| Eight times the horror, more like. On Drunka's point though, more character customisation would be cool - Nintendo are obviously chuffed with the Inklings considering they're showing up Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, so they've an opportunity to create some more fresh dudes to play as. |

| Inklings for Super Smash Bros. 4 Deluxe please! (If not, they're a shoo-in for SSB5, sez I.) |

| I think they're a lock for the next iteration of Smash, easily, so seconding that! |

| An ink strike final smash would be so much fun, it really has to happen. That testfire event is seems like an attempt to get as many people to adopt the switch as soon as possible after release, to stop people thinking "oh I'll wait for splatoon", I think it's a great idea anyway though. |

| I think that's just a weirdly worded report about the testfire. |

| Could be I suppose. Hadn't heard of a testfire before today; not so good at keeping up with game news/hype. |

| Sshhh....Don't tell anyone, but I don't read every post on the forum. Sometimes, I don't even read all the posts on a page. And sometimes, I forget things I've read.
But no really, actual news tends to go over my head because I've been burned by hype before, so I'll often just block that stuff out - especially if the game hasn't been released yet. I remember talking about microtransactions, but didn't actually read, or if I did, didn't realise what a testfire was. |

| It's all fake news anyway. The media haven't shown me any evidence that these so-called squid kids aren't just tentacled Japanese sex pests. Sad. |

| Right then lads.
The Spla2n Global Testfire starts tomorrow in UK time. We'll need to be getting as many GNamerans on that as possible. I'll make a Skype group and add anyone who's interested, then we can do textual chat over the weekend and audio during games.
The game times are:
Friday 24th, 19:00 - 20:00 I should be able to finish work at 7 then get home and jump on this, all going well.
Saturday 25th 03:00 - 04:00 I'll definitely be getting out of bed for this one 11:00 - 12:00 I'll be at work for this one, and I reckon my chances of getting on Splatoon are pretty much nil. 19:00 - 20:00 I'll definitely be finishing work at 7 and getting home and jumping on this one.
Sunday 26th 04:00 - 05:00 I'll be all over this one! 12:00 - 13:00 The finale. This is the one I'm least sure about- I'll be at my parents' house for my sister's birthday and Mothering Sunday but my brother and I may be able to jump on. |

I watched these weapon videos last night & I'm now even more excited about the testfire.

| Very good testfire session for me there, with no connection issues on my end. Felt like five minutes rather than 60+. Took me a little while to get used to those motion controls but it all started coming back to me after a few games. I want this released right this second! |

| I played with analog stick controls because I just could not get used to the motion controls, I wish it worked more like it does in Breath of the Wild. Although I was using the joycons in the grip and I'm thinking the motion controls might be better if I used the joycons separately |

| I had 2 mid game errors which isn't that bad for the hour & 10 minutes I spent playing, I imagine this will be ironed out by Nintendo for the next time slots & each one will be more stable then the previous test. Absolutely love the new Splat dualies weapon they're great for closing the gap or getting out of danger, had a big smile on my face whenever I'd dash backwards twice from an oncoming roller player splat them with ease. - Gwyn400 wrote:

It basically does work the same as BotW the only differences are in Spla2n it's always on (since you don't swap weapons mid game) & the default sensitivity is a lot higher. I reckon I'm going to adjust this when I play it next. |

I reckon I'm going to adjust this when I play it next. It doesn't work the same though, if you use motion controls you can't use the analog sticks to look up or down at all, only left and right which is just awkward, I would rather be able to use the analog stick for all aiming and just use the motion controls for minor adjustments the same as it works in Breath of the Wild |

| Hmm...fair enough I've never noticed that before as in BotW if I'm aiming up/down it's all with motion control whereas left to right will be with the stick. |

| I'd have thought that's because you're used to Splatoon. I hated the originals motion controls so they went straight off, whereas in Zelda it really felt like fine tuning instead of needing to aim with weird tilty precision. I'd have hoped they'd have taken BotW way of controlling, but if not I'm sure I'll be sticking the the sticks. |

| I take it all back, I tried playing with motion controls using the joycons seperately so I only had to move one hand and ended up being first on my team in every single game |

Aye that's likely the case. - Gwyn400 wrote:

- Spoiler:
That's good to see that you can use them now & I stand by that everyone should play with them on but maybe tweak the sensitivity to what you can handle. (default setting is weirdly quite fast) The great thing here is you can have the motion sensitivity slow but the left to right camera movement fast. |

| I'm big into the motion controls. I actually really miss them now whenever I play a Nontendo shooter like Mass Effect.
Those of us who'd played the first game and/ Zelda had some chat in the skype chat about the changein jump button. I'd actually changed the jump button in Zelda, so it didn't bother me, but someone on twitter made a really good point: they've switched the jump button so it's still the button nearest the right stick.
I played most of these, missed the 11am sauturday one as I had work, couldn't wake up at 4am this morning (I've barely slept this week) and only got a couple of games in before lunch today.
LOVED IT! Still very much Splatoon, which is no bad thing. Can't wait for this to come out now. Definitely going to join Mario Kart as a game I download so its always on my Switch.

| I only played the once, it's more Splatoon which is great as I didn't play it much on Wii U as by the time friend support had come I moved on and never went back to the game.
I tried playing with motion controls but had to turn them off, I felt like my Dad playing a shooter which consists of mainly either looking at the ground or sky. |
