It was about drinking, bud - though not necessarily drinking Bud. *looks for high five after that joke but doesn't receive; gently lowers hand awkwardly*

Anyway, I had a special edition Rekorderlig last night - apple and guava. It was bland. The first Rekorderlig that's ever disappointed, in fact.

I had a bottle of wine, a big G&T and some ales.
I think one of the ales was really nice, but I don't fully remember . . .

You know what isn't great? Crispy bacon flavoured Smirnoff vodka.

Particularly when preceded by a pint of thatchers, two tequilas, two pitchers of cocktail and a dirty pint. And a smoothy, because I wanted something refreshing.

Oh gosh. I've had friends make bacon flavoured vodka. Did not partake, watched and laughed from a distance. Same friends also made Skittles-flavoured vodka, which seemed like a 9000% better idea.

Same friends also cooked gammon in coke. I did partake of the remaining coke. Verdict:

Bacon flavoured drinks are absolutely rank. Avoid at all costs.

My auntie did gammon in coke one Christmas. It was alright!

The actual gammon was delicious!

'Tis a bad thing indeed! Nigella Lawson suggested that - cook the gammon in cola, then turn the left-overs into a soup. I will forgive that woman practically anything, but we had about two spoons of that soup before contemplating dialling a bunch of 9s into a phone.

The Guinness is far superior there too, if you like that sort of thing.

As I was told, I didn't like the Guiness I tried over here, but I may have to give it a go at some point.

It's night and day - I'm not a lover of Guinness at home, but over in Ireland it was like an entirely different drink. They keep the good stuff for themselves, natch.

I had some drinks last night

Started with Sweet Dreams Cider which to me just tasted like normal Cider, Old Mout Summer Berries Cider always good, then three screwdrivers which the third one I had was the most water-downed thing I've ever had, Jägerbomb and a Vodka & Coke.

Fentimans Sparkling Lime and Jasmine. For me, Fentimans can go one of two ways: their Cherry Cola and Curiosity Cola are divine but their Rose Lemonade is like drinking perfume. I saw SL&J in a local shop, thought I'd go for it, and wish I hadn't. It was like tonic water, of which I am decidedly not a fan. You might almost call me a 'h8r', if anyone does that, or ever did that.

Here's the thing about tonic water: I really like a gin and tonic, but the choice of tonic water doesn't really matter. I'm much more likely to taste the difference if you use a fancier gin than if you splash out on a fancier tonic. Tonic is kind of designed to be easily ignorable . . .
