Yesterday I Drank

Four cocktails of varying varieties.  The last one was the best, though: a dark red liquid in a martini glass, with an umbrella stuck through a segment of pineapple.  Even the lady bringing it over said, "You've managed to choose the girliest drink on the menu."  Was nice, though: tasted of alcoholic apricots.

The comment your waitress made reminded me of a conversation I had recently with a mate - does the bar staff commenting on your drink choice annoy any of you? To my mate it was a egregious offence but I don't mind, to be honest.

Considering what I put the bar staff through, is welcome retaliation. Also, I know most of the staff and my local; I went to school with one of the girls, used to work with another and my best mates brother works there! It might be different if I was out for the first time somewhere new but my rule is anything goes if someone's trying to be funny; I only take offence if meanness was the goal.

I'm the same as Drunka: if I don't think that the bar staff mean anything nasty by it, I'm fine. I've had worse!

I do enjoy Shanks Mr. Goat's drunken posts. Drunk alt. accounting posting is probably my favourite thing here. I like to imagine it as some sort of Bruce Banner situation, but with far more whisky and headaches in the morning.

That mole is a top lad. His birthday's coming up I saw, ripe old age of 100... he might be having a drunken celebration.

Whisky Beer - a present from a tourist trap in Edinburgh.

Er... it's not very nice, and/but it's 7.5%.

I polished off half a bottle of merlot with my meal last night. I've been spending quite a lot of time with two friends recently who drink rather a lot of wine, and I think it's rubbing off on me a bit.  

Gin. Way too much gin. And I think I was swearing a bit too much, as I sometimes do under the influence, and I had to leave the party early. I was also doing monkey impressions to amuse a child but somehow terrified another child.

I've never been a gin fan, if I'm honest. Tried it straight, with tonic, with lemonade... didn't get along with any of those.

I'm a big fan of the old G&T.

That's the one. By the end of a night though, they're more like G&G&G&G&G&Ts.

Just downed a entire bottle of sunkist, tasted good although a bit too sugary for my tastes.

Back at work today, which I was dreading. Luckily I haven't burned too many bridges. Apparently there was a big fight after I left and I was a bit of a catalyst for it all. But another of my colleagues just laughed it off.

Sounds like you're making a name for yourself at work, Drunka. That's always good. "Who should we hire?" "What about that young firestarter, DrunkaBuskaLuke? He'll turn this company around." And then before you know it you will be the president.

That is more or less how it works. The only reason I've ever achieved anything ever is because people think I'm a laugh.
