| "Hang on, Zero," you might be thinking. "There's no way that Nintendo could be considered the 'home' of FIFA, at any point in history." "Yes," I would counter, if you were thinking that, "but I'm talking about my home. Nintendo is my home, and FIFA is coming to it." I remember playing FIFA '96 on the SNES for ages and realising the best way to score goals was to try rasping shots from just outside the box (although you could occasionally confuse goalies if you got close enough and passed it in ). I assume it's moved on in the last twenty years? |

| I understand it has to happen, and it's a good thing for the Switch that it's happening, even if personally I couldn't give two hoots about it. Just hope (like I did in the Skyrim thread) that we don't get a neutered version. |

| I give two hoots about it: I assume it's coming out at the same time as all the other console versions, so they've got time to make it non-neutered. If it was severely cut down, I'd be very sad indeed; Nintendo (or maybe Nintendo fans ) really need it to be at least very close so its sales will be a fair comparison with other consoles (percentage uptake rather than number of copies sold). |

| This being the only thing from EA announced and how FIFA did on Wii U which was close'ish to the other systems along with the words building it for Switch.
Doesn't feel me with optimism when a 60M+ 3DS no longer gets FIFA.

| Much like Skyrim, FIFA turning up on Switch is going to be important for Nintendo to lure some of the (ugh) core market back to Nintendo. Promoting the Switch as being a machine through which you can play FIFA on the go has the potential to be huge for Ninty and EA. |

| I'm pretty keen on this. Busting out FIFA with the two Joycons will be great for LADS ON TOUR situations. I can't honestly tell one FIFA from another, and couldn't care less about the depth of career and story modes. If I can load up the latest Spurs team and have a kickabout, I'll be happy. Having a comparable FIFA on a machine suited to three-minute sessions will be good for me finally getting half-decent at it.
At the end of the day, I'd be far more excited if the Rocket League rumours are true. |

| EA are secretly releasing Rocket League x FIFA. You can play as either a team of cars or a real football team. The football players are more accurate and therefore more likely to score goals than the unwieldy motors, but the cars have the distinct advantage of being rocket-powered and being built out of two tons of metal.
...this isn't the rumour thread, is it? |

| I was unnerved after hearing that this was going to be based off of the ancient XBox 360 version - the version that hasn't had a proper update since about The Battle of Bannockburn. The EA guy saying on Twitter that it was going to be "custom built" is good news though. All the same, I'm hoping that it's a bit more than the LADS ON TOUR type of thing that Buskalillys after; I'm wanting to see all the depth of the PS4 and XBOne versions, but with the JoyCons and Switch itself adding a lot of useful and benefical functionality. Sort of like FIFA 13 on Wii U, only not based on FIFA 12, ta. |

| I'd love to see all that, no doubt, I'm just saying I could live without it.
Also, I'd bloody love it if they got the Mario Strikers boys involved, added some modes and teams with Mazza and pals, and all the power-ups. |

| Actually, just bugger FIFA and give me a new Mario Strikers game, please. |

| I'd like both, Strikers for those in the know and FIFA to sell the copies. |

| I'm pretty convinced that I'd enjoy FIFA Switch more than Super Mario Strikers Switch, based on the most recent outings I've played of both franchises. Strikers Charged was pointlessly hard for the single player, whereas FIFA 2000 (I think?) was #bantzalltheway . |

| A new Mario Strikers would be easy money, and as the Switch is multiplayer anytime and anywhere it would be a really excellent fit for the system. It would be such a Nintendo move for Nintendo not to bring out a new Mario Strikers though. Anyway, as Balladeer said, let's have both FIFA and Strikers. |

The Custom Built thing puts me off as can the Switch run frostbite and if it can't then what engine is going to use, ohh maybe the one they know works on Nintendo framework which would be sort like the PS360 version we still get. Also how much effort will they put in if the install base is only 2-5 million, when the 3DS with a install base with 60m+ doesn't get FIFA and we've seen it time and time again EA bring FIFA to a new system be it a PS4 or a 3DO. If I was running Konami and knowing PES does well in Japan at least, I'd be getting that on the Switch and trying to get that at the forefront of Switch. |

| EA will give it a version of some sort and see how it goes. If they decide it's not worth their time, they won't bother again; if it is, they will. I know I've made it sound crushingly simple, but that's kind of how it is. If they're committed to delivering something of reasonable quality, you'd like to think that it would sell well to the install base... whatever that might be at the time. I'm certainly in on the ground floor. Your usual point, mas, about not buying Nintendo consoles for the third-party games might kick it in the shins, though... time alone will tell. |

| Yeah it is a simple one and I hope it does well and we can see more EA games on the Switch as they do have some good ones but for myself and I think most of this forum even have another system that they could play FIFA on and if you have choice of buying a Custom but portable version or a full fledged version which more then likely be cheaper due to new console tax on the custom version and likely to have mores friends to play with online.

| One thing they definitely should put focus on is it having the FUT mode then they can push the fact you'd be able to trade players locally with friends making it even more like when you traded football stickers as a kid. |

| I imagine there'll be some effort made by EA to provide a different FIFA experience on Switch, but the masses that buy FIFA already aren't likely to buy the Switch one instead of the graphically superior, established online networks and probably cheaper RRP (judging by the Switch game prices) that are on Other Platforms. What FIFA will do is let families have a football game that they can play together on the same system as their Mario Karts and Just Dances. The 8 year olds don't have to take mummy's iPad in the car, they can take their Switch with FIFA.
But as you guys say, Mario Strikers may actually sell better. |

| From what I see in work, most 8 year olds have their own iPads which has FIFA on it. |

| Never compare a phone/ tablet game to something with real controls. Switch will be the connoisseur's choice. |

| It sure will and this what Mr Scullion has been saying if you follow him on Twiiter but for the dam kids nowadays they're playing their games on a tablet or what ever. |

| When you see a child playing a game that would need a controller on a tablet, take it from them and break it on your knee. Then kick the child and shout "SWITCH, BITCH!" |
