| I'm not personally fussed about Ultimate Team but if it means more of you are about to play with, I'll take that. |

| Small mercies, eh? Still no story mode, though. Still, if this weird extra mode's good, that is... good...
...my wording trailed off a bit at the end there. |

| Really not fussed about it not having the story mode tbh, in football games (PES) most of my time is spent in career/master league mode where I build my own team and create my own stories through the matches I play. |

| I've not played FIFA 17, but there's no way that story mode was good, right? |

It was okay but flipping long that I gave up on it, Madden one looks good though as you start at college level. This does look better then I thought and if I do pick up FIFA this year, it might be a coin-toss between Switch and PS4 version depending on factors. |

It's still going to be a selling point isn't it? Obviously I want y'all to be happy with it, but from my selfish point of view, all I want is for it to be good enough for (other) people to buy it, to remove EA's 'oh nobody bought it so the Switch can get tae fock' excuse. I hope it is. |

| Definitely would be a selling point for the casual fans but the main one for the last few years has been the online crowd who are all about Ultimate team. |

| I've never really got into Ultimate Team, and the Journey seemed a bit odd. However, I do like Career mode - taking a young player with low stats, endless training sessions, seeing him make his first appearance in the starting XI... *cries* he's all growed up now |

| That's good to hear the Switch has Ultimate mode. I almost always enjoy the "superstar" or "be a pro" or whatever you want to call them modes. At least, I do in NBA and Madden. Without the role specialisation of American Football or the limited - 5 players on at a time - lineups of basketball, I always feel like I just get lost in the shuffle on footy ones - couldn't hack the PES version anyhow. I'm not sure how I feel about actual storylines being added to that mode though. I had the NBA 2K game Spike Lee ] directed butchered. (I made a really tall white dude and yet I lived in Harlem with my African American family and gangster friends, ). Although what I did like about that version was that it significantly abridged the season, down from a ludicrous 82 games, to 20 or so. So I did actually manage to finish a season. |

| The Journey just sounds like the gaming adaptation of the film Goal which is garbage so that's justification enough for me not to care. I'd really like the Pro Clubs mode after being reminded of it in Twitter, could basically start a GNamer team with that which would be ace.
I think it'll sell quite well given the Switch's numbers so far and that the console has a genuine selling point for a game like this over other consoles, I mean it's got me interested and I've been firmly against Fifa for years. |

| The Journey reminded me of an old TV show I used to watch. It was basically a soap about footballers in a fictional Premier League squad. I can't remember the name of it for the life of me though. |

| Buy FIFA 18 or EA will not support the Switch... but we kind of knew this anyway, right? It's nonetheless amusing that we have to buy a football game in order for EA to believe it worth their time getting other areas of their diverse portfolio onto the system. |

| I see what you are saying but it's their behemoth title, isn't it? So for how ridiculous it might be it's easy for them to think "Well, if our biggest title doesn't do the numbers then why would anything else?" & EA have always been notoriously picky as I remember them not supporting the Dreamcast at all because apparently it didn't use a certain chip set they wanted.
To give it the best chance EA just need to be really upfront & show Nintendo fans the game as much as possible (They've had a fair few demo builds at recent events I think) so they know they are getting a game that isn't a generation behind the ps4/Xo version. |

Completely in agreement with you there, Jas, m'boy: as long as they've given the Switch the best version it can possibly have, I'll be happy. Not that I'll have a point of reference for its quality compared to last year's versh. |

| Oh and a demo on the eshop would be nice considering that is something they (and Konami with PES) do every year for the other systems. |

| On the Dreamcast it was due to SEGA having their own sports range and some legal stuff around it basically also EA was worried about piracy as the Dreamcast easiest console in history to pirate games for.
Looking at how other 3rd party games have been doing on Switch, I think FIFA will do well but not sure if it will do EA well and looking on well FIFA did on 3DS, VITA, Wii U which EA abandoned and Wii, I'd guess it have do 750k+ on Switch. |

| We knew it was coming anyway didn't we, the only problem I see with it is that a good percentage of Nintendo gamers just don't really do Football games, or at least it seems that way. I've surprised myself by how much I'm considering this being strictly team PES but if it turns out as well as they're talking it up to be then I'm on board. |

It's funny I'm mostly intrigued by having a console level football game I can take with me anywhere even though I only play Switch in handheld mode like 5% of the time. |

I can also, when I'm with my folks, pass the Switch to my Dad, and my Mum can watch something from Sky Living, and everyone can be in the same room! |

| That's definitely the main draw, if ever there was a game that could sell the idea of the Switch to masses in this country it's this. |

| Who is seriously get this as I'm sort of tempted by the Switch version with more I've seen and I'm not bothered about Ultimate Team or Journey, I was always bothered about paying the same money for less content but if I can get the game for £30 on Switch instead of £50 on PS4 then that's fine. |

| The gamescom demos I've seen have really put me off tbh as it looks to be the same "floaty" football that has always made me dislike the Fifa games. |

Switch has ultimate team anyway! I'll definitely pick this up eventually, probably not for full price though. |
