead as fuck. Cynicism over. Shenmue 3, The Last Guardian, FFVIIHD. Three megatons, and megatons that I want to play too. This dog thing! What's it got against windmills? Lovely lovely looking game - a bit technically rough in places, but only the most hardened of technophiles would care. I've never played FFVII before. Could have emulated it, but was told that it was a bit rough around the edges. Didn't really hope for an HD remake - that was going to be Squeenix's last roll of the dice, when the alternative was bankruptcy. Well, er. And I don't know whether I need to have played Shenmue 1+2. I still think they need an HD remake first. But I know how much people have wanted this, and for how long. I'm excited, and I don't even have anything I can play it on. Sony hit it out of the ground and into the river flowing outside. Nintendo going to have to announce SMG3 to stand a chance. |

| That's really good Balla, Andy was saying like you remake, kickstarter nothing for me. Where I was going nuts as that was a conference you could only of dreamed of, only other thing they could of brought out was Half Life 3 for instance.
Add to your list No Man's Sky, Horizon and things not shown like Persona 5, Rime it looks a good time well maybe next year to jump in.
MS did have a decent showing and look to have a great 2015 with safe titles that do appeal to me along with a Rare Collection that I was seriously going to get a ONE, now I'm thinking why, there good games but what's Sony's bringing is all I really need. |

| From what I've read, MS' E3 was... nice. Not mind-blowing, but comfortably good. Fine. Nothing to match Sony's.
I'm still not convinced about NMS - procedural generation <<< levels designed by level designers. Watched the trailer, and they've added combat and destructibility, neither of which really got my blood racing.
Horizon New Dawn, on the other hand, I'm sorry to have overlooked. It looks like the Playstation's answer to Monster Hunter, with a healthy dose of cyborgs. Not bad at all. Even the American voice acting didn't quite make me want to take a fork to my ears. |

| Well e3 is halfway over now, so my thoughts so far. I didn't watch sony's presentation because I needed some sleep, but I did, alas, unfortunately watch microsofts. It was quiet possibly the most boring thing I've seen in my entire life, right up there with having to wait in a hospital room for over ten hours with nothing to do waiting to be discharged.
E3 is the time when everyone is watching and the time you're supposed to try and make converts, yet all they did was reinforce the cliche about their system that it's exclusively only for fans of shooting, sports, and cars. Don't get me wrong that's fine for people that like those (dull) games, but it's hardly going to convert someone who isn't already interested.
Even then I've seen them do shows which were at least entertaining even if I didn't care for the actual games themselves.
As for Sonys, as big as the announcements were I find it very hard to muster any form of excitement over them. The Last Guardian was something I never really hyped to begin with and had I done so I might actually feel fairly bitter over its announcement rather than the indifference I currently feel.
As for Final Fantasy seven, my problem with that is two fold. For starters I never really cared for the original when I tried it, by the time I got the chance to try it I'd long since played jrpg's on various systems so I was somewhat jaded and it alas just came off to me as a typical jrpg with very dated production values.
The other, and more impactful reason is that this is Square Enix. No, that statement isn't the usual hate you see for the company thrown around (I liked the XIII trilogy after all, flawed as it is), but because watching the trailer reminded me of something. The glitzy cg cut-scene, the lack of even a hint of a year. Then it hit me what was causing my sense of foreboding, the game Formally Known as Final Fantasy Versus XIII, originally announced over six years at this point and still yet to receive a release window. Same deal, a glitzy cg trailer with nothing much else. |

| Agreed that there's a lot of CGI flying around, which is why it was good to see some TLG gameplay. Also apparently MS showed off a really beautiful game set in an abandoned sandbox world ( Recore?)... then brought out the guns. Anything worth nothing from Ubisoft and EA? Who the hell's this Pelé chap everyone's talking about? |

