| It's probably overdue a thread, especially considering there's a few of us playing now. Plus, I need an excuse to post this video of me kicking arse as Zenyatta.
This is impressed me a lot - the class based team shooter is nothing new, but the characters and their abilities breathe fresh life into the genre. What's everybody's heroes of choice thus far? My go to attack hero is Soldier 76, go to defense is probably Hanzo (not taken with any defense heroes really yet), go to tank is Winston and go to support is Lucio or Zenyatta. |

| Genji would be my Attack man, defence I'm pretty torn between Widowmaker, Hanzo and Bastion, Tank is Zarya & Support Zenyatta, Mercy or Ana |

| Nice video. When you get on a roll with Zenyatta it feels like being the quarterback of your team. Healing people up and kicking ass. I'll have to upload my Zenyatta run at some point!
I've got a few from most of the classes I like to play.
Attack: Tracer - not my strongest character, but I like to imagine other players getting frustrated by her. Mario 76 - Yeah he's pretty bland but the sprint is really useful and he can do a bit of everything. I do like all the attack heroes though.
Defence: Hanzo: The only sniper class I've ever felt good with. Sneaking up walls is fun. I don't really play defence class characters though, unless I want to be a bastard bastian. Want to give Junkrat a better try.
Tank: Roadhog - hooking people is really fun, and you can take squishy characters out pretty effectively. His heal also makes him pretty survivable. I don't mind playing Dva either but she isn't my best. I like her maneuverability though.
Support: Zenyatta - a healer with some tasty damage, his abilities are handy and that ultimate is fun. Lucio is another I like although I think it'll take a while to get to know him. |

I like the fact you can still do a fair whack of damage as Zenyatta whilst supporting the team. Some of the other support heroes mean you have to rely on the rest of your team to protect you. Lucio is AMAZING for control maps - whack on speed for getting to the control point, and then chuck on healing for holding and defending the point. I don't think I've lost a control game as Lucio yet. |

| Lucio is just straight up necessary at the start of king of the hill maps, just to get there quickly. I'll switch to him at the start if no one else is playing as him. Otherwise my characters are Symmetra, Ana, Zenyatta and Reinhardt. Symmetra is probably my best, but it's a shame she isn't as good as she used to be. EDIT: Nice stuff on the video! Although I can't say the same for the other team... especially that wheel that came trundling down the middle of the road. If zenyatta destroys your wheel you know you used it badly |

| I'm surprised by your choice of Symmetra OR, she's a character I can't see any worth in from my time so far, the only time I've seen her do anything good is blocking a door in London so we couldn't get to the other objective. What am I missing? |

| Yay good to see a thread and others playing this fantastic game
My characters are Mei on attack now, Defence Torbjörn then if we lose the first point or the payload I will change to Solider-76, I will also play Mercy if we need a healer.
I'm also okay with Widowmaker, the funny thing I've had the game since launch and still not tried every character as I've got used to a bunch of them now. |

| I think what's nice about this game is that in five answers we've all given a nice variety of characters. I don't like mei at all but she is capable of some game swinging plays. |

Grouping turrets together well can create absolute murder zones that can be very difficult to break through, which is more knowing the maps than knowing the character. For example, when defending Temple of Anubis the large archway at the start can be locked down super effectively - most games we will hold the opposition for most of if not all of the time so they never even reach the first capture zone. The teleporter is super super useful as a special and allows the team to effectively defend/hold a position that is far from the current spawn. It's also super useful (and less well used) for attacking, as you can get people immediately back into a capture zone. Finally, her charge shot is amazing for area-denial due to its large hitbox and slow movement, and it has the often not understood ability of going straight through reinhardt's shield. I have killed many, many Reinhardts with Symmetra. It's also pretty good at taking out turrets from afar (it has no range after all) and because you can charge it from cover then fire it as you pop out momentarily. Probably also worth mentioning that her regular beam shot is really good at dealing with people like Genji because it can't be parried. |

| I witnessed Symettra's power first-hand in a control game I played last night - she popped a teleporter right next to the control point and consequently her whole team came barrelling through it to claim the point. She's a tough cookie to play, but a tough enemy to go up against. |

That's my girl B) I did the same the other day on the sanctum part of Nepal. Placed the teleporter inside the small room next to the capture zone and bam, the whole team came flying out. Felt good |

| Like all characters, she has her moments but I'm still not convinced she's a better play than an alternate support/defence character in most situations. She can be very annoying, but lacks firepower and necessitates another support character in the line-up which doesn't help that. Her teleporter tends to get sniffed out by better teams, although it can be a great asset if it's well hidden/properly defended or the whole squad pop through rapidly. Her turrets can be a right pain, but a team that sticks together doesn't normally have too many troubles with them in my experience. At least in my hands, she doesn't have enough grunt to justify picking her hybrid defence and support nature over a more dedicated character that I can use a bit more reliably.
All that said I have seen other players use her well so it's not like I think she sucks. |

| She's definitely a lot worse against well-coordinated teams. Luckily that's not most |

That's certainly not a patch on your Siege video. |

| The update to stats id rather nifty and I like some of the new costumes (I want the Witch outfit for Mercy, so dam much). New mode is good as well even though I suck with everyone part from Solider.