| I do kinda agree with you Athrun on FF7, I did play when it came out and found it to hard at about age 7 I have gone back to play later and not really got into it due to it being a bit old but I know from Crisis Core & Advent Children along with fans that there is a good game & story there that making a remake will be great but when will see is the question unless it's been worked on since the PS3 demo but highly unlikely,
Also got World of Final Fantasy coming to PS4.
Is Pelé a serious question?
Ubi had the normal but ended with a new ghost recon, it was good show if you like that sort of game. EA had a Mass Effect Andromeda Teaser Trailer and Star Wars is looking ace but that's about it.
Recore had guns as well but its from Metroid guys and Inafune, like I said MS had a safe show and I like those game and I am tempted to get a ONE but it's not going to bring in new people it's just going to keep the current fans from the PS4 and adding Backwards Compatibly helps that as well, if there a one console person a gen. |

| Looking on the net some reckon this was the best E3 conference ever from Sony and tops 2013 from them along with all others.
Also on the PS4 they showed Firewatch and not else in the way of Indies which is a shock and the weird looking but also beautiful dream game. |

When she was taking down the big robo-rex I did think about Monster hunter though I'd imagine this is going to be closer to a standard adventure style rpg. |

| Well, watching Sony's presentation right now and already this is really good. Even the games I'd probably never look at are being presented in very appealing ways. Microsoft, take note, this is how you convert people. Good enticing footage of good interesting looking games. |

| Hey, remember 2012, when Nintendo announced the one big game (Pikmin 3) and finished up with the damp squib that was Nintendo Land?
This year was like that, only the damp squib wasn't even a game. |

| Disappointing stuff from Nintendo. There was way too much focus on Amiibo and Mario Maker. There was nothing that looked mindblowingly good - ports of old stuff, a Zelda running in the same engine as ALBW, barely any focus on Xenoblade, and ending with that Mario montage. |

| I want to be generous and say they won e3 because of the Xenoblade 2015 release date and the awesome fire emblem trailer, but that was only slightly less dull than microsofts conference! Star fox looked fun at least, but when your entire e3 conference only brings that to the table, well, you're kind of in a little trouble really. I declare Sony the unchallenged winner of E3 by several miles. While Nintendo may be bringing most of the upcoming games seemingly tailored to my likes Sony brought the most interesting new announcements. |

| Going back to new games I might actually enjoy:
Star Fox 0 Triforce Heroes Paper Jam Mario Tennis Ultra Smash
And YWW/XCX/Youkai Watch that we'd already seen. SMTxFE looked even worse than it did last time it was shown. |

| That was a wee bit gash. Reggie said that Nintendo were going to deliver games "you didn't expect or even know you wanted", and I think it's fair to say that nobody expected the co-op Zelda game, the Animal Crossing board game or that Metroid Prime...thing.
But, lads, here's a better idea: why not just give folk proper The Legend of Zelda, proper Animal Crossing and proper Metroid Prime, like they actually did want?
I don't doubt that they stuff premiered today will be decent, but the emphasis on "transformation" was well over the top. I'd have said "transition", or, probably, "waiting about for NX". |

That's what it was, wasn't it? Let's be honest now. (I do want that Zelda though.) Actually, they probably intended to show off Zelda, didn't they? And when it was pushed back, they were forced to scrabble around for games to show, to plug that gaping hole. Which doesn't excuse the fact that nothing big and new was announced, or would have been even with Zelda U. Just revealed that Platinum are indeed working on SF0. |

I like a good anime/JRPG game, but I saw this described as "idol waifu trash" and I'm not inclined to disagree. |

| Square and Platinum have just announced the PS4 exclusive Platinum game a Nier Sequel.
Along with Kingdom Hearts III and Star Ocean which is a PS4 exclusive.
I liked the look of SMTxFE, I do trust atlus to deliver.

THIS. I even totally glazed over and missed that this was even a "Metroid" game. --- Really disappointed with the digital event overall, I had a little feeling that they had piqued too early with the smash bros content/NWC's and those Indie event demos but still I'll be thoroughly looking forward to the likes of Super Mario maker, xenoblade X & Starfox Zero. |

| Maybe next year people will finally start going in to these events without much hype. Doubtful for much the same reason the internet exploded over the final fantasy seven cg announcement despite the fact we're still waiting for xv, but I can hope. |
